First of all this dress is not gold as pictured. It is a two piece dress with a black slip and a black overlay that has gold beading. The picture suggests the dress is more solid gold and it is absolutely not. Fortunately I knew this when I rented the dress because other reviews have pictures and you can see how good it looks. The fit is odd. The dress fit but was too tight around my word section. The slip is more fitted than the top part of the dress but the top part is also fitted with stretch. Personally I would the dress uncomfortable and did not wear it. I think this would fit someone with a straight or hourglass body and not a pear or apple shape.

I absolutely love this dress. I have worn this dress three times over the last two years because it fits wonderfully and is super comfortable. Personally, I prefer a shift dress to most other cuts because I am pear shaped. I've got hips and a belly that I don't want to accentuate with a tight fit. A shift dress, specifically this one, flares out so you don't feel self Conscious. The material is solid but not heavy. It comes right to the knee, which I like. I've worn this dress to two weddings and a bridal shower and would wear it again if I could find an event where I'm not around the exact same group of people.

The top of this dress is oddly shaped. If you're plus sized and wear a W sized dress (16W), the top isn't going to fit properly because it is narrow. Unless you're very pear shaped and tiny up top, the sides of your breasts and the arm pit section will be exposed. The waist is also very tight and oddly placed. I have a high waist and felt very uncomfortable in this dress. It is very pretty in person however!

First let me say this dress was beautiful in person and fit me just fine. I order the 16 and the 18 and both fit. The problem is it is poor fitting on someone with a pear shape. Just doesn't make you feel comfortable because it's fitted in all the wrong places. So my rating is based on how I felt versus the fit. I also want to warn people that the material is very very heavy. Like unreasonable to wear to warm weather events. I had a wedding indoors but would have been sweating like crazy if I wore a dress this heavy.

Allow me to preface this review by saying I didn't wear this dress after renting it. I wore it for ten minutes while trying it on and felt that it just wasn't right for me. The dress top (the blue) fits pretty true to size and is very becoming on anyone with average to large sized breasts. The down side is the skirt. The material is thicker than expected (even after reading reviews). While the color and pattern are beautiful, the skirt is incredibly poofy. I felt like I was wearing a massive teacup from my waist down. It doesn't just flare out- it just out from the waist and sits there. Because the material is thick, you have to move it with your arms to adjust it and it's just so much material. I really wish that the skirt had less poof because it would have otherwise been a perfect fit.

I rented this dress for the intention of wearing it at my own wedding (eloped!) The color was out of this world beautiful and it made my skin, hair and eyes look amazing. Based on the dimensions, I was a size 16, however when I tried to put this dress on I couldn't zip up the last 5 inches of the zipper. The way the dress is made, the part where your waist is and above towards the breast is fitted with no give. The rest flows freely and wonderfully. I was able to get the dress on and zip it up more than half way, but there was no give to get the remaining zipper up over my back. I wore another similar dress in size 16 and it was too big. Granted, the other dress isn't shaped EXACTLY the same, but the listed dimensions at least more closely resembled how the dress actually fit.

Fit well! Pros: It fits around the breast and then flows out from there, giving me some protection from any bloating or self-consciousness. The color is deep and beautiful and it made my skin and eyes glow. Cons: After wearing is for about a half hour, it began to loosen up and I had to adjust it often. It could be that I am in between sizes, however I had returned the same dress in a different color that was a size smaller and I couldn't fit into it properly. Perhaps it was just the way this particular dress was made, but it made dancing a little difficult. Overall I loved the dress, I just wish the size 14 would have fit a little better so that I didn't have to size up.
