Mardi Gras Ball beaut!
I am all over the map in sizing - anywhere from an 8-12 in formal dresses (27 in jeans, M in tops for reference), and this 12 fit quite comfortably because someone had taken in the straps a bit. It was roomy in the bust on me (36/38B) but because of the boning and the straps cinched up, you couldn't tell at all; it was actually really flattering. I got way more compliments than I thought I would, frankly! Wound up being a really easy, flattering dress to wear and easy to walk in with the center slit (not too high). No bra and no Spanx needed.

LOVED this! High slit
One of my favorite RTRs! The high neck and shoulder pads balance the very high slit in a perfect way. The material is rich and luxurious, and the cut is super flattering - it's slimming and shows off curves in the best way. I think this would work on any body type. It's dynamite.

My primary size became unavailable after I rented, which was a super bummer because I LOVE this dress. I have athletic shoulders and a broad rib cage and an 8 just wouldn't zip. Wah wah! I think it probably runs TTS or on the small size, so go up as your backup (unfortunately my backup was the 8 that came). This dress shows off good legs!

Flattering and fun
Sadly, I wasn't able to wear this because I wouldn't have been able to get it back in time (can't return from international destination). But, it was beautiful! I'm a 4/6 on bottom/ M on top in street clothes with broad shoulders and rib cage, and I preferred the large in this dress. This has a deep V cut but would look great on any cup size. The top kind of curves in, really holding you in. High slit, which I loved. Will rent again when I can actually wear it!

Odd fit on me - did not wear
I did not wear this, as it was a weird fit on me. If you follow the size guide, it's fairly TTS, with the exception that it was large in the bust on me. I'm a 4/6 on bottom in street clothes and an 8 on top. I rented the large, and it fit pretty well on bottom but was too big in the bust (36/38B). I have long legs and a shorter torso, and I didn't love where the top detail hit on me - it made my torso look shorter or dumpy in the middle. It has a very narrow cut on top too. Looks great on the model though :)

Gorgeous for Island Wedding
This dress was just FUN! My friends thought the dress looked more flattering on me without the modesty panel, but large-chested gals might choose to keep it buttoned in. I used fashion tape to be on the safe side. The dress has pockets and good structure in the skirt. Tons of compliments! Very unique! Loved it.

High, but tasteful, slit!
LOVED this dress for a Mardi Gras Ball! The high slit was everything! It was definitely a statement while still tasteful. I'd size down if in between sizes - and go with a regular length if under 5'7 (with a 3 1/2" heel). This dress is a bit difficult to wear with a bra. I sticky taped the side with the cutout directly to my strapless bra to hide it, and then used more tape to hold the top and sides in place to camouflage the extra room in the dress. You couldn't tell at all! It was worth it. Loved it.

I LOVED this dress. It was just so unique - lots of compliments at the charity event and on photos I posted afterward. Fit: large in the chest (larger-chested girls this is for you! The rest of us might need a little extra, like a sticky bra); zips to your natural waistline; plenty of room in the hips (and a good disguise if you're looking for one there since there's so much tulle!) One of my favorites!

Glad to be in a cute, comfortable dress when I walked into my surprise birthday party!
My girlfriends threw me a surprise birthday party... I was glad that they had told me to wear a cocktail dress! This was perfect. It's super comfortable, forgiving, and cute! Plenty of room for gals with large rib cages (side zipper). I didn't need a bra (B), which was good because you could see both a nude and navy bra through the lace. The see-through part, however, is not revealing, but if you do need a bra, consider pasties, a U-front, or just knowing that you'll see a bit of a regular bra. TTS, size up for backup.

I didn't wear this because it literally took three of us to get it zipped! I don't know if it was just a sticky zipper or what, but getting over the waist band was especially tricky. It just wasn't practical as a romper to have a zipper that tough to zip/unzip! Otherwise, this would have been 5 stars. While it has a bit of stretch to it, I think it highlighted my big rib cage (long legs, short torso). RTR's great customer service had another outfit out to me with a simple phone call.

So comfortable, unique, and elegant
This dress fit beautifully. Didn't need a bra or Spanx. In fact, it just kind of skimmed my body, making it a really comfortable and forgiving dress to wear - from reading at the ceremony to sitting at dinner to dancing! If you are between sizes, I think you could size down, but bear in mind that there is no stretch to the dress. I have a large ribcage and shoulders and had no problem zipping the side zipper (always a tricky spot if it's the least bit tight). Several compliments, including a few for "best dress here!"

Nothing super remarkable about this gown. It was a bit too long (always err on the side of too long than too short!) on my 5'7 frame with 3 3/4 inch heels. It would have been difficult to wear a bra with this, yet there were no cups sewn into the dress. As always, super great customer service from RTR.

Very small waist
I wanted to love this so much! But, the material was so, so hard to zip that I was afraid I was going to break the zipper (even on the hanger), and the other reviews weren't kidding about the >supersmall< waist on this gown. There is zero stretch in the fabric. Had I gone up a size, it would have been too big on top! Yes, the top is completely and totally sheer, yet when you have it on with a nude bra, you can't tell so don't let that scare you off. It's such a cool dress, but if you don't have a small waist, you might make this your backup dress instead. It was super snug on me - straight up and down, athletic build. As always, super great customer service from RTR.

Perfect Mardi Gras Ball dress! I do wish it were a little shorter to show a little leg; hit right above the knee. The back drapes beautifully, and you can absolutely tell that it's a high-quality dress. The fabric is thick enough that I didn't need a bra (36B). Super comfortable dress and fun to wear! Size down for your backup. Lots of compliments!

While I didn't wear this dress, I will likely rent it again! The color is rich, the beading is beautiful. As all other reviews state, the top is very narrow, so as you can see, you get some side boob... I'm a 36B, so I didn't think it looked indecent! Larger busts, beware. Pinning the neckline a little tighter or using a little fashion tape also helps hold everything in place. Also, runs long, and a *little on the small side. Backup dress; didn't wear, but once again, tremendous RTR customer service.

Super thin material shows all flaws; great though for a good booty!
(Backup dress; didn't wear) This material is so thin that you could see the built in shelf bra! And, anything you may want to hide! This runs large. I wonder if a smaller size would have made the folds of the dress more flattering. It did make my booty look dynamite though!

(Backup dress; didn't wear) Fun and unique!
The one I received had a good snap plus a hook and eye to secure the wrap (a problem mentioned in other reviews). It felt secure. It's UK sizing, so this 14 fit me well (usually an 8 or 10; wide rib cage, athletic shoulders, straight build). As other reviews pointed out, the seam where the scuba material meets the skirt is definitely rough. This dress seems like it would be a good fit for most shapes, but it did show any "extra" around the hips, so Spanx are a good addition. Material is tight and thick enough that I didn't need a bra. Overall, flattering. Backup dress; didn't wear, but once again, tremendous RTR customer service .

Great work dress, size up for backup
DVF does wrap dresses right. I used a style pass to send this to my hotel for a work event. Excellent RTR service. As previous posters mentioned, it does run slightly small - as in you could use a little more material so the top isn't too revealing. A cami under it was a must. Very comfortable and easy to wear.

Loved it so much, I bought it!
Absolutely loved the orange of this dress, and the fit was superb. I'd say this gown runs a little on the large side. I have a huge rib cage! So, I went up a size and it was very comfortable. No need for bra, thankfully, because it would have been difficult to wear one. The slit along the left leg was perfect -- not too high but high enough to add a little something. Very comfortable and easy to dance in!

I think this dress runs a little on the small side (but I have a huge ribcage and broad shoulders, so bear that in mind!) since I usually wear an 8 or sometimes a 10 in BCBG. That said, this fit beautifully except for being too large in the hips/thighs. but since it was black, I didn't find it noticeable. LOVED the cut - super flattering. The slit up the front was just beautiful (and not too high). I didn't need to wear a bra or spanx. Very comfortable and very fun to dance in! I'm slightly under 5'7 and went with a long with 3 1/2" heels. I rarely do black dresses, but this one stood out! Paired it with the Lizzie Fortunato Black Parrot earrings.

Obsessed with this super fun dress! I'm just shy of 5'7 with a short torso and long legs, and this baby is short! It fits as a shift dress, with no stretch to it, so be careful raising your arms above your head :) Fun to dance in... Good for any and all body types and hides anything you want to hide (except those legs!) If you are between sizes, size down. Very easy and fun dress to wear! Love it so much that I will buy it if it goes on the clearance sale!

I love this dress! But man does it run SHORT! A little hard to tell in the angle of the photo, but this gown hit at my ankles, so even flats couldn't have saved it! I' 5'6, which puts me on the cusp of a long, but it wasn't available. While the other 8 I got fit perfectly, this one wouldn't even zip! Granted, I have a large ribcage, so factor that in! Otherwise, the cutouts were really fabulous -- nothing too revealing and very fun! Definitely size up...and get a long! I think this would have been high-water even on someone a few inches shorter than me!

Stood out among hundreds of gorgeous gowns at Mardi Gras Ball!
I wore this to a Mardi Gras Ball, and among hundreds of gorgeous gowns, this one stood out! It's super comfortable too! The material is soft, the arms aren't too tight (and I have a muscular back and arms!), and the length was perfect! One of my favorite rentals by far! Compliments galore. I wore nude undies and a nubra but frankly could have gone without (36B). Definitely get the long if you are 5'6 or taller (4" heel) -- it was perfect. I am often between an 8 and 10 in dresses, and the 8 fit like it was made for me, so if you are between sizes, I think I'd consider sizing down.

Stunningly beautiful winter-weight gown!
This dress is stunning! So classic and elegant. The brocade fabric is of course very heavy, making this a great gown for winter. It's belted at your natural waistline, which is slimming and fitted through the hips (good for straight, athletic gals). The top is cut pretty narrow, so if you have "a little extra" in that space by your armpit, you might not like this one. It's also snug enough that I didn't need a bra. And, the back detailing is a nice surprise! This was a backup option, so I didn't wind up wearing it, but I will very likely rent it again! Size up as a backup or if you're in between sizes, start up a size. The one on me is an 8L. If I rent again, I'll go with a 10.

Unique, eye-catching dress!
Let's get one thing clear! If you are claustrophobic, make sure someone is around to unzip you! Because of the lace, it's darn near impossible to do by yourself! Loved this dress. Easy, comfortable, classy gown for a ball
This dress was just easy! No fashion tape, no pinning, no nothin'! Simple strapless bra works perfectly. Side slit makes it easy to move. Halter neckline is super flattering. Sequins are beautiful. Nice little back detail. I am usually between an 8 and a 10 in dresses (6 in street clothes; large rib cage but otherwise pretty straight up and down) and only the 10 was available. Worked perfectly but had some room, so if you are between sizes, depending on your comfort level, you could likely size down. If the tummy is a trouble spot, you can easily wear spanx in this gown. I'm a hair under 5'7 and went with the long, wearing 4 inch heels. It was perfect for dinner and dancing at the Firefighters and First Responders Rescue Ball!

Consider a long!
I had planned to wear this to a Mardi Gras ball, hence the trial run pics!. This dress is beautiful. The drape in the back is classy, and it is very perfectly form fitting. But, it runs short! I'm a smidge under 5'7 and even in flats, this wouldn't have skimmed the ground. The length, for me, ruined the lines of the gown. Otherwise, it was simply beautiful.

Great color, not so great fit on me
Didn't wear... Sadly, I wasn't impressed. The material is very much like drapery. I think this would be cuter if it was a more dramatic hemline. It just wasn't very flattering on my straight figure - large ribcage, straight hips. Go up a size if you too have a large ribcage! The length in the back was really nice... draped well just to the ground. Out of so many good RTR experiences, I just can't get too excited about this one. Granted, it was a backup!

I got a ton of compliments on this dress that I wore to a friend's wedding in Austin. The material is fairly heavy, which makes it lay nice, but, it does wrinkle AND show water spots!! That said, I think I was the only one who noticed either! I've got a big rib cage, short torso, and long legs... and this dress was like it was made for me. It was a bit big in the hips, but it just gave me better curves! The colors are really rich and beautiful. Fun little dress!

LOVED this! When my first choice was suddenly unavailable, RTR sent this one as a backup (RTR customer service is seriously unparalleled). I wore this dress to emcee a gala and got compliments all night long. I felt confident and beautiful! Best part, no bra and no spanx needed! It has great boning/corseting along the front. This dress just fits like a glove. It hugs in all the right places and created a good natural waist line on me (even though I'm pretty straight!) I loved, loved, loved the back, too! I wore an 8L with 3.5" heels. Perfect. And, it photographed great!

Super flattering with an incredible back!
I just love this dress! Super EASY! Gave me a good waistline (which I need because I'm pretty straight up and down!), didn't need a bra (but if you need the support, gotta go with a backless option), and didn't need Spanx because it falls so perfectly! I wore this to emcee a gala, so it was crucial that I had a dress that I wasn't self conscious in. This fit the bill! I had rented it once before but they didn't have my size. So glad this worked out! The chest is a light gray with a nude lace. The back opening detail is stellar, and for a gal like me with a broad rib cage, it makes the fit really perfect. And, the crisscross detail in the front was also really flattering. I also wore this in a long. This dress does not disappoint!

Beautiful, but expected more
For a dress that retails this expensive, I was expecting WOW. Instead, I thought it was meh. It's a great, beautiful, heavy fabric with a cool overall cut, but the fit was unflattering on my body. I have a really broad rib cage, and this has an interior corset but zipped just fine. But, it did nothing for my figure or bust. And, the corset sits right into your natural waist line, which was a bit uncomfortable. All that said, let me tell you how GREAT RTR was... they gave me this dress as a backup when my first choice was unavailable. It was one of three choices and was a dead third.

Great Mardi Gras Ball gown! ...but get the regular length
I wore the 6L in this, which is really true to my street size (my backup size didn't come, so thankfully this fit!) I'm kind of on the cusp of needing a regular or a long and usually err on the side of a long, because nothing is worse than a too-short dress! That said, the long is reallllly long. And, it's a column dress (no split or anything to make it easier to walk in), so I'd go with a regular length. The knot detail on the front hides any sins, and I used fashion tape to hold the bust line in place. It's low cut but classy, and it photographs really well!

I wound up wearing a second RTR dress because this one was just too tight in my chest. I have a big rib cage but I'm not busty! So, I'd say it runs on the smaller side through the chest. Perhaps the most unique dress of the night!
This dress is so sexy without giving it all away. The slit up the front is perfect to move in, the lace V down the front is perfectly offset by a high scoop neckline, and the side lace panels actually have a nude under layer. The back fits wonderfully - doesn't pull or show any bumps, etc. I have a really broad ribcage and was worried that a 6 that zips up the back might have been too tight, but it fit great! The material is gauzy but gathered, so I didn't need to wear a bra either. I wore this to a Mardi Gras Ball and got SO many compliments on this dress. Plus, it photographs beautifully!
