Very unique and fabulous dress, just ran a little small. The waist line has no give, so you need to select this in your right size, maybe size up. Also likely not for bustier women. If the right size, though, it's one of the better fitting strapless gowns without concerns about embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions. Received lots of compliments at the New Year's reception.

Very forgiving as stretchy, you can wear if you have curves. Good for colder weather with long sleeves, but still sexy with the cut-outs and wraps over the chest. I rented it for a party at a museum where I expected all female guests to bring out the height of summer fashions, but I dare say I still stood out in this dress, given its unique pattern. It looks better in reality than in the pictures online and is extremely comfortable. The fabric is a thick but stretchy neoprene-like material, which makes the tight fit a little more forgiving and prevents wrinkles (good for traveling). The photo-print pattern is really beautiful and puts you in a summer mood just looking at it. Pair with turquoise, white or black accessories. It runs true to size, but you can likely wear either a size smaller or larger, depending on the what you want to achieve, as it is stretchy - the (my usual) small = 4 size is sexier, but I wore the medium back-up size the next night for a more conservative dinner. The only downside of the dress for either side was that it hiked up my hips when walking and I had to hold it in place. This may be less of a problem for a 'straight and narrow' body type.

I rented this dress as I was looking for a "period piece" for a 1914-themed formal dinner. It's a beautiful style and material and it's extremely comfortable, as it's perfectly figure hugging and mercifully did not wrinkle easily. I give it full marks as the dress is great, and I received innumerable compliments, but there were a few caveats (easily fixed): as it was a winter evening, the material had a lot of static cling and I needed to use anti-static spray to be able to wear it; I rented LL as LR was not available for the date I needed and found it a bit long - depending on your intended style & footwear, you may want to choose the regular length if you are not at least 5'9''/5'10''; the belt that comes with it - and which is absolutely necessary as an accessory to achieve the full effect - was fairly worn out and frizzing at the seams. The latter was not noticeable when worn, unless scrutinized from up-close, but made me feel a little less glamorous… Still, I would rent this again.

I chose the dress for its color, a dark and rich teal, and as I generally end up with Badgley Mishka as my first choice for their lovely, classic and wearable dresses. I was not disappointed, the dress was extremely comfortable and I got a lot of compliments. My usual size 4 fit well, although a bit tight around the hips initially, which caused the underskirt to creep up when walking (a slight problem I have encountered with B & M dresses before, likely overall better for the straight and narrow types), but the dress is made of stretchy material and fit perfectly after a few hours (including the underskirt), without looking out of shape. Because of the silver/crystal accent, I combined the dress with silver/crystal accessories (I happened to have Badgley Mishka shoes that matched perfectly) which I found was an overall enhancement and looked classier (i.e. if you wanted to be low key, this dress would work as well, e.g. combined with lower heels and less ostentatious jewelry). I also like that the style of the dress allows to wear it with a regular bra.

I picked this dress as I wanted to wear bold colors to a garden party and needed a dress with turquoise accents to match my shoes and clutch, so this dress seemed perfect. All the reviews on RTR were very positive & I was reassured. After trying it on at the RTR showroom, however, I had my doubts, as it seemed a bit flimsy and the dress I tried was rather worn, but the dress I received for my rental was in perfect condition, and my usual size 4 fit perfectly and comfortably. The fabric is extremely pleasant to wear and cool on a hot night, the underskirt is light, but heavy enough to avoid any wind-related accidents. I recommend wearing it with a bra, as the top provides little support, but thankfully the style allows wearing it with a regular bra. It's fitted on top and has enough waist as not to look baggy, but there's some room to spare, if you needed to hide a little bit of belly. The many colors (turquoise, light green, pinkish peach, coral/red, black & lavender) are a lot of fun as they allow many different combinations with accessories. I find they don't come out properly on all the pictures: in reality they are just right - bright, but not garish.

I rented this dress for a 'Gold & Glitter' themed '70s party and it was absolutely perfect. It's light (good for a night of dancing) and fit comfortably, while still providing support. The material is not a high quality as other B & M dresses, but fine as a costume. My main complaint was the too-tight arm hole and the sequined fabric rubbing directly against the skin, which gave me a rash both on my shoulder and under my arm, so consider sizing up or protecting your shoulder (moleskin ?). Probably not a problem for a slighter built, though.

This dress was picked by an RTR stylist as a back-up, when my usual size 4 for my first choice dress became unavailable unexpectedly. Fantastic choice, I was very happy about this surprise ! I wore it to a somewhat chic work holiday party, and still received a larger than usual number of compliments. I was happy I had several parties within a couple of days, so I could wear both dresses - this 'back-up' would definitely be among my first choices of RTR dresses I'd like to own. It's very comfortable to wear, the cotton fabric is light, but high quality (doesn't wrinkle, perfect fit). The generous skirt makes it easy to wear for wider hips, without being baggy, and it's a nice combination of shine and bold colors without being loud or garish. Thanks, RTR !

Definitely an interesting, beautiful and glamorous dress, voted 'best dress of the evening' by the hostess of the holiday party I rented it for, and even my discerning designer-girlfriend agreed. I loved the color scheme and was thrilled to have perfectly matching accessories at hand. The combination of sheer and shiny fabrics with sequins works great and has a lot more class than, for example, a fully sequined stretch dress. However, the problems noted by other reviewers were accurate: the shift runs slightly small - do size up when you rent - and it is shorter than the shell (for no apparent reason, I'd consider this a design flaw), thus easily showing the bottom hem above the golden velvet of the shell. Probably fixable with some fashion tape. The shell, on the other hand, is a bit bulky and likely better for 'straight and narrow' body types than for curvier women. Nevertheless, a fun and eye-catching dress that served it's purpose 'to shine' and deserves 4 stars.

Once more a dress that confirmed why Badgley Mischka are among my favorite designers. I was convinced to rent this dress for my birthday party at a somewhat formal club by pictures from RTR reviews showing that simply everyone looked good in it. It did not disappoint. It fit perfectly and comfortably, and while it is a simple cut, the sequins give it enough sparkle to make it look glamorous. My usual size 4 fit okay, but the larger back-up size was more comfortable and was less likely to hike up & wrinkle around the hips, the only slight problem with this dress, unless you have a narrow built. Still, I'd say it runs true to size, while many other dresses on RTR run large (I'm a size 6 in general). I'd definitely recommend the dress.

I love the cut and color of this dress & received many compliments on how well the color suited me. With the asymmetrical cut it was a great compromise between cocktail length and evening gown, for a formal dinner that was still supposed to be fun. Unfortunately, even my usual size 4 hung very loose around my waist, forcing me to pin it together in the back for a better fit. Also, it was delivered without the necklace/halter, so that I had to improvise with a necklace of my own - but RTR was very decent in partially reimbursing the rental, and I'm still very glad I wore it for one of the most memorable nights of the year.

As it goes with Herve Leger, this dress is extremely figure-hugging & -shaping, so it is very flattering to anyone's figure, and I received a number of compliments. The hour-glass shape and color make it very sexy, and although I was not vying for attention, I was surely getting plenty of it... I ended up wearing small, as the top for the medium size (otherwise a more comfortable fit) was too large and would flip over. Even with the smaller size I had to use some fashion tape to hold the bust part in place. This had been mentioned in other reviews, and it is the only reason I am not giving it a full five stars. It worked well with the tape, though, and the dress is otherwise very comfortable & easily combined with a neutral jacket to tone down the sex-appeal, if necessary (i.e. when on the street, unless you want to stop traffic...).

The feel and hue of the fabric is beautiful, but a bit difficult to care for - wrinkles and stains easily. Also, while very comfortable to wear, the backside was somewhat ill-fitting and bulging (and I have curves to normally fill that space !). But overall a truly stunning dress !

I rented this dress for a work holiday party I didn't end up going to, but wore it to a private dinner, feeling stylish, but not overdressed. My usual size fit well, but just about around the hips - I can see that it might not be a good fit for ever so slightly rounder hips. The fabric has no give, so it's only comfortable if it fits just right. As it was a cold day, the sturdy fabric was nice; although a sunny color, it might actually be a bit hot in summer.

My very first rental with RTR - and I was sold ! I wore it for a wedding rehearsal dinner and loved it so much, I kept it on for the following late night party during gay pride weekend - received compliments from brides-maids and all "the boys" alike. Very comfortable and flattering.
