Beautiful fabric combined with a chic and elegant cut made this a stunning choice for a May evening at the Metropolitan Opera. The length and print gave it a bit more drama than a workday dress, but it wasn't over-the-top dressy. The Met crowd can be notoriously hard to impress, but I received no fewer than ten compliments from total strangers walking up to tell me how great this dress was! Extra points for it being so comfortable for a 4+ hour performance. I felt pretty and fabulous all night long.

This dress fit like it was made for me. The color was a stunning vivid purple that looked fabulous on stage. Beautiful dress. The vertical lines of lace were very slimming and the fabric was gorgeous and unexpected (in the best way!). The lining of this dress was probably my favorite aspect of it though. It was a soft modal almost like my favorite pajamas. I was so cozy and comfortable for a very long night at the opera. I definitely recommend this if an elegant, flattering but comfortable dress is called for.

Lela Rose is a favorite brand for the gorgeous fabric and flawless fit and this dress did not disappoint in those regards. Elements of the fabric have just a little shimmer making the dress party-perfect, but not too dressy. This is a dress I wouldn't mind having in my closet for a night out or a performance as well. Unfortunately, the dress I rented was probably ready to retire the runway as the stitching around the zipper had come loose, the hem in front stuck out a bit (perhaps from too much mending/drycleaning), and there was a hint of a BO smell that only surfaced after I was in it about 30 minutes and it became body-temperature. Assuming that was just an issue with the dress I had, I would definitely recommend the dress.

This Lela Rose is just lovely with a gorgeous fabric and elegant fit. The dress was snug in the hips, but seems designed to be a body hugging silhouette. If you get this dress, remember not to pull it up as high as you think it should go. The straps are meant to sit a few inches down from your shoulder. The 10 I wore had some boning popping through the fabric in the back, so check for that before you head out. It was irritating by the end of a long night. I felt gorgeous all night long in this stunner. Highly recommended.

Beautiful fabric, but ran very large with a waist that sat too high for someone of my height. Would likely work better on someone 5'7" or shorter. When the fit is too high, the flair can make you look very bottom heavy, which is what happened here. I did not wear it.
