Lots of Compliments
I wore this for an American Heart Association Luncheon. I received a lot of compliments on this dress and though it was a little too dressy for the daytime event, the color and style suited me very well. I usually wear a 12 but knew that I would be sitting for most of the event, so I wore the size 14 which was too big on the top but had room to sit comfortably. The dress is very subtle about the mini-dress length underneath the gorgeous lace and sequins. It is heavy and scratchy but had the right amount of drama for me. Overall, I was pleased.

Dramatic colors
I like this designer very much and have worn long gowns of his before. This dress was comfortable, and the gathers on the skirt did not make the dress overly full. Plus it had pockets! Ultimately I wore another dress that I rented for the same wedding. The colors of this dress are dramatic, but "very blue/black" which would look better on either a blond or a warmer skin tone.

Dramatic dress
The waist on the size 12 was too small for me, and so I wore the 14 which was a little big in the bust. I have small shoulders so the boat neck style created a little too much fabric in the front, and I spent the night adjusting by holding my shoulders back and pulling the dress down. The details of this dress are amazing. Completely lined in black, beautiful fabric- the gold "splashes" are especially dramatic, pockets!!, and piping to define the bodice. The dress does flare out on its own. You must either wear a strapless bra or go without one. I thought that the back was lower than a bra, so I went without. This dress was amazing, even with the small issues I had. I wore earrings and a bracelet and no necklace. I thought the fabric would speak for itself, especially when sitting down.

Lightweight and subtle LBD
I did not care for the way this dress fit. The neckline is actually lower than on the model, almost a boat neck in my opinion. It does not show this well, but the edging to the neckline and short sleeves is a satin fabric that is also the liner. It is too lightweight to keep the neckline from sagging. The fabric is beautiful- but, very lightweight. The sequins are actually sandwiched between two pieces of fine netting- so it is very subtle. I would have had to wear a full control garment to prevent the material from clining to all my worst spots. On the model, it looks wonderful because she has a great figure. But this dress is very unforgiving.

Beautiful lace, excellent LBD
This is a beautiful dress. Like other reviewers, I found the dress long. I am 5'5 1/2", and it hit me just below the knee. (But for my age, it was good.) I had difficulty with the lining to the dress. The lining is only tacked at one point in the shoulder area, so the lining shifted and many times I could see the top of my bra cup. The lining is cut low so that the lace shows off your upper chest area. This lining needs to be tacked in so that it doesn't shift while wearing. Otherwise, I found the dress to be a solid weight, which was very good for an evening in December in the Houston, Texas area. It would be too warm to wear in another season. I am curvy, and the dress fit nicely. I did wear a heavy control garment thorugh the waist and hips to smooth the look, and wore pantyhose. I wore just a bracelet, earrings and rings because the lace is so intricate and I didn't want to spoil the effect. A small black Chanel evening bag finished my look. I did receive compliments.

Subtle pattern, stylish look
Love, love, love this dress. I am between sizes, so the 12 looked ok, but the 14 draped better. It is a sheath, you pull this dress on over your head. Amazingly, the armholes don't get exponentially bigger with the dress size- so I just felt much better in the looser- drapier fit. The tie in the front has one part which is much longer, so I think it is meant to tie closer to the center of the dress- which I did and it looked fine. I am long-waisted so this hit me above the waist but not under the bust- more stylish without that "trying too hard to be young look" . I am also an hour glass figure, so had no probelm with the dress draping well and still showing off some curves. I did wear a shaper underneath to help the dress hang better. The pattern is very subtle- a grey/black animal print that is overlayed with grey/silver sequins- shiny but not blindingly. Loved that it had the holders for bra straps under each shoulder. The v neck was low, but no cleavage showed which I liked. The length was just under my knee cap- also perfect. I got rave reviews from the 20- somethings- and I am 58! Thanks RTR! I would love to rent more dresses! I live in a smallish town, and socialize with a regular group- so this was perfect for me! Wear an up to date dress, but not have to invest a small fortune to look great!

Channeling "Mad Men"
Oh, how I wish I had been able to wear this dress size 12. It runs small, and being between two sizes right now, I needed a 14. Alas! The back is the best part! The lace gives this dress a vintage feel with modern look.
