a stunning drape
I loved this for a campsite wedding (with cowboy boots ofc) and received so many compliments! The color is incredible and the material is so rich. Even though it’s a shapeless style, I thought the draping was both flattering and forgiving for my body. It was comfortable all night as long as you manage to secure your chest with some tape or a sticky bra, due to the deep underarms.

I’m usually a size 12, and the 14 was an almost-perfect fit (just a bit tight). It was super figure flattering, I just chose something more comfortable for my event. Definitely fun & different!

Doable, but could fit better
This runs small, especially if you’re busty! I’m usually a 12, and I just barely got the 14 zipped (and felt extremely constricted in the rib cage). The straps also seem very delicate; I was worried they would snap at any moment. It looks nice, but I don’t think I would be comfortable for a long period of time. At 5’8 the dress was floor length in a flat boot - you could maybe get away with a short heel!

This might be the worst garment i’ve ever tried from RTR. I sized down due to other commenter’s recommendations and should not have done so. The chest was too tight and the empire waist line did not hit below my bust, but in the middle of it. Love the concept, but this dress did not work for me. Do Not Size Down.

Fun choice for a free spot in my membership! It fit snugly, which is always important for a strapless garment, but I felt like I was bulging out of the top just slightly. the buttons are not functional, so they didn’t gape, but i still felt like the chest fit was very tight.

I never trust when the internet tells me to size down, but I ordered the 10 when I usually wear a 12… and it was still too big! I was able to style it with a belt to give it a better shape and pull the hem up slightly. I think I actually would have liked it belt-less if I had a size that fit me better. Even so, it was perfect for a summer graduation ceremony. The material is incredible and it has pockets!

comfortable & polished
I wore this on a Nashville trip and LOVED it! The romper style made it so comfortable to dance in but I love that it’s long enough to pass as a dress. Bonus: pockets. I probably could have sized down which really surprises me - if anything, I’m usually a L/XL but even the large was kinda roomy! I wore a strapless bra, but could have gone without if the fit was a little tighter in the bust (which is not usually a problem I have with my DDs).

too tight & too short
I have always been a size Large in Madewell clothes at my current height & weight, but this fit did not work for me. the bust and shoulders were tight and the cutouts hit too high on my torso (you could see the lower part of my bra. It was also fairly short, but I have long legs so that’s a more common issue for me that might not affect everyone.

I have had my eye on this dress for months and when it finally came time for my event, I didn’t like the fit for my body. The cut of the neckline and waist were not flattering for my shape. The length was okay with flat shoes but I probably couldn’t wear too high of heels with it. Too much anticipation and the real thing just didn’t meet my expectations.

This was a fun style & color, but the material made it a little more casual than I was expecting. You could probably dress it down for everyday wear, but I was looking for a semi-formal wedding and felt I would be underdressed. too boxy
I understand this piece is intentionally oversized, but it seemed oversized in the wrong places to me. The shoulders were too wide but heavily structured, so it didn’t give off slouchy-oversized vibes as much as it did playing-dress-up-in-your-dad’s-closet vibes. I loved the matching trousers though! Rent those, skip this or size WAY way down (I’m usually a 12 and even the 10 was still huge).

I liked this blazer and got several compliments on the color, but struggled to style it how I initially planned. It is long (I’m 5’8”) and the double breasted style makes it feel wide when worn unbuttoned. That said, I still enjoyed it and it was a great weight for a summer work event.

The heading says it all! This dress has a nice thick material that stays structured but comfortable all day long. The slit can hit a tad bit high when you sit down but is manageable if you’re aware of it. Would rent again for future work events.

I did not notice the tightness at the neck and arms that other commenters mentioned in their reviews; I thought it fit perfectly and I was very comfortable wearing it all day long. Great fit, thick material
If these trousers were in my budget I would have kept them. The fit and length were perfect for me (5’8” 180lbs). The material was thick but I was comfortable both in the indoor, air conditioned conference rooms and an outdoor happy hour in the summer. Definitely recommend and will rent again for my next work trip!

small and fitted
The dress was okay but not what I expected. Not only was it too small in the chest but it was more fitted throughout the waist than I wanted. I ordered it hoping for more of a slip-dress look. Because of the fit issues, I ended up wearing a sweater over top to make it look like just a skirt. Worked out okay for a christmas party.

Note: not wearing boob tape in the pic but will probably use it for my event (36DD). I personally chose to tie the dress in the front since I’m self-conscious about my midsection and I like the shape it gives the dress! The material is a little bit see-through so make sure you have nude undergarments. The only thing I don’t like about the silhouette is that it gives you under-arm bat wings due to the loose back.

For whatever reason this dress looks great in real life and in every picture at every angle it seems to emphasize my tummy. I’m usually a 10-12 36DD and the size Large was a perfect fit, although the boning definitely digs in around the waist. I will probably go with on of my other options for my event, but it’s still a good dress.

The coolest little black dress I’ve ever worn. It’s short but not TOO short (5’8”). I’m usually a 10-12 36DD and I think the 10 fits well; I like strapless items to be tighter so I’m not worried about slipping. I was still able to zip it all on my own with a little contortionism!

Summer wedding perfection
This dress was perfect for a “black tie optional” wedding in July. I decided not to bother with boob tape and was still secure all day & night. It was a little bit long for me (I’m 5’8”) but would have been just right if I could have worn a higher heel (but I couldn’t because of a broken leg). I recommend renting this!

Stunning color, mediocre fit
I actually purchased this dress because it cost the same as renting and I thought it would be nice to have a formal gown in my back pocket. I’m usually a size 10 but the 12 fit just right. Unfortunately I wasn’t wowed by the fit. Even with a strapless bra, the top isn’t structured enough to hold everything in place. The length was just too short (I’m 5’8” and I wish it had 1-2 more inches). Decided to return it and rent something else that I feel more confident & comfortable in.

I wore this to a gala hosted by my graduate school (aka adult prom). At first I was worried my true size (10) would be too small, but it fit perfectly. I just needed another set of hands to help with the zipper; you do have to force it a bit over the seam. The gown was comfortable all evening and so many strangers kept approaching me! Perfect choice for a formal event if you follow Matchmaker Maria’s green dress theory. By the way, I’m 5’8” and the hem came right to my ankle.

It’s not the easiest dress to wear but it’s worth it. I wore a normal bra even though you could see the straps from the back. Even though it’s darker, the top of the dress is still a little sheer so I wore a black cami and black spandex shorts underneath. One positive is that the sleeves have little buttons to keep you bra straps in place! And also it looks hella good!!!!
