Great construction, of course heavy as it's a quite sturdy weight of denim. I was expecting overdye but this was next level. Maybe don't sit on any light upholstery and you'll need to scrub yourself to high heaven, after an all-day wear most of my skin was quite blue, my neck in particular looked freaky! I didn't expect the degree of overdye still being an issue as it wasn't NWT.

It is quite long. I'm 5'8" and my height is thanks to my legs so I could just barely wear flat shoes with the medium. But the skirt is SO FUN! The outer layer is two pieces of fabric that aren't connected to each other, just slightly overlapping on the sides, so they're essentially like a front cape and a back cape, if that makes any sense. The black layer underneath is super stretchy, not too short, and didn't ride up. The skirt can be easily dressed up or down. Strongly considered buying this!

Just an absolutely stunning dress. Wore to a black-tie wedding, and had flashback moments to wearing my princess Halloween costume everyday when I was three years old (i.e., I wanted to do something similar and make this dress my life's uniform). I paired it with my own cheapo emerald-green costume earrings to bring out the green tones at the base of the skirt, and the Kate Spade glitter sima clutch. The colors of the dress don't look SUPER vibrant in this picture, but they absolutely were in real life, as well as in the professional photos from the wedding taken with flash. I didn't wear a bra, as I can't bear strapless bras, and the bodice was fitted enough to provide some support. You'll definitely want to wear heels with this dress regardless of your height due to the tea-length. It's very fitted in the waist, but very generous in the hips with its full skirt.

So sexy. This dress is wonderful. Jay Godfrey is a prince. It is SO comfortable, the full inner lining is super silky and luxurious. You'll definitely have to be adjusting/keeping an eye on yourself vis a vis the slit if you're dancing in this dress, but I was pretty impressed with how well it worked overall when walking/sitting/etc. I wore a strapless bra because my breasts are noticeably asymmetrical (true DD [aka not an E but a DD] vs. small D) and it looked particularly evident in the dress alone, but if it weren't for that, I would have gone bra-less as the cut of the bodice does provide good support and shaping. AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SIZING OF THIS PIECE: I put runs large. As you may have noticed, a lot of pregnant women have reviewed this dress. It was evident that the dress I received was extremely stretched-out in the midsection. I am usually between a 4 or a 6, and the 2 I received of this dress was loose around the waist/upper hips. I feel like RTR may want to consider keeping separate versions of dresses like these for women that are expecting? I fully get that there aren't as many designers putting sexy "bump-friendly" clothes out there, so I don't at all begrudge the pregnant ladies making non-maternity items work, but a word of warning, particularly to those with smaller waists, this dress does not transition from those who are expecting to those who aren't very well.

The drape, craftsmanship, and materials of this top are superb. The hook-and-eye closures are very sturdy but also not difficult to get done/undone. I would have expected a bit more support/structure in the bust of the top considering it's called a 'bustier' top, but that wasn't a dealbreaker, just something to note. My biggest complaint is the strap design. It's unique, but is not practical—the straps are adjustable with D-rings at the back and the spare strap dangles down the back—but the D-rings don't hold the strap securely and so the dangling length of the straps gradually but continually slide through. I was constantly adjusting and pulling them until I finally just tied the long ends of the straps in the back together.

LOVED this jumpsuit. Wore to a rehearsal dinner/party the night before a wedding. The color is beautiful in person, more deeply jewel-toned than the way it appears in the pictures. The cape and long belt add a whole other layer of dramatic flair. Rented the tasseled kate spade earrings to pair with it and was obsessed with the whole look! Fit-wise: I put true-to-size because it doesn't OVERALL run large or small but true-to-size isn't actually accurate... It definitely runs quite large in the torso/bust. I wore a 4 which is my usual size; I frequently have to size up for my chest despite my narrow ribcage (30F) and this was still slipping down in the back somewhat, although I didn't wear a bra so maybe that bulk would have helped with that. Makes it a great choice for other busty ladies or if you have a wider ribcage but otherwise be prepared to have to wear a [padded] strapless bra to fill it out even though there's boning and you wouldn't otherwise need to. Pant length was longer than I expected based on measurements, I am 5'8" and rented the regular length in the hope I might be able to wear flats, but heels were needed. (2.5 inch wedge) On the flip side, the fit through the hips does run smaller, but not dramatically. So while the fit may be a bit finicky, I think it's worth giving it a try because this is truly a glorious peice of clothing.

This dress is unbelievably sexy, it's Hervé Léger after all. The stripes are so nicely gradiented that they don't have the widening effect blocked horizontal stripes can, and the black at the waist is perfect. This was also the first time I had the pleasure of wearing one of the bandage dresses and was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it is. Sure, it's tight but not in a corset-like restraining way. It's so well made, and its weight alone as a garment when you pick it up speaks to that, it's amazing how substantial it is. The length of the Large on me is perfect, I'm a little over 5'8" and it was in no way too short. My only negative about this dress was the tightness in the bust or maybe it was the cut of the neckline. Either way, it squeezed my 36DD chest too much - and I wore the Large. Bra or no bra I had a serious case of double boob, and with even a lightly lined demi bra my chest was so pushed up I felt far too 'on display' for my liking. Braless it was manageable, but by no means modest. However if you've a full bust and looking for a décolletage displaying dress for a setting/event where you'd feel more comfortable showing off the ladies, this should be your choice!!!! I still give it 5 stars :)

I either wear a 4 or 6 usually, but ordered XS and S for this based on the reviews, and was glad - it certainly runs large... the XS wasn't even tight, I only opted for the S for the extra length as I am on the taller side and wanted to be more covered up, don't need to be showing off décolletage or leg trying to talk to a roomful of other young women! Just a great and eye-catching dress, I stood out even with everyone wearing black!

the fabric is more of a knit so made it less formal than i was expecting but also made it so comfortable, it felt like a nightgown while still looking glamorous. i would not suggest the R size if you are any taller than 5'5" and want to wear heels, i'm 5'8" and had to wear flats.

This dress is so unique, hard to pull of a patterned long dress for a black tie party but this is just elegant enough with an updo and some jewelry without being boring. Very comfortable and light. The 4 was a little tight on my chest but not unbearable.

I wear a 34D bra and couldn't zip the 4 over my chest even without a strapless bra, but the 6 was huge in the waist/in general and looked like a bag on me. I immediately returned the dresses for the "neither fits" refund and was very happy with that aspect of the RTR service even if I was disappointed the dress didn't work out. The black overlay is beautiful in person.
