I chose this as a backup style and got a 22WR as the reviews said it ran small and wanted to be sure it would fit. I usually wear an 18, but had other styles coming in at 18 and 20, so went with 22 just to have a fuller range of dress sizes. This was a beautiful gown, but I am only average in the bust area so I had way too much room in the bust and it looked like I was swimming in the gown. I also had additional room in the back of the dress where the high waistline began. I think if I had gone with a size 20, it might have complimented me a little more. I also think that I like the idea of a one-shoulder strap dress more than it truly looks good on me.

I feel like I have very bad luck with dresses in general. I have broad shoulders, average-sized bust and a stomach that is rounder than it should be. I usually go with 18 in dresses, so I went with 18WR and a 20WR in this style. I tried on the 20WR first, and that fit comfortably in my upper body and the length was appropriate (reached to the tops of my feet, while in heels). However, it didn't do much to compliment or "give" with my mid-section. It was loose enough that I could breathe, but it was fitting enough that standing was okay without sucking in, but sitting down in the church or reception table would have been uncomfortable and unflattering. I could have made it work, but the good feeling you get when you feel confident about what you're wearing - it didn't come with this dress for me. I couldn't even get 18 WR over my hips, so I couldn't fully try that one on. This dress is beautifully sequined and the length would have been great. I would have also been concerned about the sequins irritating my inner-arms while being on the dance floor all night.

The poof of the dress made the length in the back a bit shorter than I was comfortable with. The fit was unflattering on me, but the dress was absolutely beautiful.
