Shimmer, pockets, and no bra!

FABRIC: Gorgeous, much nicer in person. Use flash for all photos to really make it stand out. Not itchy despite the shimmer. Medium thickness. LENGTH: Hit just above the knee (I'm 5'2) so definitely longer for petite girls than on the model. I think it balances the low cut of the top though so I prefer that it isn't mid-thigh. FIT: True to size. Didn't notice the tightness in the ribcage, but I'm smaller in that area. It was tight in the bust but I've got a large chest (32DD). Definitely gives enough support to be worn without a bra (even for naturally large breasts, like mine, that are obviously more prone to gravity than augmented ones). Made "the girls" look fantastic and almost fake (see the group picture) but I did have to keep adjusting and tucking them in throughout the night. In hindsight, wish I purchased It Stays body adhesive to keep everything in place. CUT: You will have cleavage and tons of it - but if you read the reviews, you already know this. Again, body adhesive would have been helpful (not Hollywood tape since anyone with large breasts knows that is no where near strong enough to hold things in!). Fullness of the skirt is forgiving if you're eating/drinking a lot. Also the pockets are obviously awesome and super convenient. OVERALL: Gave 4 stars due to the tight fit on the bust and feeling like there wasn't quite enough fabric to cover me completely without my breasts popping out a bit. Nonetheless, a comfortable, sexy, shimmery show stopper that was perfect for a holiday party.

Romantic and playful but not as memorable as other styles

I wore this for a fall wedding at a Connecticut vineyard. I'd say this dress runs a little large, because I went with the 2 while I am usually a 4. The 4 fit, but the 2 was a little more form fitting in the bodice, giving me a more defined waist, which I think is important given the volume of the skirt. The sleeves on the 2 were a little snug, which is a probably I typically run into, but nothing I couldn't deal with. The cut allows you to wear a regular bra, which is great for bustier girls like me. The tulle skirt is forgiving even after a night of eating and drinking. The navy lace over the nude is so gorgeous and romantic, and it was perfect for the feel of this particular venue. Overall, I don't really have any complaints about this dress, other than it didn't really feel like a showstopper to me. I save the 5 star ratings for dresses that are so incredible, well made, and flattering that I would seriously consider buying them for full retail value. This one is definitely 4 stars, but didn't quite wow me enough overall to hit 5.

Kardashian curves with Holly Golightly elegance

I wore this dress for a wedding by the Hamptons that I knew would fall on the more formal end of cocktail attire. I rented the S thinking that would be the perfect fit but went with the XS as a backup because I was afraid the S could be a little too long on my 5'2 frame. I noticed just a slight difference in length - not even an inch - between the two, which I think was really due more to the XS fitting more snugly than the S, as opposed to it actually being cut shorter. I ultimately went with the XS because the S seemed to just have too much fabric. There was some bunching happening around my waist right under my bust and across my thighs. The XS felt tighter but, despite me feeling more self-conscious, had a cleaner, more flattering fit (as confirmed by my coworker, who I recruited for an outside opinion). Since XS is usually too small on me, I think this dress runs slightly large. The material is ribbed and really thick, which is perfect for fall/winter weddings, and it seemed to hug my curves while sucking in in the right places to create smooth lines. Honestly, it felt like a dress made out of Spanx, which was pretty great. The best part, though? I DID NOT NEED TO WEAR A BRA! The material was snug enough that I felt supported while avoiding the "pancake" effect. It's already been said by others, but this dress was MADE for enhancing/creating an hourglass shape. The one thing I was nervous about was the length, as noted above, but I think the XS hit me in the perfect spot. That being said, I was also wearing 4.5" stilettos, which I'm sure elongated my silhouette. For petite girls, just be conscious of this and definitely plan on heels instead of flats. My only other complaint was that the armholes of the XS felt a little tight, but I have muscular arms, so that's a common issue for me. All in all, a comfortable, elegant dress that will give you curves for days.

Perfect pop of color

I wore these with the Opening Ceremony "Dark Refined Flutter" dress to add a pop of color, and they were perfect! It was my first time renting earrings, and I was nervous because my earlobes can't handle anything heavy. I think the description given by others is accurate - these aren't feather light, but they're definitely not heavy. They were comfortable enough to wear for 6+ hours which included dancing and even napping on the long car ride to the Hamptons. The color is GORGEOUS, which I think is pretty obvious from the pictures. The stone was slightly frosted and almost reminded me of sea glass. They look well made and expensive. The one complaint I had was that the rubber backs kept sliding to the point that the earrings actually fell off at one point. I had to bend the hook to keep them from coming out of my ear. I think this can be easily solved by swapping out the backs they come with for tighter ones from a pair of earrings you own. Other than that, they were an amazing statement piece and make me want to buy a pair of Kendra Scott earrings for myself!

The colors and pattern make it special

FIT: Pretty typical fit for a classic sheath dress - close to the body without being skin tight. I think the only caveat is the sleeves, which obviously cut in a little, but this can be addressed by wearing a racerback bra (or using a Strap Perfect). This does run a little larger in my opinion since I typically wear size 4 but the 2 fit perfectly. I had the 0 for my backup so I'd say that the 2 in this particular dress is the equivalent of a regular 4 and the 0 is the equivalent of a regular 2. PROS: The colors and the pattern. hands down. The cut of the dress is nothing crazy. It really is the fabric that makes this a head-turner. CONS: I think that the way the color/pattern blocking is proportioned, it draws the eye to the chest area, which ended up making mine look even bigger than it is. This may not be a con for everyone, but since I'm busty to begin with, I think the extra emphasis wasn't the most flattering.

Badass femininity

LOVE THIS NECKLACE! I wanted something more modern to go with the cut of the dress I rented and had a gold chain in mind. I found this, which seemed perfect. In person, however, it's stunning. The stones in the chain make it so different and dresses it up just the right amount. Wasn't too heavy but also not the most lightweight necklace I've worn (however, I never really mind the weight of necklaces so this isn't an issue for me one way or the other). To be honest, looking back, I don't think I like where it laid with the neckline of this particular dress but that doesn't stop me from giving it a 5 star review. If you like it online, you'll love it even more when it arrives.

Show stopping sex appeal in a classic silhouette

SIZE: Seemed true to size since I usually wear 4 and went with the 4. The 2 was a bit too snug (like most size 2 dresses are), specifically around my bust and my thighs/butt. PROS: First off, the color is stunning. It looks paler online than it does in person. The silhouette is surprisingly flattering, even with the cut-outs, which I was nervous about (I was scared they would cut into my sides and my skin would be pouring over them but that was not the case - the cut-outs lay nicely on my sides without cutting into me). The material is very body hugging, but thick enough that I did not feel self-conscious or that I needed any Spanx. I was able to wear a regular bra but had to adjust every now and then to keep the bottom from showing because of the cut-outs. The length was ok on me, even though I'm shorter (5'2), although I will note that I think the 4.5" stilettos helped with that. I've rented a LOT of dresses and I think this may have been the one I got the most compliments on. It was the perfect look for the venue (a modern museum in NYC). CONS: I will say that I hardly sat at this particular event so I don't know if the cut-outs are as comfortable in a sitting position. Also, as noted above, although you can wear a regular bra, you just have to adjust to make sure the cut-outs don't show the bottom of it. The length can be an issue for shorter girls but I think with the right shoes you can still get away with it without the dress swallowing you (also doesn't hurt that midi dresses are on trend right now, even though I don't think this is supposed to be one). The lining kept showing a little at the hem but I don't think it was anything super noticeable.

Elegant, comfortable, flattering

PROS: I DID NOT HAVE TO WEAR A BRA! This is HUGE because I'm very busty (32DD). As others have stated, the boning in the dress gives enough structure that you can get away without any other support. I thought the length was perfect for my height (5'2) but taller girls may find it a bit short. The off shoulder sleeves lay perfectly, were not too snug, and did not ride up. Overall this was a gorgeous dress both in person and in pictures. More importantly, it was comfortable! I wore it for a family party but it would also make a perfect shower dress for any brides-to-be out there. Also loved that it could be dressed up or down (as I did with the wedge sandals). CONS: The waist band was a little tight, which was one of the reasons I ended up going with the 4 instead of the 2. The other reason was that the tulle on the 2 did not lay right no matter how much adjusting I did. When I examined closer, it looked like someone had actually taken scissors to the underskirt which is why the lace overlay looked lumpy.

The perfect LWD

The length was great on my 5'2 frame. Sometimes the high-low hems make it look like I'm swimming in the dress because I'm petite, but this one didn't. Overall a very flattering cut. It shows off your figure while still being forgiving around the midsection (my girlfriends and I had a huge mexican dinner before hitting the bar for my birthday). It does run large, because I'm usually a 4, MAYBE a 2, but the 2 fit great. The 0 actually zipped up as well, but it was too tight in the arms and shoulders (I have an athletic, muscular build, so that happens a lot). It was a little tight in the bust, but that's more my shape than the dress (I have a 32D/DD chest). The fabric was lighter than I imagined - somehow I pictured it being thicker. The sleeves were just a little too long on me and bunched up a bit around my wrists, but I don't think it was anything too noticeable. One thing I was trying to figure out from the reviews was why the sleeves looked "flowy" in some pictures but not others. There is a zipper that goes about 4 inches up from the wrist that you can unzip to get that split-sleeve, flowy look (I didn't like that so I kept them zipped).

Great color, but a little on the short side and the arms are tight.

It's a shift dress, so I knew it would be a little roomy in the midsection. It wasn't unflattering by any means, but I would have preferred it to be a tad more fitted because I have a larger bust and with looser dresses, I can sometimes look larger than I am (for example, in the picture, the dress ballooned out a little around my stomach, which kind of unflattering). If I had rented the 2, I would have tried that. However, I have muscular arms/shoulders and I think, like others have stated, the arms on the 2 would have been too tight because the ones on the 4 were already a little snug. Love the ribbon to tie the back - it adds a nice detail to the dress. The lace is beautiful and is just a hint lighter than the color of the lining, which really makes it pop. Great color for spring/summer. The length is the thing to be most careful about. I'm 5'2 and even I felt it was a little short when I sat down. So definitely be wary of that if you're taller than me (which, let's face it, most people are).

Stunning color and fabric, but loose straps and a large bust is required

I fit into the 2 and the 4, but went with the 4 because the 2 felt too tight around my ribcage and squeezed my bust in an unflattering way. Like other reviewers have said, the bust is VERY large (small-chested girls stay away!) and the straps are loose. Even with my 32D/DD chest, I had to continuously adjust myself throughout the engagement party, especially because I didn't want too much cleavage showing. Larger chested ladies, be aware that you WILL have cleavage. Fashion tape probably would have helped with minimizing that. The length was ok, but a tad long for my taste on my petite 5'2 frame. I wasn't swimming in it, which was helped by the nipped in waistline, but if I could have shortened it an inch I would have. The shortest part of the hem hit me right above the kneecap. As others have stated, the hemline is asymmetric, but I really liked the look (although not everyone did). The fabric is so soft and photographs beautifully, especially because of the colors. Overall, I really liked the dress and felt great in it. Can't get over how well it photographs.

Too tight everywhere and couldn't wear - otherwise a beautiful dress.

For the first time, I couldn't wear a dress due to fit! The good news is I knew Christian Siriano tends to design for very thin, curve-less women (not me), so I had a backup dress which I wore instead (Halston Heritage Blush Impact Dress). I literally couldn't even get the 4 over my thighs/hips/butt. I would like to note that while I'm not a stick, I'm petite and athletic (I have a very muscular lower half from running, weightlifting, and dancing). I can't comment on the fit up top since I couldn't get the dress that high. What I can say is the material itself is beautiful and it's clearly well constructed. The polka dots have a slight sheen to them, which adds visual interest. The fabric is a bit on the heavy side, but it didn't feel like anything that would be too hot in the spring/summer, especially because of the cut. Also, the top of the slight was ripped slightly, so it looks like someone else had trouble getting into it as well. If you have the body type that Christian Siriano designs for, go for this dress because it is beautiful. If you have curves or an athletic figure, stay away - or if you MUST rent, size way up (I'm usually a 2 or a 4 and like I said, I couldn't even get the 4 over my hips).

Classic shape with contemporary details for the bridal shower I threw as MOH.

FIT: Does run slightly large, because I'm usually a 4 but the 2 fit best (4 would have been too large). Bust is roomy enough for larger chests (I'm 32D/DD). It was slightly snug in the bust but not uncomfortably so. Length was really good on me, but I'm short (5'2) so if you're taller be cognizant of that. I have muscular shoulders and arms, and the construction of the double cap sleeves gave me full range of motion instead of being too tight, which often happens. Wore a regular bra and had no problems with the strap showing in the back, even though the back of the dress is cut a little low. OTHER DETAILS: IT HAS POCKETS! The fabric was less "reptilian" in my opinion, as other reviewers have referred to it. Still a unique fabric that looked and photographed beautifully. OVERALL: 4/5 only due to it being a little snug in the bust. Got compliments from almost everyone at the bridal shower and my bride (I was MOH) even joked that I showed her up by looking so good. People even complimented me more than once. Clearly it was a huge hit and was very comfortable - I was able to decorate, dance, and run all over the place ensuring everything was going smoothly.

Gorgeous twist on the classic LBD

OVERALL: One of my favorite dresses I've ever rented (which is saying something since I've been renting since 2011). Such a great twist on the LBD. Honestly a 5-star dress because there was nothing I would change about it. I even scoured the internet to try to BUY it because I loved it so much, but unfortunately it's sold out everywhere! FIT: I think this runs large because I'm usually a 4 but the 2 fit perfectly. Also great news - no bra needed because of the boning in the bodice (and I'm a 32DD so if I can pull it off sans bra, anyone can). The length was perhaps a little long for me but I'm short (5'2) and with heels I think it looked fine. Some people have mentioned the neck piece being tight, but I didn't notice anything. Very comfortable dress and the skirt is forgiving if you are drinking and eating a lot (which I was). STYLING: I wore gold Kate Spade chandelier earrings and red Jessica Simpson pumps with a red lip. Thought the colors were very holiday appropriate, but the great thing is that black goes with everything.

Gorgeous colors, perfect dress for a summer wedding

OVERALL: Loved this dress! The color combination is beautiful and the cut is classic. FIT: Overall, true to size. I'm usually a 4 and the 10 (US 4) fit well. VERY short hemline. I got away with it because I'm 5'2 but be careful if you're any taller than that. Only complaint is it was tighter on me in the butt and leg area than the stomach area, but I think that's just because I have muscular legs. Bust was comfortable and not too snug (I'm a 34D). FABRIC: Didn't wrinkle as much as I expected from other reviews, and I spent plenty of time sitting since it was a wedding. No stretch to the fabric (not uncomfortable, just be aware).

Runs large, great color, very comfortable

I wore this dress for my law school graduation. I found it to run large; I ordered a 4 and 2, and ended up wearing the 2. I might have even gotten away with the 0, which is smaller than my normal size. There was also ample room in the bust area, and although I was able to fill it out, girls who are smaller up top should take note. The color is fantastic, although I think it would have popped more on someone tanner than me. The material is heavier/thicker than I expected, but not uncomfortably so. The length was perfect for the occasion, hitting me at about mid-thigh. My only complaint was that there was something about the fit in the midsection that was a little off...it could just be that I have a short torso. As you can see, it wrinkled a bit along my sides, but it wasn't terrible. Other than that, great dress, very comfortable, and you can easily wear a regular bra (with a racerback or a Strap Perfect).

Sexy and chic twist on the LBD

OVERALL REVIEW: I wore this dress for my birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. I wanted something that looked classy and chic, yet sexy and this dress hits all points. I paired it with the Pirate Treasure Necklace by RJ Graziano. UNDERGARMENTS: Others have complained about what bra to use but I didn't have a problem at all (and I'm well endowed!). I wore a regular black bra (just in case the dress rode up around the cut outs and my bra became exposed - although that was never an issue). What I did was shorten the straps as far as they could go so the back part of the bra band was much higher on my back than usual. This way, the top of the opening in the back didn't expose my bra. Simple solution - no need for NuBras! I will say that I chose to go commando, but that's not entirely necessary. You'd probably be fine with a good pair of no-show panties. Also, the length was likely a little longer on me than most, since I'm on the short side, so taller girls probably wouldn't feel comfortable without underwear. Others have mentioned the need for shapewear. I didn't feel I needed it because the rouching in the front of the dress is very flattering and forgiving. SIZE/FIT: Overall, the size seemed perfect. I'm usually between a 2/4 in dresses and while I could have probably gotten away with the 2, the 4 seemed to cling in all the right places without being skintight and unflattering. As others have said, the sleeves are very long (note: I have short arms), but they just bunch a bit at the bottom, making them look rouched like the front of the dress. So not an issue at all. From the front, the cutouts are perfectly sized so you're not showing too much skin. The back is obviously exposed, but not at all in a trashy way. The material of the dress itself was incredibly comfortable (it's a little thicker than jersey).

I rented this necklace to match the styling for the Rebecca Taylor Meteor Shower Gown. These two pieces were literally made for each other; I can't imagine one without the other. The necklace itself is absolutely stunning and so unique. The most surprising part is how lightweight it is. Despite it looking extremely heavy, I hardly noticed I had it on all night. Definitely a bombshell dress

It's an Herve, so you automatically know that it'll hug your curves like there's no tomorrow. That being said, Spanx are probably a requirement! I probably could have pulled it off without any shape wear, but I felt a lot more comfortable knowing all my lines were smooth. I wore size S; the XS was definitely too tight around my bust and my arms (but then again, I have larger "girls" and muscular arms, so if you don't have that problem, XS should be fine). The color is even more beautiful in person. I got compliments on it all night and it really made me feel fabulous for my birthday! One point to mention: this is not the dress to wear if you're planning on eating a lot or are bloated at all. The bandage material does suck things in a bit, but in my opinion, I didn't find the material particularly forgiving (although it may have just been in my head since I'm not necessarily used to wearing things so form-fitting). That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars!

I'm short and petite, with an athletic figure and large bust (34DD). I usually wear a 4-6 in dresses (sometimes even an 8, because of my chest), but I rented both a S and XS. I ended up going with the XS because the S was a little too big and sack-like. Also, the length of the XS was much better; the S was just a little too long for my short legs. The dress definitely runs large, like others have said. The XS fit well, although it was a little tight around the bust, but then again I have a larger chest than most. I'm short and petite, with an athletic figure. I also have a very large chest for my size (34D/DD). I rented a size 4R and the dress fit me like a glove. I wore about 2 1/2 inch heels and the length of the dress was perfect. I will say that I usually wear a 5/6 in dresses and a size 4 is usually a little too tight, especially in the bust area. Therefore, I'm guessing this particular dress runs a little large. Also, the back of the dress is made of stretchy material, which allowed ample space in the bust area. I would absolutely recommend that girls with smaller busts shy away from this dress; you definitely have to have enough to fill it out. It also felt a little stretched out in that area, which could have contributed to the roominess. The material was very light and airy; the dress was incredibly comfortable. It looked absolutely stunning in person, as well as in pictures. I received compliments all night and continued to receive them once pictures were posted online. I think that renting the necklace with the gown is a must-it truly makes the dress. I saw a picture of Michelle Trachtenberg wearing it without the necklace and it just didn't have the same effect. As others have said, the necklace is actually very light, although it appears to be heavy. I hardly noticed I had it on. This was my first experience with Rent the Runway and I have to say that I'm 150% satisfied. I can't wait to rent again and after seeing how gorgeous my dress was, all my friends are looking forward to doing the same!
