Shorter than described, but very pretty.
I have learned that the minimum length dress I can rent that will be work appropriate is 36" - this one is described as 38", so I expected it to be at knee length. It was actually several inches above my knee, and I spent the day pulling at the hem. A female colleague even made a joking comment about showing off my legs now that the weather was warmer. I should have listened to other reviews from women shorter than myself who said it was too short...but I trusted the measurement. Other than that, it was a gorgeous dress and I received many compliments on how bright and sunny it was. It fit well and I did not find that I needed a camisole under it, although I am fairly small busted and say this of DVF wrap dresses, also.

Runs larger than usual DVF
I am a size 2 in most dresses (Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, Proenza Schouler) and a 0 in J Crew dresses. I usually have to size up to a small/4 from x-small/2 in DVF due to how small her dresses usually run. Based on reviews here, I rented a 2 and it fit comfortably and appropriately (not skin-tight). I received more compliments on this dress than any other RTR I've worn to work. I paired it with nude pumps and a bold lip. Something else to note: the length of the dress in the description is wrong! It hit me at the knee and I am 5'7". I looked it up on other sites and it is listed as closer to 40" from the shoulder. Overall, it is a gorgeous dress and one of the few I'd consider buying if it wasn't so memorable!

Gorgeous clutch.
I chose this clutch because I wasn't 100% on what I was going to wear, and since it had gold, silver, cream, and black, I figured I would be set regardless of dress. I ended up pairing it with a black dress, and it gave a pop of interest to my outfit. The clutch itself is very detailed, made of a hard "perspex" plastic (I looked it up!) with the ferns being actual metallic threads set into channels below the surface. The interior is a beautiful, heavy brocade. It fit my cell perfectly, along with a lipstick, a pen, and a few cards.

Great for an evening wedding.
I wore this for an evening wedding/reception. It is a great mixture of class and daring - it's long in length and also conservative on top, so the revealing of a little skin feels avant garde instead of risque. I paired this with black heels and a clutch also from RTR (and red lipstick!). The silk feels great against the skin; I was able to wear control top pantyhose that came to my waist without showing through the keyhole - high-waist spanx would be out! Any lines under the dress will show through. I had to be careful with my bra selection as anything too long line will show in the keyhole. I ended up with a strapless bra, but I think a cross-back would have worked nicely provided it didn't come too close at the neck. I had to apply deodorant carefully, and only after I had the dress on - the slightest powder or dust will cling to the silk. (Pro-tip: you can use another lint free, black article of clothing to dust/buff off most stray powders.) I felt like a million dollars and even though it is just a "little black dress," this is in a class of its own and I definitely turned a lot of heads! I would rent this again without hesitation, although it was so memorable it would have to be at an entirely different event with different people!

Super cute, lovely silk.
I knew I couldn't go wrong with Equipment silk...and I was right. Cute tee, a little sheer but a nude bra was not visible - I am not very busty, though, so you may have to take that into account. The white silk is on the cool side, and not a stark white. I paired it with skinny jeans and nude flats - and red lipstick! It was a great choice for a family cookout/potluck. It would be cute tucked into a pencil skirt, as well. It fit me true to size.

Really cute!
I rented this through Unlimited to wear to work. I am typically the type to avoid polyester at all costs, but the fabric was beautiful and clearly high quality. It has black lapels and a navy-based body, so I paired it with black pants and a silver tank with silver loafers. I received so many compliments! The fit was great. I would definitely rent it again.

I wear a 2 in most dresses, but this size 2 made the dress a little more wiggle dress/body con than professional sheath. It fit, but was very tight and I chose to not wear it to church, which was my original aim. The dress is well-made, the fabric is thick, and it is gorgeously structured. I will definitely rent this again...in a size up! My measurements are 32-26-35.5. It is a perfect length and style for a conservative event.

Gorgeous, but definitely runs small.
Let me preface this with - size up! I am always a size 2 in nearly every dress brand, but I should have gone with a 42 instead of a 40. This dress is a beautiful, thick fabric (not what I expected) and is very striking, but it was too tight. I was able to fit it on, but it was just too body con to be appropriate for work, church, or even a nice dinner. I think the 42 would have been figure-hugging, but in a well-fitted way. There is no zipper, so be aware that you will need to protect your hair when pulling it on. It is a gorgeous dress and I will definitely rent it again...in a bigger size. My measurements are 32-26-35.5. Edited to add: I rented the 42 and it fit perfectly. I wore it to a guest lecture/awards ceremony with black heels.

Literally the finest dress I've ever worn (except maybe on my wedding day!)
Gorgeous. Soft, buttery leather; amazing detail and craftsmanship. I rented this to celebrate my wedding anniversary at the finest restaurant in the city and it met all of my expectations. I am a 2 in nearly every dress, but I was wise to follow the advice of sizing up to a 4, as it fit like a glove. My measurements are 32-26-35 and normally I scoff at the suggestion to size up - but I'm glad I did because the tightest point was my ribcage, so a size smaller would have been awful. The leather clings in all of the right places. It is long enough and conservative enough in cut that despite it being somewhat edgy (being comprised of black leather), it is not scandalous. I received many compliments from random strangers (as so often happens with a RTR dress) and my husband couldn't take his eyes off of me all evening. I HIGHLY recommend this dress. I would have kept it in a heartbeat and this is the first dress that I honestly had a hard time sending back.

Stood out from the crowd on NYE!
This dress made me feel like a million bucks on New Year's Eve. I rented a size larger than usual (I am a 2 in pretty much every dress) because some reviews and the Temperley website made it seem like it ran small. This was not the case! My measurements are 32-26-35 and I could have sized down to a 2 with no issues. It was a little roomy in the hips. The arms were snug but not tight and the bust was a little roomy as well. I wore it with a backless silicone stick-on bra since a bra band would have shown in the back. The scuba material was thick and pleasantly warm - I wore it without pantyhose to avoid a dent where the waist is. My husband and I went to an upscale restaurant and while everyone was awash in black, there I was. Black heels, silver watch, plain diamond stud earrings - nothing much is needed. Looks of envy all around and a lot of compliments. If it wasn't so darn memorable, I'd rent it again in a heartbeat. I guess that's what makes RTR amazing!

Warm and stylish.
I rented this for work (but like most blazers, I was also able to pair with jeans for a casual look after work). The lines are indistinct enough that I was able to pair it with black and with navy bottoms and it looked like it matched either. Loved it with navy pants, camel pumps and camel belt, a red silk shirt underneath. It is SO soft and warm; I really wanted to keep this piece! No button to close the front, but I usually don't button my jackets, anyway. I am a size 2 in J. Crew blazers and the 2 in this fit perfectly. Great for freezing offices!

What else is there to say? Typically gorgeous silk shirt. The stars were whimsical, but not cutesy. It was long enough that tucked into dress pants there wasn't a line across the back of my pants. I wore it to work with dark skinny khakis and a black belt with black heels. I also wore it untucked with jeans on the weekend and a pair of black ballet slippers. I would buy a hundred Equipment shirts if 1) they weren't so pricey and 2) dry-cleaning. Thank you RTR for making it a breeze to wear these amazing shirts!

Trendy, work appropriate.
I wasn't sure if I could pull off this look, but it was surprisingly flattering. The fabric is thick and warm, and I loved the lace details. It was long enough for a professional environment. I paired it with black pumps and wore earrings only to play up the collar and sleeve detail. It fit true-to-size for me. I was reluctant to send it back and would definitely rent it again.

Cute with a qualifier.
I rented this dress as a backup for a baby shower, and thought that I might be able to also wear it to work. While the 2 fit well - not tight at all, there is an issue to be aware of in advance. The front closes at the top by means of a few tiny snaps, and although I am small-chested, they kept popping open while just looking at myself in the mirror standing there. If I had worn it, I would have needed fashion tape to keep it closed. The fabric is thick and you can easily get away without wearing shapewear as it will hide a lot of imperfections. It has a drop waist, and would be nice for a daytime event. A shorter gal might be able to wear it to work, but anyone close to my height will find it too short to be appropriate.

I rented this for an afternoon baby shower - it was perfect. The fabric is a finely woven wool and oozes quality. It has some stretch and I found that wearing high-top pantyhose ensured I had a smooth line as it's fairly clingy. Mine was not sent with the belt, but I didn't find it necessary. It does wrinkle, but I was upright for most of the event, so it didn't impact me much. I paired it with nude patent heels. This dress is exactly what I imagine when I think of a classic, conservative sheath for a daytime affair.

Perfect and professional. Stunning in person.
I rented this dress to wear in a professional environment and it was perfect. It might be a bit much for business casual if you're surrounded by folks in khakis and polo shirts, but is an appropriate counterpart to suits and sport coats. The length is just right; everything about it is just conservative enough with a bit of flare in the quad color scheme to make it distinctive. It was hard to see in the pictures here, but the upper portion is navy and the bottom is black. I paired it with black heels. The fabric is a beautiful crepe that is lined and drapes well. The back has a two-way zipper that I left zipped almost all the way down at the bottom. I am a size 2 in most dresses (Rebecca Taylor, Nanette Lepore; J. Crew dress size 0) and this fit like a glove without being tight or clingy. I would rent this again and was really sad to send it back - I received so many compliments. It's hard not to feel like a million dollars in a $1300 dress. Thank you, RTR!

Ridiculously cute.
This skirt was amazing. It fit true to size. The fabric is thick and it is lined; it has deep pockets (!) and the waistband is firm and flattering. I paired it with a red silk blouse and black heels. All of the residents where I work were fawning over it and complimenting the fabric and asking how long it took to make it because it was so detailed (the 80+ age group can't conceive of a situation like RTR so I went with it!). I didn't get a chance to wear this away from work, but I think it would look great with a loose fitted sleeveless blouse. I was wary of wearing a "midi" skirt, but with heels my calves and ankles still looked slim. I would love to have this piece in my closet!

I opted to wear this to work with black heels. The background color is an olive green-gray, and the flowers are vibrant shades of purple with black leaves. I received so many compliments! The silk feels so luxurious. I wouldn't call this a "maxi" dress as that implies it is fairly casual and this is definitely NOT casual and more appropriate for a professional setting, a wedding, church, etc. It cinched nicely at the waist and the buttons down the front don't go all the way to the bottom so it breaks up the line a bit in a good way. I did not want to send this back and kept trying to find reasons to wear it out!

Great fit, flattering and chic.
I wanted to get in my white jacket wearing before Labor Day - I took the advice of others and sized down from my usual 2 to a 0 and it fit perfectly. I paired it with a camel camisole, black pants, and nude patent heels. It looked great! I wore it to work and also shopping when I exchanged the pants for jeans. Note - it says that it is silk, but the tag says it is polyester. Either way, the fabric is a very fine weave and high-quality.

Cute and rich, but cut strangely.
I typically wear a size 2 J Crew blazer and size 2 is my go-to for most coats and jackets - in fact, I occasionally size up because I have longish arms...however, this in a size 2 was quite big. I'm not sure if it was the cut or just the sizing, but it hung off of me and billowed unattractively from the bust down. I would try a size 0 if I rented again. The fabric is a lovely white silk, and despite being clearly brand new it had already snagged on its journey to me - it is very delicate and fragile fabric.

Runs small, but a great dress!
I rented this for work. I sized up (I am a 2 in just about any dress, but I chose the 42/4 based on other reviews. This turned out to be the correct choice, as it fit perfectly in the waist and hips (26" waist, 36" hips) and a smaller size would have been too tight. The bust fit well, although I think it was meant for a little larger bust as it tended to slip off of my shoulders and gaped a little when I leaned over - not good for leaning over patients! - I used some fashion tape to keep it in place and was comfortable wearing it to the office with and without a lab coat. The top portion is intricate, but unlined - my nude bra did not show through. The dominant colors are yellow, black, gold, and white. I paired it with black heels. I received many compliments on the "cute dress" and felt amazing wearing a $1000+ dress. Thanks, RTR!

Adorable pattern, feels like a million dollars.
I am always a size 2 in RT, and this was no exception. I also almost always wear a size 2 in anything else. This fit perfectly. The silk was a beautiful not-stark white, which was more flattering against my pale complexion. The pattern is whimsical and cute. The skirt was lined and a bit clingy, but you could easily wear another slip under if you wanted. The top is unlined, but thick enough that with a nude bra nothing was visible. I think if I was bustier, I might need a cami to keep my bra from showing. I received lots of compliments on this dress and it's hard not to feel like a million dollars draped in quality silk. This was great (and cool/breathable!) for a summer date with my husband at a nice bistro.

Great basic!
This is perfect for a business professional environment. I paired it with a gray pencil skirt and black heels. The silk material shines and drapes wonderfully. It is not at all sheer - I was wearing a pink bra and no camisole underneath it without issue. It would look lovely under a suit jacket, as well. This shirt is slimmer in cut in comparison to the horse-print Equipment blouse also offered by RTR and can be buttoned up high on the neck if desired. I will definitely rent this piece again - I can imagine it looking brilliant with a bold pencil skirt in red or blue!

Very cute for the office.
The first thing I noticed is that that this top is quite low cut. Initially I tried a cami underneath, but it looked a bit unkempt. I then tried a tiny bit of fashion tape to keep it closed at a more reasonable height, and that worked perfectly. I paired it with a black cotton blend skirt (tucked in) and black ballet slippers. I would say that it is true to size for the style. It is meant to be billowy rather than fitted. Most could probably size down to get a more fitted look without it being too tight in the arms or shoulders. The color is not charcoal gray as I had thought; it is more of a drab olive-gray. I work in a business casual environment and it was whimsical, but still professional.

A way to add some edge to a work outfit
I paired this with a tan cashmere sweater. It truly looks like a claw bone covered in gold, smooth with details to give it a realistic look. As expected, it was heavy and felt luxurious. I received many compliments at work and it is definitely appropriate for up to business casual or, depending on the vibe of the work environment, with a suit for some edge.

Prettier in person!
I didn't want to say that this ran large because really, it did fit ALMOST true to size. It might have been a tad larger than most size 2 skirts, but I think the 0 would have been too tight. The pattern and colors are MUCH more vibrant in person - gorgeous navy, metallic gold, hot pink. It is a thick, woven fabric and has a built in slip - no show-through at all even with dark underwear. I paired it with an ivory blouse - white or navy would also look good as the skirt has both white and ivory in it - and wore it to work with lots of compliments. I would definitely rent it again.

Exceptional as expected!
Like all Equipment silk blouses, this was a heavy-weight silk with a beautiful pattern. I paired it with dark skinny jeans and a pair of nude ballet flats. It was almost too low-cut in the front, but as I am somewhat small-chested, it didn't pose a problem and stayed in place without being revealing. The armholes were cut high enough to not cause my bra to be exposed on the side, and I was able to wear a regular bra with it though my racerback might have been a better choice. The shirt flowed out beautifully from the top and I received many compliments. You can't go wrong with Equipment silk...it would also have looked lovely paired with a pencil skirt.

Conservative and feminine, great spring dress
This fit almost precisely true to size for me, except the chest was a little bit too big. I probably could have worn a padded bra to help with this, but opted not to do so. The shoulders are cute, but they do look silly if you raise your arms at all as they sort of pop up. Overall it was a very pretty, feminine dress that was perfect for a dressy brunch. I think it's a bit more pink than the picture, which makes it seem reddish. The dress has beautiful texture and appears woven/embroidered. The pockets were super cute.
