Great fit

Fit like a glove on my body type--broad shouldered and busty. Nice, heavy woolen fabric and fully lined. Perfect for fall or winter. Sizing is in line with other dresses of the brand. Hit just at the knee on me (5'3). Wrinkles after sitting all day at work, but generally not too bad.

Sweet embroidery, little big on hips

Me: 5'3, top heavy/apple, short waisted, 34dd Pros: Dress is a heavy fabric with a little stretch and helps to smooth out the body. Does not wrinkle (a big plus if you sit all day!) embroidery is nice and the fit is conservative for work with a sweater/jacket, but not boring. The picture I used is a bit washed out--real colors are a good black and pink/red/purple flowers. Length is fine--the two points in the front hit just below my kneecap. Cons: this may work better with someone who is more pear shaped. I tried to show in the picture (may be cut off) that the hips are very loose on me--to the point of looking baggy. The cut of the dress makes it obvious I don't have the curves to fill the bottom half. However the top fit great.

Great structure!

Me: busty/apple/top heavy, short waisted Pro: great structure, straight cut, thick fabric, beautiful pattern and cute collar. Dark color keeps it from being too cutesy. Good work-length for me at 5'3, probably short for taller people. Just enough structure that it hangs well even if a bit big, and had plenty of space around the mid section/hips. Can wear with stockings. Cons: wrinkles a little if you're sitting all day. Runs a little big, but looks good on the bigger side given structure of the dress.

Cute, a little low cut

Me: busty/Apple/short waisted The dress is a darker green than it appears in my photo--more of a hunter green. The leather detailing is nice. The fabric is relatively thick and stretchy, a sort of soft cottony looking fabric (but thick enough to hide some lumps). The dress is lined. Fits about the same as others in the brand; I'd say true to size. It's a little too exciting for work (depending on your job and comfort level)--just a little too low cut if you're on the busty side and a little too short (and I'm 5'3). I threw a blazer on it, but probably should have worn a camisole too. Could be good for a holiday party given the green. It also wrinkles a bit after sitting all day, but not too bad.

Great fabric, a little sack like

Me:5'3, Apple/busty/short waisted. 34dd. Generally an 8 in Milly or theory. Very cute, well made dress, beautiful pattern and fabric (good wool, feels high end). Good length for my height. Could be on the short side for someone taller. Rides up when sitting. This is a bit sack like. I could probably have gone down to a small so I'd say this runs big. The fabric is quite stiff so may work with a belt but probably would be too short then for work.

Great fit!

Me: 5'3, 137lb, 34dd, Apple/busty/short waisted This dress fits great! It's made of a thin fabric but the lining fits close to the body while the outer layer skims over it--the effect is the dress fits nicely without clinging to lumps, even though the fabric is pretty thin. Great color-very subtle sparkle, works well with a blazer. Hits right at knee length at my height. Nicely masks any armpit fat. Size is true to Milly dresses--maybe fits a tiny bit looser but I think that makes the dress look more elegant. Only con is the color is a bit dark for summer but the fabric is a little thin for fall.

Cute, on the girly side

Me: 5'3, Apple/busty, 34dd, short waisted Pros: This is a cute dress! Fits me great without being too tight on top and nicely cut around the shoulders (no overly visible armpit fat). Pleats are right on trend and mask flaws. This dress is loose and flowy on top and bottom but has no give around the waist--so this dress may be best for those who know their size in the designer. The length is great for me at 5'3 (few inches above the knees) but may be short on others who are taller. Cons: The collar is cute but I'm not used to having something enclosing my neck so it feels a little choking. This is a very light feeling dress but, like others from the designer, made from poly so isn't as breathable as you'd like for a summer dress. Also surprising fabric given the supposed price point.

Such a great cut!

Me: 5'3, 135lb, Apple/top heavy/busty Pros: Heavy-ish fabric to hide body lumps, lightly and perfectly lined, cute detailing around shoulders and down the sides of the dress. It fit me great--hanging just a bit loose around the waist and hips. I think this would work well for busty/hour-glass people. There may be too much room in the bust for pear shaped individuals. The way the fabric is cut on the sides will show a lot of leg when you're sitting and may be too short for anyone taller than my height for work. Would still be a great casual wedding dress or baby shower type dress. Negatives: This did wrinkle a bit after sitting all day though it's not super obvious. Fabric is polyester which feels ok if it isn't too hot out but is surprising since this strikes me as a summer outfit and given the alleged price point of the dress!

Fit perfectly!

Me: 5'3, 135lb, top heavy/Apple shaped/short waisted This is a great dress! Pros: fabric is thick enough to cover bumps, pattern is bright and fun and helps to mask any flaws, could wear a conventional bra with the straps clipped together in the back (to make it more of a halter shape fit). Could be short on tall people but fit me perfectly at 5'3. Fits like other Milly dresses. I got a lot of complements on the fit and how thin it made me look! Cons: fabric is thick and not breathable. If you sweat, there will be stains and those don't go away even after the sweat evaporates. The fabric hides this to some extent but definitely not perfectly (I was a little self conscious). It got a little rumbled looking as the night wore on--not wrinkled exactly but sort of bumpy. The dress RTR sent had shrunk a bit so the fabric didn't lay flat around the seams in the skirt part of the dress. Arm holes were such that it showed some armpit fat but if you are less broad shouldered should be fine for you!

Such a beautiful dress!

Me: 5'3. 137lb, 34d, short waisted, top heavy/Apple shaped Such a great dress. Made my waist look small even though I'm pretty rectangular. The fabric has just a bit of give to make it comfortable. The size I wore was tight enough to go without a bra (which I recommend because the back cut out would show straps). I wore this with a low cut tank top underneath and a sweater for modesty at work but if you are going to a fancier event you can do without. It's about as short as I'd want for work for my height so maybe a bit too short for taller people.

Nice fabric but BIG

I usually wear an 8 or 10 in DVF. The 8 is very large--even for a shift it looked baggy. I definitely could have done 6. I had to wear a belt to give it some shape. The fabric is nice and thick--very forgiving. Color is a nice deep navy with black. Good for all shapes though perhaps less flattering on busty women (which I am).

Sort of like wearing a big picnic blanket. In a good way?

Me 5'3, 135lbs. Apple/busty. Size 8 or so in dresses This is a cute dress. A little long for my height but fine with heels. Low cut as others mentioned but fine with a slip. And you definitely need a slip if its a windy day as the dress will blow right on open if you're not holding it or it isn't pinned. Fabric looked a little rumpled out of the bag and I was too lazy to iron. Stayed rumpled throughout the day. The fabric is a soft cotton-type fabric though--not stiff as I had expected--so it drapes nicely. I think this runs a tad large. I'm usually a medium but the small fit fine, including on my arms where smalls are usually tight. Since it's a wrap dress, the sizing is relatively forgiving.

Vey light fabric. Runs big.

Me: 5'3, 135lbs, top heavy This dress runs very big. I find Tory generally does but this is even big for that. I'm an 8 usually, and u could have fit a 4 in this dress. It fits baggy on top (no gaping issues around the bust at all) and swings nicely on the bottom. It's unlined and very thin--good for summer! I don't love how the shoulders look (looks frumpy) so wouldn't wear without a blazer (for work) or thin sweater for outside. The picture makes the dress look very blue but it's more speckled than it appears with a lot of red.

Great fit! Good for top heavy women!

Me: 5'3, 137lbs, normally an 8 to 10 (though have lost weight so solidly an 8 these days). Top heavy/straight up and down This dress is nicely cut. The waist has no give but the top is very lose. This runs small in my opinion--I'm pretty much an 8 and sometimes 6 in certain brands especially on my bottom half. So normally I'd go for a medium. But the large fit like a glove around the waist (I am admittedly not an hourglass). And normally dresses are baggy around my hips, but this fit fine. So if you are top heavy with a straight or relatively narrow waist and hips, this may work for you! The arms were a little long and I had to roll them. The cut of the skirt half was reasonable for my height but could be too revealing for someone taller. What I didn't love was the dress is 100% poly--I'm so tired of high end dresses using that material. The top half is light and somewhat breathable though, so it wasn't too uncomfortable even in 80degree heat.

Cute....Maybe a little too cutesy

Me: 5'3, 140lbs 34dd. Apple/busty shaped. Short waisted. This dress is very cute and definitely on the precious/adorable side. Not good if you are trying to be sexy but you'll get a lot of complements from women! Runs large (which I find is often the case with Erin). I wear 10 in DVF and between 8 and 10 for other brands. The 8 is big on me. I could have worn the size 6. It's very forgiving shape, good for all body types unless perhaps you are extremely busty. The color is a true black (the photo I took is washed out) and it hits just above the knee on me. I think this would work for most heights. The back is open and the fabric underneath is different from the rest of the dress. Sort of a cheap looking stretchy fabric. But it's mostly hidden. The rest of the dress has gray structure!

Great cut and heavy fabric. Couldn't imagine paying full price.

Me: 5'3 140 34dd. Apple/busty and short waisted. This was a great dress! I am normally between an 8 and a 10 and the 8 was a tiny bit too tight (but in a way that I thought was flattering) so I think this runs true to size. It's made of a nice heavy denim fabric and works well in the cold with tights. It's on the more casual side--better for a normal day at work than an evening event. The fit was very good--though normally dresses like this are on the right side on top but this wasn't. So I think this works best on busty/hour glass and may be too big on top for pear shaped women. Good length for me but I am on the shorter side.

Kind of sack-like but in a cute way?

Me: 5'3 140 lbs. Apple/busty shape, short waisted, 36dd, bet 8 and 10 These straight/shift-type dresses generally make me look a bit pregnant/heavy because of my body shape but I keep trying them! This one is better than many but would still probably look best on someone who is pear shaped or a little smaller busted. From the side it looks a little cuter but straight on the dress is definitely boxy. That said, it is super comfortable with nice, heavy fabric that helps the dress hang better than it may otherwise, and it's lined. The neckline is very high and I wore a necklace to make it seem less like i was trying to bind my chest. I don't love the arm ties as they are difficult to keep tied, but when tied with a knot they are enormous. Dress is a good length for my height for work. May be a bit short for tall people though the fit is so loose taller people could probably get away with it. I think this dress runs true to size since it's the kind of dress that should be a little loose but it borders on running large.

Cute cut, best for hour glass figures

Me: 5'3, 140lbs, Apple shape/busty, short waisted, 36dd I really like this! The fabric is very heavy and the dress is also lined so it is best for cooler weather. Perfect in the fall with tights. The cut is cute and I love the pleating (agree with another reviewer who mentioned it looks like a slit in the front, but very mildly and in a classy way). The dress fits me great around the bust (dresses like this often don't because I'm on the busty side). It is a little tight around the waist. So I believe it would work well on someone with more of an hour glass figure since it is relatively more roomy around the bust and, obviously, the hips, while being very fitted at the waist. Is ok it true to size though as I'm between 8 and 10 and the 8 is a touch tighter than I'd normally like. I am short waisted and I find the dress a tad long in the torso. It's very fitted around the waist and if the seam hit about a half inch to an inch short the dress would fit me around my natural waist. As it is, the dress bunches just a tiny bit above the waist seam. Dress is a great length for me for work-just above the knee. But I am on the short side.

Beautiful dress! Wrinkles easily.

Me: 5'3 140lbs. Apple/busty/top heavy. Short waisted. Between 8 and 10. I love this dress! Colors are beautiful and the fit is wonderful. Generally shift type dresses make me look larger than I am but the fabric on this (a stiff heavy, almost canvas feel) gives the dress great structure (has a soft lining). I went up to the 10 though I often wear 8 in Milly so that the dress would be a bit longer and would hang looser as shifts should, and I was very pleased with the decision. I thought this was about as short as I'll ever go in a dress for work, so may be too short on people who are taller than me. Paired with tights this dress will work into the late fall. Dropped a star because the fabric wrinkles after sitting and it definitely starts to look a bit rumpled.

Not meant for my body type and wrinkles easily

Me: 140lbs 5'3, Apple/busty/short waisted, 34dd This is a pretty dress, stretchy fabric but it wrinkles easily as you can see in the photo! I'm between an 8 and 10 and the 8 fit a tiny bit tighter than I'd like so I'd say this runs true to size. I am top heavy, and I thought this wasn't the most flattering around the bust and arms (cap sleeves rarely work for me but this one in particular shows some armpit fat). Normally a dress that fits me on top is very baggy around the hips. This dress still fits me well around the hips so it may not work well for pear shaped women (would be too loose on top if fit around bottom half). So I think this dress would work better on someone who more straight up and down.

Me: 5'3 140lbs, Apple/busty/to heavy. Between sizes 8 and 10. Dress runs big (definitely go for a smaller size) and is about four inches too long for my height. That said it's a nice, heavy and somewhat stretchy fabric. It wrinkles some (you can see in the photo) but not excessively. I don't love the color blocking but I think it could be more flattering on the right body (more pear shaped perhaps). The fabric and the lining makes the dress a bit warm for summer but it's good for fall/spring. I do like how the zipper goes down the entire back--adds a nice touch.

Weird collar!

Me: 5'3, 140lbs, normally 8-10, busty/Apple short waisted This was a good length but a few issues. My main one is that the collar is a weird dummy collar that is sewn in. This makes the collar part very thick and warm, which doesn't really fit with a summer romper. It's almost like it has shoulder pads, which I hate. Agree with all who said it gapes open too much in the front. I wore with a tank top, but that ruined a look in my opinion. And I read one review that said it was annoying the belt was separate from the romper. I thought it was silly at the time but having now had to thread the belt through the back, it actually is an irritating task (even with a big safety pin to help). I wore the M but could have probably fit the small, so I marked this as runs large.

Great cut! Love the sleeves!

Me: 5'3 140 lbs, 34dd, Apple/busty, generally an 8 or 10 Dress is great! Love the fabric and sleeves. The 8 fits great around the top, loose bottom half (to the point where it is baggy around my backside). I'm very top heavy though so this is normal for me. That said, I think this dress runs big given I usually am between 8 and 10, and for this one I fit squarely in the 8. The way the purple fabric is cut is very flattering. This dress looked like it would be warm, but it is unlined and the fabric is reasonably thin (though heavy enough to hide some bumps). The lack of lining is great to keep the dress cool, but it is a little scratchy on the inside where all the seams hit. Length is perfect for work--just above the knees. If you are taller it may be a bit short.

Cute mod style but confusing fabric

Me: 5'3 140lbs, 34dd, size 10 or 8 in dresses, top heavy/Apple shape This dress has a very cute cut. I got the 8 which fit me, but I think I would have preferred the 10 for a looser fit that hopefully would have been longer, so I recommend going up if you are in between sizes. In particular, because I am short waisted, the dress bunched a bit at the zipper at my back; a larger size probably would have stayed flat. It was pretty short on me (though I had been hoping to wear with a blazer to work) so I was more sensitive to the length than I otherwise would be. The fabric of the dresses has a very thick, almost quilted feel. Given the color and how short the dress is, it feels like a summer dress, but the thick fabric seems more suited for winter. Because of that I returned the dress without wearing.

Great structure, a little long

Me: 5'3, 140lbs, 34dd, 8-10 dresses, 6 skirts, busty/Apple shape This dress fits true to size for me on top, though i probably could go down to the 8. It's good for larger busts, and larger hips, but very fitted with no stretch at the waist. Since I'm larger on top, dresses like this (tulip shape) tend to make be look bigger all over as they create illusion of larger hips. That said the structure and cut are so nice, it doesn't bother me too much. The cap sleeves are very cute but lack any stretch so I can't lift my arms beyond parallel to the ground. It's a little long for my height; extends just past my knees. Fabric is good quality and heavy and thankfully does not wrinkle easily. This dress is probably best for hour glass shaped women and pear shaped women.

This is a cute dress for work. Me:5'3, 140lbs, size 8-10, 34dd bust, Apple shape/top heavy This dress is very cute but I think may work better on curvier or pear shaped women. As you see from the picture it fit me well on the bust but was much too large around my bottom half. If I rent again I will try the 8 to see if that fits better (I have a little wiggle room on top). It's also a little long on me (well past knees). Unlike others said, I think the dress has a little bit of give so I could have sized down.

Classy dress, more interesting with the gold overlay

This is a great dress. The boning in the top half is supportive enough that I didn't need to wear a bra (34DD), the black hides some flaws and the gold overlay hid others. I'm busty/apple with basically no hips/butt and I thought the dress created a nice shape--minimizing my larger top half and balancing that by drawing focus to the bottom half. I think the dress made me look a little stumpy (I'm 5'3), but I wore it with really high heels that helped to balance. Also think the see-through bottom half helped. I thought the dress ran large. I ordered a 10 and an 8 and was surprised the 8 fit. Normally due to my shoulders/bust I have to size up for strapless dresses. I noticed substantial wear on both dresses I got (had to get a replacement 8 last minute). The boning was bent out of shape for the original two dresses, which was particularly noticeable on the 8 (made the neckline oddly crooked). Of course RTR customer service was great as always so had no problems getting a replacement. The replacement still wasn't perfect (boning still kind of bent) but no where near as bad as the first.

Made me short and squat

This is a beautiful dress, and I loved the pockets! That said, I do not think it works for people who have my shape (5'3, busty, apple, short waisted). this made me look heavier on top, and the area where I don't have issues (namely hips/legs) are completely hidden, making me look bigger than I am. This would probably be a great dress for pear-shaped women. I normally wear 8 or 10--perfect size 10 in Theory dresses for reference, 8 in suits, 6 in skirts--and the 10 in this dress was too big.

Short!

I'm 5'3 and wear a 8-10, so normally have no issues with length in dresses. I'd hoped to wear this dress for work, but it was way too short. I felt as through given the material (fairly thick), and general style, it seems best suited for a business casual atmosphere, but the length makes it inappropriate for that.
