Flattering for work or weekend
I had planned to wear this for a weeknight birthday dinner with my husband. Instead I ended up wearing it to work with maroon leggings and booties (the dress is navy, not black.) The 4 fit better than the 6, even though I'm typically a 6 - I wanted something a little tighter so I didn't look bigger than I am (9m postpartum). I have long legs and it (at least the 4) was a little shorter than I prefer for work, but I did get a lot of compliments.

Unflattering
I rented this dress for a casual daytime birthday celebration at a brewery. Was disappointed that even with the smaller size, it seemed large and very unflattering - not great when I'm finally feeling like myself 9 months postpartum. Specifically made my shoulders seem wider, obviously no waist definition, and just seemed boxy.

Easy, comfortable maternity dress for birthday party
I probably could have worn the small, but it looked like an entirely different dress -- my 25 week bump was accentuated and smaller arms, but it was less forgiving/comfy and much shorter. The medium was very comfortable though not totally obvious that it was a maternity dress (my tired pregnancy eyes might give it away!) Got lots of compliments.

Easy NYE dress for cold weather -- and accommodating of a 16w baby bump
I didn't think I'd be showing so early as a first time mom, but I had a definitive bump at 16 weeks and wanted something loose, still form-fitting in the waist, and trendy for New Year's Eve. This fit the bill. I thought I would need to wear the medium (and probably would have without tights, as it was short!), but the small was fine. The fabric up top (and not closing the clasp at my neck) made me look a little larger than I am, but it was a solid dress! [Not a great photo-sorry!]

Very soft, casual dress - didn't wear
The wrap-esq style of the dress made me feel uncomfortable and that I'd fall out of the it. It also fit very well in areas and too tight in others. It wasn't anything special so I decided not to keep it to wear. Very soft with pockets!

"Summer in a dress"
This was the second time I rented this dress this summer. I was so obsessed the first time and didn't take any photos (!) so I found another opportunity (a fun night out with my husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law). My SIL immediately called it "summer in a dress" which is incredibly accurate. It hugged me in the best way possible, accentuated my waist, and had a little room so my stomach didn't look awful. I am in between a 4 and 6 and wore the 6. Easy with a strapless bra, wedges, and matching earrings.

Gorgeous coral color, fun shape for a nautical/semi-casual wedding
This was my THIRD and final attempt at a dress for a wedding -- and luckily I LOVED it. (RtR customer service is great.) I wore a strapless bra and low wedges since the wedding was pretty casual/on a sailing dock. The dress accentuated my waist but also allowed me to eat all the cake and wine and not show my belly. The color was so pretty. I got many compliments all night and from photos after the fact!

Unflattering in mid-section - couldn't wear!
I don't have perfectly flat abs but also think of myself as pretty skinny -- but for some reason this dress fell in such a way that it was incredibly unflattering around the mid-section. I didn't want to have to suck in or wear spanx to the summer wedding. Others look great in this dress, so maybe my torso is weird so it hits at the wrong spot -- but I didn't feel confident enough in it. The dress is a beautiful yellow. And with a little tape, you could definitely wear a regular bra!

Fun, flouncy wedding guest dress!
I was nervous about the dark colors for a Maine summer wedding, but someone else used the word "flouncy" on a review -- and that quality combined with the pretty green color made it very appropriate. I fit into the 4 as well (I am always between a 4 and 6); while I could have worn either size, the 6 gave me a tiny bit extra room in my rib cage (for cake) and was a little longer (for dancing). I got a lot of compliments and felt great!

Much too large to wear
I really wanted to love this dress! I'm between a 4 and a 6 in dresses and I got the 2 based on other reviews. The 0 might have worked, but even the 2 had so much fabric around my midsection that it looked awful and like I had no waist (which is my smallest part). If you try the dress, definitely go two sizes down at least.

Flowy, cool dress for 95 degree wedding
I had an enjoyable experience with this dress and received a lot of compliments all night. I was at an outdoor, spring wedding in NC (95 degrees) and the flowy and non-wrinkle material saved me. The colors are gorgeous. You need a strapless bra - and it can be dressed up or down with shoes/accessories. Since it's not structured at the waist, I felt that the dress made me look a little bigger than I am - but overall I really loved it! If it wasn't so memorable, I'd rent it again. ;)

Unique & chic winter birthday dinner dress
It's tough to find a great long sleeved dress -- and while sometimes during the night I would fondly refer to my dress as an ice skating costume (mostly due to the puffed shoulders and having recently watched I, Tonya), I got many compliments and I was comfortable all night. I was between the 36 and 38, and while I could have worn the 36, I was able to move/breathe a little better in the larger one. Great colors and details. Wore easily with black tights and booties.

Fantastic end-of-summer dress for our anniversary
This dress was very comfortable, had a great pattern, and couldb e dressed up or down. I rented it for dinner out in Newport for my wedding anniversary. I am in between sizes 4 and 6; I could have likely worn the 4 - but with the structure of the dress, it definitely would not have allowed much room for the huge dinner+dessert I consumed that evening. I didn't love the cape-y thing on the back of the dress, but I have to say it was great not having to worry about strap/bra adjustments! Would love to own this one - incredibly versatile and fun.

Wedding attire was "summer festive" - and this dress fit the bill perfectly
The dress fit very well and was so classy! I am in between a 4 and 6 these days--4s for most dresses--and the 4 fit like a glove. I was getting compliments all night. The colors were so vibrant and the details were stunning. I wore a strapless bra with low-key accessories (small earrings). I love this dress so much and wish I could own it!!

Comfortable & sparkly for NYE
I wanted to love this dress, especially because it's very comfortable, has sparkles, and I can wear a regular bra with it, but I feel like the ruching actually made my waist look larger than I am. (I didn't try the smaller size, but perhaps that would have helped?) That being said, it was an appropriate outfit for a low-key NYE out with friends.

Gorgeous dress but way too small
This was a backup to a backup dress - and thus they only sent one size. I really love the dress but it is much too small. As others have pointed out, it runs small - but as a true size 4 and not being able to zip it up at all, it's worse than was even described. Maybe I'll try again for a future event!

Fun and unique pattern
My father-in-law was receiving an honor at his former school/employer, so I wanted something conservative but fun for the family event. (Full disclosure: I had rented another dress for a different event that weekend and my back-up size was damaged and unable to be shipped to me - so I received this piece as an apology/substitute.) Great spring pattern and the thick material helped because it was a cold and rainy day. The tags were still on my dress so it was not very worn in; because of this, the material was a bit stiff, and coupled with the thick material, it was a bit uncomfortable and made me feel bigger than I am. The small sleeves began to dig into me later in the evening as well. Probably wouldn't rent again but it got the job done!

Great for husband's 30th Birthday Surprise - easy to wear, very comfortable
This dress was incredibly easy to wear - soft material, snaps and hooks in all the appropriate places... I wasn't 100% satisfied because after a few drinks and food, the unforgiving material showed my stomach sticking out a bit. Overall, though, I got compliments (as I always do for RtR dresses) and I was comfortable throughout the night. May want to use fashion tape to keep the wrap part of the dress in place. Easy to accessorize and you can wear a normal bra!

Fun and trendy dress for fall/winter upscale casual event!
I really loved this dress that I rented for my birthday celebration--a low-key dinner and drinks with a big group of friends (at a trendy bar). I paired it with dark tights and boots, which dressed it down enough for the occasion. (I would not rent the dress in the summer since without opaque tights I would not have been comfortable in it.) Although it was a shift dress, I thought it was fitted enough that it was still flattering. Great colors, comfy material - lots of compliments!

Alternative LBD for NYE
The backup size for the dress I originally ordered for NYE was damaged and unable to be sent, so RTR offered to send me another dress - thank goodness for that! I ended up wearing this one instead! The dress fits true to size and you can wear a normal bra with it. I would have been a little uncomfortable had I worn it without opaque tights, as the higher side of the skirt is definitely high; but the tights+booties look was appropriate for the swanky dinner and outing. The side zipper was VERY difficult to zip (my husband and I spent ten+ minutes on it), but once it was up it was flattering, comfortable, and a bold statement piece without being a simple little black dress.

Not fit for NYE
I wanted to love this dress! The fabric is thick and great for winter, you can wear a normal bra, and the colors are great... However, it creates such a boxy shape that even though I am fairly thin, I looked much larger than I am, especially up top. I am not sure if a necklace or anything like that would have helped to break it up a little bit, but I was unable to wear this out. The skirt part of the dress fit very well on my waist, so it was not a matter of size - you simply couldn't see my waistline and the blue top stuck out too much to flatter my figure.

Great dress for date OR wedding; amazing color & lots of compliments
I rented this dress for my first wedding anniversary -- a night complete with a fancy dinner out and drinks at the hotel whiskey bar. The 2 was my backup and was a little tight but flattered my small waist much better than the 4 (my normal size). The cut/fabric of the dress is very forgiving and can be worn with a normal bra (thank goodness). Added pink wedges and earrings but I could easily wear statement earrings and heels for a wedding look. I am glad the 2 worked out better than the 4 because the 4's "peephole" top had come apart, and it's a very different look when it's more of a V neck top. Love RtR and highly recommend this dress!

Vibrant, fun dress comfortable for dancing all night!
This back-up dress really came through for me after the dress that I loved did not fit right. The dress was a great color, very comfortable, and the fabric was appropriate for the summer but thick enough to hide any problem areas. The zipper was broken in the back--but I managed to make it work as best I could. I think I may have been able to fit into the 2--it doesn't run big per se, but I have a small waist and there was definitely some extra fabric there. I completed the outfit with nude pumps and purse and statement earrings.

Classy/edgy - but a bit unforgiving in stomach area
I really wish I could have worn this dress! I love how classy it looks with a little bit of edge. Beautiful color for summer wedding dress

Fun NYE dress
The sparkly-ness of the dress was really great for NYE. While I ended up wearing the 2 because it fit me better in the waist and the skirt wasn't at poofy, I did feel pretty sucked in; could have used a dress exactly between a 2 and 4. Besides being so tight, the dress was comfortable and forgiving--and definitely not a boring LBD.

I didn't find much difference between the S or M--but went with the M because I think it was a tad longer. As people have said, it's a scuba material so it's very tight, but the busy print helps and it really sucks you in in the waist. I got many compliments all night, even before people noticed that I had symmetrical animals on my dress!

Chic, well-fitting dress--perfect for fall wedding
I absolutely adored this ML dress from RTR that I rented for a Charlottesville, VA wedding. The color is so vibrant, the fit is expensive-looking (and really accentuated my waist!), and the lace is beautiful and not at all itchy. You can wear a strapless bra comfortably under the dress. I got a ton of compliments all night long and once I posted photos on social media. Highly recommend.

Fun, versatile dress--wore for post-wedding brunch
I rented the 4 (my normal size) and the 2--and the 4 was way too big in the bust and waist. I wore it for our post-wedding brunch, but I can definitely see dressing it up for a wedding or other formal event. Comfortable and both sizes were in very good condition...looks and feels very high quality.

Perfect for my Rehearsal Dinner--felt beautiful and bridal
Great first experience with RTR. I ordered this dress in a 4 and 2, hoping desperately I could wear one of them for my Rehearsal Dinner (I had a backup if not...) The 4 fit like a glove--not too short, great cinching at the waist, and not too tight on my back or boobs. My skin is super sensitive but I hardly noticed the lace; the dress was very comfortable. My main issue with the dress, as others have mentioned, is that the slip came below the lace part of the dress, so I had to get creative with "pinning" it up. This happened on both of my sizes, but with my own tweaking, I got compliments all night long.
