Unflattering cut
I read the reviews saying the bust area is way too small. I figured this should be fine as I am not particularly large chested. Well, unless I want to show nipple or have half my boob hanging below the cups, it is too small. The high waist on the skirt also made me look a bit bigger/heftier.

Honestly I’m a big round sunglasses girlie. I have noticed that frames have been moving toward smaller and not massive half face covering shapes so I figured I’d try it. I think they look good! I am going to keep them for another month.

They’re huge. I get that they’re wide leg and that’s somewhat the point but also I thought they’d maybe be fine for me as a short person because they have the raw hemline on the bottom or whatever it’s called.. no. Too long. I also had to wear a belt. I look like Lucky Luciano “you know I had to do it to em” in this picture though so that’s cool.

The petite is not petite!
My review is based solely on the fit of the petite XS. I was so excited to bring this dress on vacation, especially seeing they had a petite offering. Unless I want to wear heels (which I don’t, I’m old, my feet hurt) I can’t wear this. I am not in the photo but if I was wearing a strapless bra, half of it would be showing through the sheer portion of the dress that covers the upper chest and shoulders. How tall was the mannequin used to make this pattern, 5’6”?!

I liked this skirt. The waist was not adjustable at all but luckily it fit me perfectly how it was. I wore it on a date and to the fair. Someone in a different review said it was hard to find tops to match it but I felt like just a plain black top worked fine. It was a bit long and the bottom did touch the ground a little. Also had to hold it up when I went up stairs. Short people problems, I guess.

I feel like these pants were cute, especially with the matching top, but I wish there was a way to make the waist adjustable, whether it was elastic, drawstring, or even belt loops. I would have preferred them to sit a bit higher up as I am not used to wearing low riders these days and this also made the bottoms touch the floor a bit. They did look cute though and on the plus side, they didn’t crease a ton after sitting due to being a bit loose. Date thought I looked good, we even saw some of his senior coworkers out and I’m pretty sure I made him look good, and a random woman complimented the outfit. So overall, positive.

The sleeves were a bit tight at the ends. I wouldn’t even say I have disproportionately big arms - I feel like they usually look fine and aren’t very muscular or flabby- but the sleeves were almost motion-restrictingly tight at the ends. Almost. Other than that the top looked great and was good quality. Should have made the sleeves have elastic or something though .

Tried on - tight in shoulders and chest, loose on stomach. Not in a flattering way, in a “hard to move arms” way. Also bunches up weird by armpits. Did not wear.

I was worried that the volume of this dress would make me look extra short and stout but it actually did not. It was super flattering and cute. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to wear the dress on vacation as it was too hot (110F+) so I am keeping it for another month. It really is a great dress - fun, unique, well-made, and flattering.

Low neck line
Unfortunately I was not able to wear this top because the neck line was too low. It was basically down to my nipples. If you are someone like me who frequently has issues with necklines being cut too low to properly fit, this top is not for you.

Wore this for my nursing school graduation. Received a lot of complements!
I am 5 ft 2, 125 lbs, and I ordered the 2 and 4. A lot of my weight is in my butt and thighs. The 2 fit and wasn't too tight anywhere, so I went with it. I am very happy that I chose this dress. It was flattering, relatively comfortable yet elegant, and it was nice to have long sleeves on this chilly December day in New York. All of my pictures look great. This was actually my first time using Rent the Runway, but I suspect it wont be my last.
