I squeezed into my smaller size, but would have preferred my normal size (for both comfort in the waist, and a bit more length), if my normal size had been available to rent.

This wears like a stretch-ier version of a J.Crew tissue turtleneck...Except it's not a full turtleneck. This has about a 1.5" "mock neck" style. I rented it hoping it would peek out from under a black cashmere turtleneck and it didn't work for that...and it looked a little awkward under a crew neck, too. This was the perfect rental for the doldrums of March/April in the Northeast, when you desperately want it to be spring, but it's still snowing and freezing! I cannot figure out who could possibly wear this sweater! I am a very standard size 2/4, XS/S and rented this in Medium based on reviews. I could barely get it on! Loved the "eyelash" lace trim at the bottom of the sleeves and skirt. It's also just a very comfortable dress--A total win-win in my book! The title says it all! If your husband tells you this is your favorite rental ever (I've rented dozens!), you know it's good! This is a super fun dancing dress! Great for a formal backyard wedding. As other reviewers say, the neck straps are short and the bust runs a little small, but the arm holes are big. The gapping that combo creates is not obvious to others, though you do have to carefully select your undergarments. A seriously fun dress!

Fit Notes: I almost always find longsleeve dresses tight in the shoulders and arms, and this one was no different. I sized up from my usual 4 to a 6 to be comfortable through the shoulders and arms.
