The fit was perfect for my body. I am a pear, which means I have a small top and a larger bottom. This dress would work for other women shaped like me. If you are busty, however, I would expect the top to feel a bit tight. But, you could go with a larger size I suppose to give you more room up top. The pleats at the waist and skirt helped minimize any bulges I had in my tummy and hip areas. I even tried it with and without spanx, and no one could tell the difference - in a positive way. And I received rave compliments all day! :) One thing, if you have a very large bottom, the skirt will not fit well without added support. So, use spanx. Once you get it on, though, I'm sure you'll be as happy as I was with this dress. The colors are also so lovely.

I used a green, cap-sleeved, Georgian-style (Jane Austen) evening gown with the Riviera Bangle, and it was perfect with my gown and earrings. It gave a great modern touch to my look. There was a nice pop of color, edge, elegance, and simplicity. I also used it the day before and after with more casual outfits. So, it works with different styles.
