I rented this for a social based work function. It definitely needed belting as it was tentlike without a belt. The fabric is so unique-paper bag thin- but way cool. The high low hem showed off enough of my legs without being too baring. I got so many compliments and would rent again. It's a winner with stilettos and a belt.

I planned to wear this dress once but ended up wearing it multiple times! From business, not casual ;-) to everyday to bougie chic, it was a hit'

You can wear this dress almost anywhere for any occasion. I loved it but the material felt like a tarp.  It was very comfortable and didn't look cheap but I'm not how it is sold as a 1700 dress. Really my only complaint was that I would have loved to keep it. 

I loved this dress! Great detail, gorgeous pattern. Colors were not what I thought, but really great--wine, olive, brown on a grey background. I thought it was red and pink and black from the photo! It was a cold day so I wore it with a wine cropped cardigan. Easy to layer for winter, would be a perfect late summer dress. 

i loved wearing this dress! the cut of the hem makes it really special (short in the front, long on the sides and back) and there's lots of swoosh with the extra material for some "wow," and the fabric is treated with something that makes it feel almost shellacked; really cool. the arm holes are maybe a bit high, but not uncomfortable, and there's no peekaboo with the bra straps (always a plus). i note that RTR should take a look at the zipper: it is a bit stiff, and there is a slight rip in the fabric at the base by the zipper on the dress i got, likely because of the stiffness. otherwise, total winner!

The fabric IS a bit stiff and noisy as others are describing, but I didn't find it uncomfortable and it didn't bother me. It runs large - I got two sizes down from my usual and it fit perfectly, but it has no give so maybe try a couple sizes. Loved the asymmetrical cut. 

Oh how I love this dress!! I wore it for a brunch after a wedding. It was a casual brunch so dressed it down with short boots and a denim jacket. I'm going to wear it next week with gold jewelry and a cashmere shrug for an evening party. This dress is super-fun. Everyone gave me compliments and I felt so great. It's perfect for my pear shaped body because its very tailored up top but then gets bigger below and doesn't cling. The fabric is very lightweight and almost papery... it's strange but great! And very flattering. 

I freaking love this dress.  I would buy it if I could afford it but it is quite expensive.  I've worn it twice since having it and plan to wear it a few more before sending it back.  The fit is perfect.  The length is really fun.  It matches with a ton of different things so you can easily dress it up or dress it down depending on your event.
I do think it runs large.  I typically wear a 12, sometimes even a 14 in designer brands.  I easily fit into the 10 in this and it wasn't tight at all.  It does have a slightly odd material but I think it looks great.

Wore this for a friend's baby shower-layered with a cashmere sweater. I am going to wear it again with nude heels for a cocktail party. Versatile and comfortable. Fabric is kinda weird-stiff, not stretchy... almost rain jacket like. I didn't bother me, and it didn't wrinkle which was really nice. I found it be a touch roomy, but overall I rate it true to size. The length is very flattering.

This dress is absolutely gorgeous. The material does not wrinkle and the colors invoke Fall. That being said, it's true to size with the exception of the breast area. There's really not much room in there if you have a large bust. If you like your clothing tight then go a size down (that is, if you have small to medium breasts). Otherwise, stick with your size or go a size up if you have PLENTY of boobies. I styled it with an ornate, multicolor necklace and a dainty ear cuff (my own). 

I loved this dress. It was unique, comfortable, and super flattering.  It ran about half a size large so size down if you are between sizes.  It is supposed to be fitted across the chest and loose in the body, and that is exactly how it fit me.  

The dress is a bit on the short side, so I would say that if you are taller than 5'5" it is probably not going to be office appropriate.  I wore this to work all day and to a cocktail party at the end of the day.

I wore this dress twice--once to a birthday party and once onstage for my band's gig. Both times it was a head turner, and extremely comfortable as well. I really don't want to return it! :)

The fabric on this dress almost feels like paper. It's pretty crunchy but doesn't wrinkle at all! It definitely runs large so size down. I probably even could've worn a 4. It was loose in the waist and had room in the bust. Perfect dress for work or even a classy date night! Loved the dress!

I think I could have gone down a size in this dress but I didn't mind the looser fit. The smaller size might have been too tight in the bust.  The fabric is interesting, a type of chintz I think. Noisy at times but nothing too bad for me! I loved the asymmetrical hemline that was accentuated with the more stiff fabric. Really well made, fun dress to wear!

After a few magnificent rented items which I just HAD to buy, finally, here's a quintessential "rent don't buy" case study. It's cute enough - and the fabric is addictive enough - to wear once or twice; but for my 5"2 frame it's just too long (I'm referring to the "mini skirt" part of the dress) and the pattern is a bit dated, albeit special; not to mention - it's a very expensive piece of fashion art ;). 
So yes; I have indeed enjoyed wearing it but at the same time, will not shed a tear when we part ways. 

I really loved this dress, despite how large is was on me and the weird fabric.    I felt like one of my grandmother's table cloths, but I loved the colors, the shape and how unique it is.   I will definitely rent again, but size down at least one, maybe two sizes. 

Material is a little "Kringly". 
I thought it looked better with the sweater over- the hemline is a little crazy 

This dress wasn't what I expected. The fabric is very crisp, thin and crunchy. I thought it would drape over the body, but I needed to belt it. The print and colors are great.  

This dress is cute but is runs big so I belted it. I am usually a size 6 or 8 (leaning 8 due to my big bum) but this size 42 was a GOWN on me. Not to mention, the dress is definitely made from the same material of a painter's jumpsuit- it's a thick, paper-like material! 

I wore this to work and also to a concert at a gallery - very easy to dress up or down. I'm not usually a fan of a handkerchief hemline but this dress was a stunner. Fit: true to size, not super fitted but body-hugging in a relaxed way as the fabric does not have stretch. Great for work and more conservative functions as it is flattering in the bust but offers fills coverage (at the arm holes included) and it is really quite short in the front (I liked how it showed off my legs) but because of the drape of the skirt in the sides/back and overall volume it doesn't feel skimpy. Fabric is very light and smooth, almost crinkly but it doesn't wrinkle, very comfortable and good for warm weather. Could be worn with tights to downplay the shorter length in the front or to transition seasons. 

Rented this for a dinner with other work couples.  As the other reviews state, it's definitely a weird fabric.  I was able to steam out the wrinkles and held up really nice.  It runs big,  as with all Marnie items,  but still loved it.  Fabric is not too loud, but just enough to stand out

This dress has a very pretty print and nice colors that allow you to have fun when accessorizing.  It ran a bit large on me, but looks nice with the room it gave me.  Very comfortable and loose fitting.  I recommend going down a size for back up.  Any standard undergarments and bra are fine.  The fabric has no stretch and makes a swooshy sound.  Has a nice professional and fashionable look to it.  

This is another Marni I really like! It is cut a bit tight across the chest so no need for any padded bra.  The asymmetrical bottom is so interesting. The fabric was a surprise because I expected silk or something softer but it's a poplin so its rather swooshy when you walk but good for summer.  

I liked this dress in theory. The material is a little crinkly, but overall it was really comfortable to wear to a 12 course dinner. The fit isn't perfect, but it is forgiving.

This is a beautiful dress.  Many compliments and wore 3X. The fabric is unique - a polished cotton that stands up so well to the design.  Loved the styling. Many commented that is runs large, but that is th styling of the dress.  Only comment is that the zipper is very stiff, but really didn't need it open the full length.  

As others mentioned it is surprisingly short in the middle.  

I love the way it fit and I love the way it looked on me, but I felt like I was wearing a paper bag and it would have been uncomfortable to wear it all night. Very disappointing as I planned on wearing it to a party.  I’m giving it 4 stars because someone else might not care about the fabric and it’s a really different look

The high low hem is fun!  The material is a bit stiff and holds a good shape.   But is not heavy for a nice summer dress 

I liked the beautiful pattern and interesting leather/plastic feeling fabric for this dress, but it just doesn't look right on a short person like me.  It's a nice choice for someone tall, especially if you aren't curvy on top.  Very roomy-- consider ordering a size down.  

This was such an unusual and fun to wear dress. The poplin fabric does feel slightly papery. Modern, very flattering print. As with all Marni, this runs slightly big, but it wasn't the tent on me that most Marni dresses are. I did belt the waist, although it looked fine unbelted as well. This got me tons of compliments at work and at an art gallery event. Do beware that the material is pretty thin and summery - this is not a winter dress! Will definitely rent again.

This dress is amazing, the material is quite unique, only one slight problem was the shoulders were definitley made for someone with a slightly longer torso. But it was still great! loved it and wore it with a belt as recommended by others.

The dress is beautiful and I wore it to work and to dinner.  Definitely short in the front but the longer sides allow for work.  Colors are pretty and looks cute with a denim jacket.

This dress has the unique cut and fabric you would expect from this level of designer. Would buy it if i could!!

The bust is narrow - but the rest of the dress is designed to be tented. The fabric is great and the colors are vibrant! I pair it with black leather booties and a black leather cropped jacket.

I rented this with unlimited for work. The colors are nice if anlittle conservative but what i really loved was that the dress feels like it is mademof paper! Weird and awesome at once. 

Pro: drap is gorgeous, fabric unique as noted
Con: does make sound when you walk, if ypu care about that sort of thing

I styled this dress with a silk cropped jacker and black suede+mesh pumps.
