I couldn't stop smiling when this dress arrived - it was simply breathtaking! You will be noticed in this dress. I felt so beautiful wearing it, and received so many compliments. I wore it to a birthday dinner around New Years Eve, and the gold thread and gorgeous embroidery were also perfect for the holidays. It's both festive and formal, and looks great in all lighting. I'm only 5'1" and was pleasantly surprised that the length was not too long on me - it hit just below the knee. About sizing, it's a tad tight in the chest area and you might want to size up on the backup dress if you're bigger than a C cup. No bra was required. The fabric in the hip area was more loose. I've rented a quite few RTR dresses, but this was the best experience ever!

This is a high class dress, and fine tailoring brings out the best curves in your body. It's sexy, but also conservative. It feels rich to the touch. The fabric is stretchy and thick, making it absolutely perfect for autumn, winter and spring weather. I wore it to an outdoor wedding in the rain, with temps in the 40s, and stayed pretty warm. The dress got a lot of compliments. About the fit - I ordered a 2 because my usual 0 was sold out. But turned out this dress is actually true to size (despite some reviews). Yes, the satin band is tight on your ribcage, but it actually stretches a bit after a while. However, the lace top is intended to be tight (substituting for a bra) - and the size 2 ended up baggy on me in the chest area. How it fits you may depend on your bust size. If you're C-cup or below, order your usual size and one up. If your bust is larger, going up a size might be better (to get the looser satin band). Length -I'm 5"0' and it hit below the knees. Color - camera flashes make it look more purple/navy than it actually is - at night it appears fully black. Occasion - I wouldn't wear this dress for a girl's night out because it is on the conservative side (with my figure), but it's ideal for a formal affair - for a wedding it's perfection. A beautiful dress you won't regret renting.

At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like this dress, but I really came to love it. My boyfriend adored it. The gold lace has a lot of bling in person, so it’s better for a festive or formal affair (if x-short is ok). As everyone notes, this dress is really short – but if you’re petite like me (5”0’) it’s a good length. It seemed to run a bit small. My usual size 0 was sold out, but the 2 turned out to be better. Although I sized up, the sleeves and bust were a little tight (had padded bra on). The lace in the arms is comfortable (as is the whole dress) but prone to snagging, even on itself. The inside black layer is jersey. Could be worn all seasons. On the sexy side for a work event or conservative affair, but perfect for parties, fancy dates or a night on the town. I was happy with this rental, it really made my night.

A fantastic RTR experience - my boyfriend adored this dress, and I got so many compliments. It made me feel beautiful! I really loved the peacock detailing in the neckline – makes this dress perfect for any formal occasion, or even an elegant dinner (I wore it for a fancy birthday dinner). Also, you won’t need a necklace with this dress. I’m 35”B, 25”, 35” and my usual 0 fit perfect. The tailoring is very high quality, and the lines hug every curve without being tight, making it quite comfortable to wear. A few reviewers said it felt “matronly” – in my opinion the cause is the dress length. On anyone 5’5”, or under, it’s rather long. I’m 5’0” and it hit my knees. However, with a few gentle gold safety pins, I lifted the hemline to fit my taste just right. Have no worries about this dress – it’s stunning in person, and fits your body like a glove.

This is a flattering dress, and a great fit for petites. But I ended up not wearing it because of visible wear and tear. Considering its popularity, I guess that was to be expected. Nonetheless the dress looked nice on (from a distance) and I would probably have worn it anyway for a party event. But it was for a dinner date, and the wear was too obvious up close. That said, RTR has great customer service and solved the problem right away by sending out another style.

I was surprised how great this dress made me look, and it got a lot of attention. The long sleeved lace is flattering and makes you look toned. The solid black fabric is thick, but stretchable. With my C cup, it was totally unnecessary to wear a bra because the front fabric is tight. It's not a dress which showcases the breasts, instead it calls attention to so many other beautiful curves in the body, from the waist to the back. The lace is where the eyes go. It's both sexy and classy. Length was great on me as a petite, at 5"0' tall it was 5-6 inches down my thigh (above mid-way). It's also a remarkably comfortable dress. I'd say it could be worn year round - I wore it on a cold winter night and was warm enough. For accessories, a choker necklace worked best with the neckline. I wore this dress for my boyfriend's birthday party - he couldn't take his eyes off of it!

Very beautiful, I wore it as a bride's maid in a wedding with a long black Badgley Mischka dress. It was lovely without being too flashy. I would buy it if that were an option. This is a gorgeous, classy dress with sex appeal. Luxurious gold-black lace over turquoise silk. It looks good both day and night, but evening light brings out a lovely gleam. Based on fit, I would recommend this dress mainly to petites. I am 5’0 and the dress stopped just 2" below my derriere, and it kept moving up while I walked. Although my usual size is 0, I reserved the 2 and the 4 – glad I did. The 2 squeezed and flattened me in the hip/butt/leg area – it was wearable, but it looked as uncomfortable as it felt. The fabric holding everything together is silk – and has zero stretch. However, the size 4 fit me perfect. It was still skin tight, but I was comfortable and it looked more flattering. For reference, my measurements are: 35C, 25, 35. If you’re close to this, try a size 4. This dress can fit you like a glove without squishing the curves out of you - just be aware it runs a size or so smaller than usual. My dress had arrived with a ripped seam, but RTR rushed me a new one overnight. Thanks RTR! Overall, a unique and stunning dress.

I wore this to a high school reunion - it is perfect for a casual, summertime, cocktail event. The dress got lots of compliments. The lurex has a lovely subtle shimmer, which is most evident in daylight. On a petite frame, the hemline is close to the knee. The top is close fitting but somewhat stretchy. I'm 35, 25, 35 and the size 38 fit just right on top and slightly loose on the hips. I docked one star because as another reviewer mentioned, this dress would require tailoring for most people - the straps were at least an extra two inches too long on me and required pinning under the dress.
