Wish it didn't have an elastic waist
Really cute print, really light fabric that's great for hot days, but the elastic waist was a big detractor for me. It gave it a romper feel (and I am not a romper gal), and also meant that it kept riding up on my already high waist (which meant it kept getting shorter).

Maybe a little too cutesy
Loved the look of this and was eager to wear it. On me, however, it might have come across a little too "farmer's daughter." I think it would work better on, frankly, a slimmer, more petite woman. The fit was spot on, but it felt like I was trying a little too hard. I still give it 4 stars because I feel like my reaction is totally subjective, and the dress is cute, summery, and fit well, so I don't want to deter others.

Hello waist!
If you like your hourglass, showing off your legs, finding a sleeveless dress that neither makes you look like a linebacker nor like you're concealing hams in your triceps, rent this dress. The material is figure flattering and not too thick - it hugs rather than binds and the result is a flattered figure: nipped waist, smoothed everything else. The gold and red accents dress up basic black. Great length and greater cut at the shoulders and arms. There's enough ease at the arm holes, and the shoulders are cut to prevent that bulky look sleeveless dresses sometimes have on women with broad shoulders. Really liked this dress.

Golden Girls Chic!
Ever wanted to wear an enormous dress that still gets you compliments? I wore this to a wedding rehearsal on a very hot day when I wanted maximum air flow. I thought I looked like a somewhat crazy person, but the dress was a real hit. And perfectly airy for a 90+ degree day. The elastic at the shoulders wasn't too tight but was in no danger of slipping. The length was a touch long if you're wearing flats and are average in height (likely too long for someone 5'4" or shorter without heels). I don't know what sizing down would have achieved, but there was more than enough room that I easily could have. If you're on the fence about this dress, definitely give it a try.

I feel pretty!
I loved this dress so much, I'm thinking of ways I can make it office appropriate. Where to begin: it feels like you're wearing a nightgown, but doesn't really look like you're wearing one. The ruffle gives it just enough interest without making even an ample chest look bulky. It isn't too low cut, but is date-night low cut. The length is not too short. The fit is easy, but not sloppy. One's husband could not stop telling one how nice one looked. Extra plus plus bonus points for adjustable straps - I wish more dresses had them. Despite its simplicity and price, I would give serious consideration to buying this dress. 6 stars!

Uncomfortably high-necked
The print is beautiful and fun and different and none of that matters because I felt like I was being strangled. I don't know if it was a fit issue (maybe my neck is especially fat), but I doubt going up a size would have made that significant a difference. It's a real shame because the dress is quite pretty.

I wanted a comfortable dress for a long day and this fit the bill. It ran large and I thought it could have looked neater, but it did the job of keeping me cool and comfortable over 15-16 hours of wear and the color can't be beat.

Beautiful print, ok execution
There was so much extra fabric in the torso on this dress that I had to grab a handful of it and pin it at the nape of my neck so that I wasn't literally exposed all day long. I loved the print, and the length, and the whole vibe, but I couldn't recommend it due to the strange extra fabric issue - ymmv, but if you're short-waisted, this might be a pass.

Surprisingly Fun
To be honest, I didn't want to wait on line to try things on, so I grabbed this dress because it was available in my size. And it was a total hit! I loved the pattern and color and while it hangs kinda shapelessly on the model, if you are curvier, it hangs much differently. While the inner hooking bodice does run a little tight, you don't actually need to hook it and the rest of the dress runs rather large. I thought it was a terrific and unexpected find!

Really fun summer dress
Equally appropriate for an impromptu dinner with your brother and a Sunday barbecue, this maxi dress avoids the sloppiness (not always a bad thing) that a lot of maxis have. This isn't --just-- a dress to wear to the beach or someone's backyard, it's got a lining and a ruffle, and could even probably be used as a daytime summer wedding dress with the right accessories. It's very comfortable, runs pretty large, but not so large that the belt doesn't make it ok (though had I ordered the size above, I think it definitely would have been too big, so maybe order at least one size smaller than normal). Love the colors and really enjoyed wearing this.

Surprisingly sexy
This is a double-take kind of dress. The length and styling don't give its secret weapon away: a front and back center slit that shows off your legs with every step. I'm already a huge sucker for safari-styling, but when I saw how great this dress looked with high heels, I was sold. This is a classic work dress that I would also wear for an evening out or a nice brunch. It runs large but not bulky, and the only weird thing is the back bib which I'm pretty convinced I wore wrong, but I loved the dress so much, I didn't care.

Perfect summer dress!
I could take this on and off over my head without unzipping, but it wasn't --big-- on. It fit rather well, skimming, not hugging, and was comfy all day long. I love the subtlety of the colors which are feminine without being girly, the flirty and flattering v-neck, and the length, which is not too short. Overall, this worked well for work and well for Saturday brunch. and I'm seriously considering buying it.

Lovely pattern, not my favorite fit
This dress would have been a 5 save for the bizarrely tight arm openings. It didn't affect the look of the dress, but it did make it really uncomfortable to wear. The pattern is beautiful and I really like the cut, but something unusual happened when the armscyes were calculated because they are not deep enough for adult arms.

Unexpected and delightful
Wanted something a little festive to wear out to dinner on my birthday and this was the unexpected try-on winner. I'm now ready to say that for me: two thumbs way up for DVF dresses that are NOT wrap dresses because all the non-wraps I've rented have been really wonderful. This dress is very flattering on curves, and the asymmetry of the sleeves is a really nice touch. I think it looks a little shapeless on the model, but I absolutely did not find it shapeless on me. It was flirty and sexy and festive - would definitely rent again.

Cute and Easy
Grabbed this off the rack at the store when I was too busy to wait for a fitting room and it certainly fit the bill for a workday dress. There was a little bit of wonkiness in the neckline/armpit area where, on me, there was too much fabric so it bunched a little strangely, but the dress was comfortable and, fwiw, I'm 5'6" and it was longer on me than it appears on the model.

Marni dresses are all about the stiff fabric this season
Which is not the greatest when it comes to how they hang on the body. The print is lovely, the design elements are different and interesting, and I really want to love this dress (I am reminded of several similar reviews of other recent Marni dresses), but the fabric is just not what I want. It's stiff, unlined, doesn't drape well, and makes a funny sound from time to time. Which is a shame because all the other things about it are so delightful. YMMV, but this might be more of a picnic dress than a boardroom dress.

Stop your search, THIS is the best wrap dress ever
Busty ladies, are you tired of hearing how great wrap dresses are for your figure only to try them on and have all your everything spilling out the center, then being forced to wear an unflattering camisole underneath? Then you will want to stop everything you're doing and rent this dress. In 25+ years of having a large bust, this is the first wrap dress I have ever worn that did not hang all open in front. It needed maybe 3 adjustments all day long, and those were a) very slight (my bra never showed) and b) not immodest. The dress runs large, but I would hesitate to size down on the chance that the extra fabric is what makes the wrap work so well (I might go to the store and try a M on for comparison). So there's the fit wonderful-ness. Now to the color. This dress is beautifully colored. The poppy red and the navy are so classic and so arresting - I got tons of compliments and felt extremely lovely all day long. I am definitely considering buying this dress and also recommending it to everyone I know. You will not be disappointed!

This is definitely a contender for Best Dress I've Rented! The fit: perfect. Slim through the waist and beautifully drapey across the hips. The length is terrific, not too long as to look dowdy, not too short as to be, well, too short, and I love the asymmetry. The quality of material and construction is top-notch, this is a really well-made garment and felt really wonderful on. This dress really knocked it out of the park!

Really glad I tried it
I'd been eyeing this dress since I first signed up for unlimited, but worried I would look like a dubiously fashionable potato in it. I tried it on in the store and it was...cute enough to try. Was it the most flattering dress I've ever worn? No. But the pattern is fun, it's roomy enough for a big dinner (I could have easily fit in the 44, but I think it's supposed to be worn a little loose), and the length shows off your legs well. I'm really glad I tried something outside of my comfort zone even if it isn't a dress I'd wear again.

So many fun details!
I loved this dress for so many reasons: Navy - always love navy Great fit - but definitely runs large - I could put on the 42 without unzipping Super stylish details - I don't generally look terrific in accordion pleats, but they're positioned in a way that does not accentuate the hip area. The v-neck is a little low, but still work appropriate. The folds, pleats, and buttons all conspire to give this dress a deservedly high end feel. Husband approved - and he doesn't generally notice specifics. Am considering renting again (and possibly buying).

Best DVF dress I've ever worn!
I usually have a ton of complaints about how DVF fits: it's often small in weird ways, then really long in the upper torso, then the wrap dresses ALWAYS fall open in NSFW ways. But this dress is a 10 out of 10. It is so flattering and actually a bit roomy (I was concerned about getting the 10 since the dresses don't always fit me well). The length is perfect (wearing it with knee high boots, but it would look just as good with pumps), the placement of the horizontal ribbon is perfect (the middle one hits just above my natural waist drawing the eyes to the narrow part), and I feel really pretty and professional in it. Going to find some reason to wear it again this weekend!

Great dress, gorgeous color
My husband, who is on the record as being anti-peplum, said this dress looked terrific. It's ever so slightly large for the size, but it draped very nicely and, surprisingly, didn't wrinkle too much. The color is very rich and very elegant. The length is not too long, not too short, and the peplum details are really flattering. All in all this is a great dress for work!

Definitely size down and the enjoy!
I tried on the size 4 at the store and even that fit, so this is very generously cut. I went with the size 6 and wore it differently from the model - instead of putting the shoulder straps up, I slipped them beneath my arms - this made the dress have a less dolman-effect and was much cuter on me. Love this pattern, loved wearing something with a different style, and it was super comfortable (I wore it on a 16 hour flight).

Sizing a little weird, but cute overall
I tried on another Nicholas dress in 10 and it was incredibly small, so I got this dress in a 12 - and was able to put it on over my head without unzipping. The effect wasn't terrible on, it just looked a little big, but I feel like the dress wasn't shown off to its best. Very well made with a not-stifling lining, the fabric is lovely and I loved the length. It just wasn't a total home run.

Gorgeous summer dress!
Fitted through the bust and flowing through the waist and hips, this is a flattering summer dress with beautiful, eye-catching fabric, and enough design details to make it interesting. The color is gorgeous - neither too red nor too orange, and looks fine with a bra (if you don't mind a little extra strap showing). Really glad I rented.

Really cute, but short and wrinkles easily.
Loved wearing this during our unseasonably warm February. Can easily wear a regular bra with this and the sleeves are comfortable. It is short - I had to ask someone to hang up my coat for me when I was out with friends because it's definitely too short to raise your arms above your head - and the fabric does wrinkle easily, but aside from those things it's a cute, on-trend dress that is great for weekends or casual nights out.

Which I do not. The fabric is great - good drape and good structure. The print is deceptively complex. The fit is flattering. Unless you have broad shoulders that don't look great in a raglan sleeve.

If you're busty, size up
So, for all intents and purposes, this dress didn't fit me. At least not in the bust. I wore a white camisole and unbuttoned it rather than wear it with the dreaded button gaping. People seemed to really like it, though I wouldn't rent it again as it fit well everywhere else so sizing up wouldn't be an option.

Makes noise when you walk
Another gorgeous pattern on a less than perfect fabric. This dress is unlined and in a twill-like fabric and, as a result, both rides up and doesn't hang well. That being said, I liked everything else about the dress. It runs a bit large, but not too much (could put on over my head without unzipping, but didn't look too big once on), the length is a bit retro in a good way, and the print, again, is beautiful. Wish they had put it on a different fabric.

The sleeves are both a little crazy and a lot of fun!
This is a really cute dress, and if you feel like you can pull it off, I highly recommend it. You'll feel fun all day. The fit was loose enough that I could put it over my head without unzipping, but once on didn't look loose or frumpy. The sleeves are difficult to fit under your jacket, but they are a conversation piece. The horizontal stripe pattern, which could give you pause, did not widen the look, possibly because there's a bit of optical illusion at work.

Gorgeous pattern, meh on the fabric
This print is beautiful - really beautiful - and I very much wanted to love this dress, but... 1. It's very big. The style is boxy, but I definitely could have worn 1 if not 2 sizes smaller. I belted it, but there was still tons of fabric left over. 2. The fabric is almost like a twill, very stiff, and doesn't drape well. This would be a fun dress to wear on vacation or to the beach, but I would have loved it far more in a different fabric.

My husband can't stop talking about it :)
I've been doing RTR for 9 months now, and this is the first dress my husband has said: you should keep this! The dress is boho yet professional, relaxed yet flattering, and altogether contemporary. The only only nitpick is the asymmetrical bit that hangs down - hangs down a lot. I knotted it to prevent myself from tripping over it and I was wearing 4.5"+ heels. It runs a bit large, but not so large that it looks sloppy, and it nips at the waist quite nicely. It's a bit out of my budget to keep, but I'll definitely rent again!

A little fidgety but a lot of fun
There is an underslip that comes with the dress, so despite it being sheer, it is not inappropriate. The fit is a little tight across the chest on me, but the skirt flows beautifully. I feel like it looks navy in real life, though I think it looks black on the screen - that might have to do with the sheerness of the fabric. I'm not sure I'd rent this again just because the style isn't quite me, but it was definitely a fun rent.

This color is too gorgeous for words!
It's even better in person, truly. The fit of this dress is, on me, a little off. It has quite a bit more room than I need up top and just a smidgen too little across my hips. A good pair of control-top tights mostly solves the problem, but the dress is so beautiful that I wish it fit me better or I fit it better. The button detailing on the arms is modest and work-appropriate while being really cute and the length, while short, can be tempered by opaque tights. This is a really great work dress and the color is, again, stunning!

Very high quality knit
Knit dresses can sometimes feel and look cheap, but not this one. The design create a terrific hourglass shape and the length is a nice break from all the very short dresses I seem to keep renting. I would say the dress runs about a half size large - I don't think I would have liked a medium instead, but there is ample breathing room. If you are a small size 8 ordinarily, I would recommend the medium. The fabric can be a touch unforgiving, so if you are someone who cares about an errant bulge here and there, you'll want your shapewear, but the silhouette is quite flattering.

Gorgeous color and the sleeves are quite fun
This dress definitely runs large as I never bothered unzipping it to put it on and it easily went over my head fully zipped. That being said, it didn't much matter because even with some extra room, the dress was supremely flattering. There is some very smart seaming that accentuates the waist and, despite the high neck, doesn't flatten or otherwise treat the bust area poorly. The color is even richer in person. It is short, though. Like don't really raise your arms aggressively above your head short. But with opaque tights and boots it remains well within appropriate (I would not, however, wear it with pumps to the office - too much leg). The sleeves are both inconvenient and delightful. I loved this dress, and am keeping it for an extra wear or two.

Flattering in every way
I was apprehensive about having so much patterning at the bust, because if the dress was too tight there, it would look terrible. Fortunately, this dress is cut generously enough at the bust (without swimming in the waist and hips) that this was not a problem. Quite the contrary. Having all that black around the midsection provided great camouflage and the thick material was great at smoothing, um, lumps. I loved this dress and will definitely wear it a couple more times before returning.

Adorable, but very very large for size
I loved this dress! I wore it for brunch and to work, with boots and with pumps, and despite the fact that it was demonstrably too big (even in the bust which is very unusual), I really loved it. If you rent this, get at least one size smaller than you normally would. I have reliably been wearing other Marni dresses in 46 (and a couple of 44s) and I could have easily fit in a 42 in this model - I had nearly 2" extra on each side at the bust. I didn't find the ruffles overpowering and while the dress does wrinkle easily, it was still one of my favorite rentals.

Retro feel with contemporary style
This is a really fun dress! The trumpet skirt has a definite throwback feel, but the print is modern and the fit is spot-on. The dress hits me square in the middle of the calf, so I wouldn't recommend flats with this as you could end up looking a bit stumpy, but this is an easy day-to-night dress and very figure flattering!

Flattering, form-fitting sheath with interesting details
This is definitely a body-conscious dress and it runs a bit small (as I've noticed Parker does in general). That being said, if you don't mind sizing up, it's a very flattering dress, and the laser-cut detailing is terrific. I love the length, which is not at all dowdy, and with a cardigan or a blazer (if your office is cold like mine) this is an easy workday staple.
