The material was great, but definitely had no give.  I usually wear a 6, but wore the 8 in this. I got lots of compliments.  The fabric just looks so rich. 

Thanks again to the customer support people at RTR—my original rental was not available in either size, so after letting them know this was my first rental post-pregnancy, they helped me search for a replacement and style my outfit. LOVED this! It accentuated my smallest parts and hid my post-baby belly. The fabric was a little stiff, but not in a bad way—just sturdy. I liked it. Received many compliments throughout the night!

This dress was great for what I needed it for -- a classy, late night formal work event. The gold was perfect and made me stand out in a really big way -- I got compliments left and right all night on how great I looked. The gold really, really popped. 

However, I don't think I'd ever wear it by just itself. I think my accessories and style choices were what put it over the top, because while it looked great, it didn't have the WOW factor until I put it all together. Also, The dress ran SUPER small. I normally wear a 14-16 in dresses. They were out of 18s, so I settled for renting the second size of a 20. Thank goodness I did. 

It fit OKAY, but was too big in a few places, predominantly the bust and shoulder area as a result, which was a non-issue because I was wearing my blazer regardless. 

Overall, an okay dress, but I don't think I'd rent again. Compared to a Monique I rented a few months ago, it felt a little cheaper, but still worked great for my event.

Gorgeous dress with such a comfortable fit - it fit like a glove.  Plenty of room in the chest for us well endowed ladies. LOVED that it had pockets!

Rented this dress in a 4 and 6. I'm typically in between sizes and figures the 6 would be the better option but to my surprise the 6 was smaller than the 4! Wore the 4 even though it was a bit snug. I couldn't even get the 6 to zip! I'm assuming sizing error. Thank goodness I got 2 dresses!

Ladies! This dress is my all time favorite one I've ever rented!!! 

Word of advice: Do NOT get hung up on the size number. Order one and two sizes bigger than your normal one. I'm normally a 16W and ordered the 18W and 20W and wore the 20W. I could have done the 18 but it was just slightly too snug in the waist to be comfortable eating/drinking/dancing all night.

Didn't wear or need a bra as the chest was fitted and the seams actually made my boobs look great!  The pockets are awesome - I didn't even bring a purse to the wedding.

Wore it with black tights and black ankle boots - it was a hit! Compliments all night long. Don't miss this one!


I originally rented a different dress that didn't fit and was able to swap it out for this dress at the Georgetown store. The material is a bit stiff and a little heavy, but the dress is beautifully constructed and the fit is incredibly flattering, especially if you have a booty! The dress also has pockets, which is perfect for a wedding, and the pattern is a fun change from the classic LBD. Everyone from the parents of the groom, to family friends, to the wedding coordinators complimented me on the dress. The back is a little low, but I was still able to wear a regular bra (just had to loosen the straps a bit and had my husband on "bra patrol" to make sure it wasn't peaking out throughout the night).

I am in love with this dress, I wish I could keep it! I got this as a replacement for a dress that was damaged. So glad I did! The dress is super comfortable, and has pockets to keep my cell phone and lip balm close all night. I loved that this was a LBD but with a twist. I wasn't able to wear a regular bra with this, but a strapless worked just fine. Got so many compliments!

This was the perfect dress for a silent auction fundraising event that I helped plan. I was afraid of the dress being too long on me, but it hit me right at the knee. Extremely flattering fit, especially for someone like me that's on the curvy side. I received tons of compliments. Will definitely rent again.

I ordered the 10 and the 12 for back up.  I wore the 12 because the 10 was tight in the ribcage area.  I loved how the 12 fit.  I got tons of compliments.

The dress has no stretch so it felt tight.  I probably should have ordered the 6 but it wasn't available. The fabric is really beautiful and I received tons of compliments, even though I could barely breathe.

This is such a cute fit for someone short like myself. Perfect length for a wedding event. I felt like an 50s housewife and I loved it!

I wore this dress to a wedding in Arizona last weekend. Though the material was a bit thick for the 100* weather, the fit was snug yet comfortable and the length was perfect. With the high neckline in front, I was thankful for the lower back to balance it out. The material is structured enough to go braless and maintains the darted full skirt. I wore my own belt (a thin black leather belt with a gold hardware clasp) to add a bit of my own style. I also splurged on gold drop earrings and a bracelet (and went without a necklace). The 2 fit me in the Soho store but the 4 was more comfortable - especially in the arm holes. I have a long, straight torso and this dress gave me a skinny waistline! I received an overabundance of complements and felt so pretty and regal. I would totally rent this dress again. 

Wore this dress to an event and it was perfect. One issue was it didn't come with its belt. Fit like a glove. 

The dress fit like a dream,  great quality, high end construction.  Received loads of compliments and made me feel tremendously beautiful.  My new go-to dress shop! 

I did a reading at my friend's wedding and wanted to be formal but still comfortable since I had to get up in front of 200 strangers. I'm busty but it was such a great combination of structured and comfortable that I didn't need to wear a bra. I have narrow hips and the full skirt perfectly balanced out my shoulders. It's perfect for top heavy gals. And it has pockets so I could dance all night and keep my phone nearby without sacrificing my wine glass! 

This dress fit like a dream for the most part.  I have a smaller waist and a larger bottom, so the style worked with my shape beautifully.  As other reviewers have mentioned, it runs a little snug.  I ordered both a 10 (my normal size) and a 12 and the 12 was far too big to wear.  The 10 worked just fine!  I got a lot of compliments on the dress and many people asked if I had lost weight! Ha - major perk! :) 

This dress is perfect for a fun event like a NYE wedding or any other fancier party.  You will get noticed!

This was a great dress and I got tons of complements! My only complaint is that I had to wear a strapless bra (or no bra) because the straps sit wide on the shoulders and it cuts in a lot in the front. 

It is not easy finding a flattering fit with a quality fabric in a plus size. Usually there's a whole lot of fabric that is useless.
I did find a special strapless bra as the bust area is fitted and a regular bra just didn't fill the space well. Got lots of compliments and didn't feel that the dress was "too young" for my age or my body type. 
Loved it so much just rented again for an engagement party. Got lots of compliments- especially about the unique fabric.

OMG this dress is everything. It fit so perfectly and is STUNNING in person. I wore it to a family wedding and received compliments all night. It's incredibly comfortable, easy (no special bras/panties needed!) and flattering as well, especially for hourglass or pear shapes. I rented size 4 and 6 and honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. I went with the 6 because the clasp was broken on the 4. It went perfectly with the Slate and Willow necklace I rented. I wanted to keep it and wear it permanently. Can't wait to rent it again!!

I wore this dress to a large company banquet I planned -- it was perfect! I got the 14 and the 16 but wore the 14 -- it was a bit snug around the ribs but not terrible and I was afraid the 16 would make me look too poofy. Packing for delivery and returning was classy, clean and efficient! 
Rent the Runway saved me SO MUCH time and effort at a time when I was very professionally overwhelmed. I will absolutely take advantage of this service again this year.

I selected this dress when my first pick had been returned too damaged, and I'm so happy I ended up with this one! I LOVED this dress and wish I could've kept it forever! It fit me like a glove. I read a number of people complain about it being a bit too tight in the shoulders/chest, but that was not the case for me. I have a very short torso and usually need to have straps brought up - this dress fit PERFECT as is, which is so rare! It was super high quality fabric, a stiff-but not uncomfortable material. Oh, and pockets for the win!

Such a fun dress. Comfortable and great to dance in. Wore this for a November wedding. The RnR stylist in the SoHo store made me try it on because i would have NEVER picked it out. Within seconds of putting it on I didnt even try the rest of them on. I rented this one. LOVED. (I would say order one size up for rib cage, I'm a 32 bust and a size 4 normally and it was a little tight so I got the 6) 

Very comfortable to wear and I chose to go without a bra because the back is pretty low.  Because of the fabric and the construction of the dress, the girls stayed right where they belonged!  The pockets came in handy for Kleenex at the wedding ceremony.  Lots of compliments.  I wish I owned this dress!

Wore this for a work gala and received many compliments! I had tried on the dress in store a few months back and decided this was the event to wear it for and so I got the 16W and 18W sent. Even though it was a little tight across the bust (I went braless because of the wide set straps) and rib cage (pulled a bit across), it was extremely comfortable to wear and I loved the shape of the dress due to the tulle under the skirt. Due to traffic, I missed happy hour then remained seated for the rest of the night, so I will definitely be renting this dress again when I get to stand up and dance the night away!

Beautiful and comfortable dress. The straps sit wide on the shoulder so I had to wear a strapless bra. 

One word; pockets! Also it had a nice flow and was super flattering. The only con was that it was a tad tight in the bust area. Overall a great dress!

I normally wear a 16, but in this dress needed the 18 to accommodate my chest of 40D.  (The website selection of bust sizes only goes up to 38 but I go beyond that!)  It zipped but it was tight .   I am 5'8" and the length was good - just above the knee.  The fabric is a little stiff so it stands up some, but the shape is very pretty.  I rented the necklace also on the advice of a fellow renter, and she was right - it went very well.  I got a number of complements on the necklace (dress too!)

Had a wedding at an Opera House and my first choice did not come in. RTR got this dress to me in 1 day and it worked perfect. Loved the cut of the dress, the pockets and the fabric. My chest was little tight in the fabric up top but overall it was a perfect dress!

I wore this dress for a fundraiser at a private club where the dress code was cocktail attire.  I received compliment after compliment!  I am normally a size 0 or 2,  In this dress, I needed a 0.    It is a classic style.   It fit me perfectly and made the most of my figure.  It made my waist look small and the poofy-ness of the dress allowed it to cover any tummy bulge.    Yes, its poofy but I personally think it is a very pretty and sophisticated look.  Classy length for me .  No shortening needed.  The black and shiny gold went well together in the pattern.   The metallic gold looked like large gold paint strokes.  I wore black Ferragamo platform open toe pumps.  Gold could have worked too.  Same with accessories.  I wouldn't mind owning this dress!!!

The dress fit perfectly, I am 5'8 1/2" and it was perfectly long enough. The colors were gorgeous and really popped. I got tons of compliments and everyone wanted to know where I got it! 

So like some previous posters have said, it is tight on top; I thought that have me a better shape though so I was happy about that. Tight on top, but loose enough on the bottom so you can eat without guilt! 

If I could have bought this, I would have!
