I decided to go with this dress, but I chanced it with the size 2 since the zero was unavailable. I did not wear this. The 2 was big and not flattering. There was no definition in the waist because of the excess material. I think the 0 would have been stunning. The material is slightly stretchy and maybe it was stretched out from multiple wearings. I would recommend going down in size if you are on the slender side and have a small bust.

I finally decided to try Herve Leger. I wore it for a high school reunion. I am not tall and many of the dresses look too long and too tight. I picked one that looked short on the 5'10" model. It fit perfectly on my 5'4" frame and hit a few inches above my knee. Thanks to warnings by other reviewers I was not discouraged when it was difficult to zip and seemed too tight. It molded to my body and was so comfortable. I got tons of compliments and the color was very rich. A bra is not needed, making it even more comfortable. The Small was not available so I could not compare that to the XS I wore. I will say that the Small probably would hae been too large in the shoulders for me.

I rented this for a high school reunion. I paired it with a Herve Leger dress. It fit my narow wrist perfectly and it was so comfortable I forgot I was wearing it. Often bracelets are just too heavy for my liking.

This is the 4th Kate Spade I have rented, and the 2nd one that was too large. I received a 0 and 2. The zero was too large and it was hard to tell how the dress would look if the fit was right. It is a light weight material, light lavender with gold embellishment. Could be pretty on the right skin tone and right body - just not mine. Luckily, the back up Herve Leger was amazing!

Rented this for a night bar mitzvah. Actual real pieces of metal are sewn to lace fabric. Did not expect heavy type metal pieces, but it was comfortable. Looks great with low lights and on a dance floor. Would be a little strange for a daytime event. For me, the dress was true to size. It hit me mid-thigh. Wore it with shimmerfy silver hose and black sandals. Would also make a nice work-related holiday party dress - not too exposed. Neckline is wide, so requires strapless bra or no bra. for the small chested.

This dress runs very very large. I ordered a zero and it looked terrific after I pulled the back in by 5-6 inches. I think you need a very large bust to fill it out. A 00 would have been too narrow in my shoulders. I was disappointed b/c this could be a really great dress. On me, it looked like I was wearing a potato sack. Normally, I am a size zero, sometimes a 2. I would suggest ordering 1-2 sizes smaller unless you have a very large bust.

I rented this dress for a corporate weekend outing. it is stunning and I got a lot of compliments. I do think it was made for a taller person though. Also - it is much better suited to a large bust. The top looked really puffy on me and I had to use doublesided tape to keep down the fabric. I ordered the 34 and 36. Usually I am a zero. However, the waist on the 34 was REALLY tiny and the 36 fit more comfortably. If you are the right shape, and you want something feminine and sophisticated, you won't go wrong wth this dress.
