Rent based on the size of your ribs, as that's the only fitted part. I wore a 2, and I typically get a 32 in bras. The top runs a little large, no bra needed, but you might want double stick tape to guard against gaps. The bottom is very forgiving and will fit a variety of sizes. Pockets are great!

True to size. Fabric is thicker and lined. You can wear a normal bra and underwear without worry. However, I didn't find a bra necessary - due to snug fit and thick fabric it holds everything in place. Definitely rent based on chest size. The bottom half (stomach and hips area) flares out quite a bit, so it's forgiving.

Forgiving fit, but needs nude colored under-garments. If I was headed out on a date with my husband, I might have opted for the size 2, but given the family photo session I used it for, a 4 was more appropriate.

I received many compliments on this dress. I added a black belt, and I had a black cardigan that I wore part of the time. The fit was great, and the dress has lots of stretch, so there is some give to the sizes. I saw the comments below on worrying whether it was too short to move in. I'm 5'6", and I felt that the dress was long enough to move in comfortably without showing too much skin. This dress is also really great becuase you can wear almost any undergarment without worrying about it showing through.

The dress was true to size, and it had a simple, clean shape that I really liked. The cut wasn't really flattering though. It's very tight to right below the stomach, and then it flares out. This definitely emphasizes the "curves" around your lower stomach and hips. The length was good for the rehearsal dinner I went to, but it might not be ideal for dancing or doing something with a lot of movement.

I ordered a 38 and 40, and I wore the 40 here. Fits great...bottom has stretch while top is looser. Definitely room for give and take in sizes. You really need proper undergarmets on the bottom. The fabric is thick, but it shows every line. Probably works best with spanx-style bottoms, but you need something the same length as the dress. Mine were about two-inches shorter than the dress hem, and you could see the lines on my thighs.
