Beautiful dress!
Eight long was perfect. I am 5 foot 7 and wore 4 inch heels. If you are taller than 5 foot 6 I would not rent the regular. It barely came to my ankle in bare feet. The zipper was difficult and there is no give in the bodice of the dress but once the zipper finally went up, with a little wiggle, it was great, not too tight.

Dress is beautiful, love the backless detail. A little big in the chest and needed some fabric tape.
Runs a bit small in the upper waist, not much difference between the 10 and 12. Fabric is beautiful, love the pockets. Lots of compliments
