Fun, comfortable, flattering dress for black tie / black tie optional wedding
I wore this to a black tie optional wedding in the Dominican Republic over Thanksgiving. The material is quite light and easy to move around in. It was great for traveling because the material doesn't wrinkle. I liked that it is formal but not boring. I got a lot of compliments from friends. The dress is very stretchy; both the XS and S fit fine for me but on the XS the horizontal seam (as part of the tiering design on the skirt) hit in a less flattering place on my thigh so I wore the S.

I found this dress comfortable and flattering. Note: it is a "true" red / fire engine red, even though the model's pic looks a bit orange. I rented with some orange earrings (https://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/elizabeth_cole/odessa_drop_hoop_earrings) that looked a bit red-orange but turned out to be true orange, so I was unable to wear them together. Was able to wear a regular bra even though it has a unique back cutout.

Can dress up or down; multiple neckline styles. Too billowy for me though/not very flattering
wore this dress to a formal wedding in Toronto in July. PROS: I like the pattern and material a lot. You can dress it up or down (for more or less formal depending on the occasion), and wear the neck several ways (off-shoulder, one-shoulder, or strapless). CONS: There is a TON of material so I found it less flattering than some other silhouettes; I felt a little shapeless in the billowing style. Overall I didn't feel like it highlighted my body. Also, not a pro or con necessarily, but I had a shoe mishap and at the last minute had to switch to flats; the SR was definitely way too long for me in flats (I'm 5'5.5").

I liked this dress a lot. Beautiful color, can dress up or down easily. I didn't find it unflattering for myself personally, but it wasn't especially forgiving either (doesn't hide imperfection). The one note is that the slit goes up pretty high. It's not bad / super noticeable when standing, but when you sit, basically the folds of the dress fall down and totally expose your thighs. If I hadn't had a pashmina with me to use to cover my lap, I would've felt very exposed during the wedding ceremony. Overall though I liked this dress and would recommend

One of my favorite RTR rentals.
One of my favorite RTR rentals. Would be fun with some colorful earrings and/or shoes (though I did not go that route myself). Fit true to size; no stretch in the fabric. It hit a little longer on me than in the model's photos (I mean duh, I'm not a model's height, but perhaps worth knowing that it hits just above the ankle rather than at tea length). It was about 100 degrees outside at the wedding I wore this to, and there were no visible signs on the dress of how sweaty / swampy I was :)

many compliments
I rented this for a fall "black tie preferred" wedding in New Hope Pennsylvania. I got a number of compliments on the dress and felt very comfortable. Thanks to the double layer nature of the bust area I was able to go without a bra (a blessing since strapless ones don't usually fit me well). Floor length gowns are always harder to dance in than shorter ones but relatively speaking I could move in this one just fine. Flattering cut and unique color. I paired with tan/nude colored pointy toe heels and the Alexis Bittar rose gold color blocked crescent bib necklace https://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/alexis_bittar/rose_color_blocked_crescent_bib_necklace. Overall I recommend!

flattering silhouette
I wore this dress for a late summer afternoon black tie optional wedding at a farm in Carmel CA. It has a very flattering silhouette and I received several compliments (one from someone who said she nearly rented the same dress for the event...thankfully she did not!). The top ran slightly big for me; I agree with other reviewers that fashion tape is a valuable idea for this dress. There were certain moments where I felt it was a little too long (I bent over to pick up something and almost tripped getting out from under all the fabric) but otherwise comfortable. High quality material. I thought it paired well with the Kate Spade CLINK OF ICE DOUBLE STRAND NECKLACE. Overall I would recommend!

I wore this to a wedding in Greenwich CT last week. As other reviews note it is heavy material so looks a little more formal. I rented the 2 and 4 and was able to fit into the 2. It is definitely tight and slimming in the waist and up area. It has pockets -- unpopular opinion, I don't love pockets; their practicality is overrated and they tend just to add a lot of fabric in the hip area unnecessarily. The black in it makes it easy to match. You can undo the button at the top to make it a little less formal / conservative. Overall I liked this dress and would rent again.

I wore this dress for a friend's engagement party. I liked that was classy enough for an early evening party (6:30-9pm) but I also didn't feel overdressed / out of place when we went out to bars afterward. I always rent a 4 as my main size; however, since the reviews were mixed regarding fit (some said it ran large, others said it ran small) I was definitely torn on which backup size to get. Since it's a tighter dress by nature I went with the 6 as a backup, but I did not even try the 6 on. I probably would have ended up wearing the 4 anyway but personally wish I would have tried on the 2. I have a small upper body and the 4 top was a little loose but not uncomfortably so. Be aware that the back is sort of racerback so you can't wear a regular style bra. Also the top is a little bit thin material so I would also recommend a black bra (nude colored one might photograph as see-through). Overall I liked this dress, definitely got compliments, found it flattering, and would consider renting again. It was comfortable and easy to match with accessories.

the fit was worry-free and it had such fun colors!
Really enjoyed this fun two-tone dress! The top is tight (in a good way) and flattering, and then the bottom is flowy / loose / easy to move in. It was nice not to have to worry about making sure the straps stay up or nothing falls out etc etc. If you like wearing white but don't want to upstage a bride this would be a nice option. You can dance all night in this dress (see pic). Might wash out paler people, but overall I would recommend!

I rented this dress for new year's eve night out last year. The deep navy blue color is a nice change of pace from traditional black. The ruching is very flattering as well - hides any bumps and creates a slimming line. The arm holes & shoulder area were a little small, and it was a little longer than I anticipated (not necessarily bad) but otherwise the fit was great!

classy and flattering
Wore this to my work holiday party and got a ton of compliments. It fits great / is flattering (particularly the waist, gives it some shape). I will warn it is VERY sequiny ... not bad necessarily but it did catch me off guard relative to the photo. It is a good balance between being a flashy color / material but not being too short or low cut to look inappropriate. Highly recommend!

so many compliments even from people I didn't know!
Overall I really liked this dress and so glad I ended up renting it! I got MANY compliments. I rented 4 and 6 and wore 6. The 4 was too short and tight in the seat area for me. The 6 was a little looser / comfortable for a wedding ceremony and reception (dancing!) The shoulders on the 6 were a little loose (I have a small upper frame / torso) but not to the point of being uncomfortable / self conscious.
