Great panel of colors
Similar to other reviewers, I had to steam iron the dress before wearing. Other than that, it's a lovely wrap dress. Great for an outdoor barn wedding.

Fun Statement Piece
Pros: Not a lot of jewelry needed - neither the model nor I wore any. The B&W contrast and the tulle add sufficient dramatic effect. The dress is fun, great to dance in, great to socialize in. Not a lot of fuss. Cons: The shape is a bit strange. As another reviewer wrote, the section where torso-abs-waist meet is taut in a manner that doesn't flatter shorter women, nor women with straight up/down figures. It's not a big con - but should be noted. Overall, I'd rent this dress again if I had the occasion. Good cocktail party dress.

Not for the faint of heart. This dress = drama (as if you couldn't tell by the snapshot)
Love this dress. It is, however, quite the feat to pull off. While the fabric of the dress ends daintily at the ankles, the black tulle - which is absolutely formidable - lazes around on the floor. It makes for a graceful effect in a standstill photo, but it's a hard dress to walk around in ((at least for those of us that aren't fashion models)), let alone dance, and steps were a nightmare. The layer of tulle isn't a simple layer to lift, it's a multilayered endeavor. Having said all that, if you want a dress that makes a powerful statement and sets you apart from all the other girls in their LBDs - this is it! I wore this dress to a New Year's Eve party in DC and received compliments all night ((when I was standing still of course)). The fit of the dress is true to size - I'm normally a two and rented a two. The bust is a bit tight - don't think I could have fit a strapless bra underneath. All in all, great experience that I never could have bought on my own. Thanks RTR.

Elegant and classy
After reading a previous review of this dress that listed it as like a "choir robe", I admit that I was a tad apprehensive when I received this gown and initially saw a sea of heavy blue cloth (indeed, just like the choir robes of childhood memory). However, when I put it on, I realized that the gown absolutely delivers. I wore this for a Valentine's Day black-tie affair. It's classy without verging on dowdy. It's elegant without edging on pretentious. It's the perfect dress to wear to a black tie event without looking like you put too much effort or are "over the top" (so key in Washington DC). I got a slew of compliments on the dress (and the necklace pairing from J Crew) and felt like a veritable socialite in the dress, paired with my boyfriend in his tuxedo. There are some contradictory reviews on the length too - I'm 5'4" and wore 4 inch heels and the 2L fit but was much, much too long. The 4R was a tad looser but a good length for a girl my height with heels. Hope you enjoy this dress as much as I did!!

Dressed for a Surprise Party
Wore this to what I believed was a brunch with the boyfriend and close friend for my belated birthday. Turned into a huge surprise party! I was so, so happy that I had a RtR on! Fit: Super snug, but like most Herve dresses, it "breathes" with you and expands wonderfully to your shape. The cap sleeves are playful and add great detail. Overall, I liked the dress on the model, but even more on me. This is a dress for confident women! Pros: Color, style. Cons: Make sure you get help zipping this dress up. Like other bandage dresses (esp. those from Herve), it's a doozy when you put it on the first time! overall, loved the dress. Would love to wear it again.

Sparkly sensation!
Rented the 0 and 2 and wound up wearing the 0. I wore this dress to my boyfriend's birthday party and felt additional pressure as this was also my intro to his friends. This dress absolutely pulled through and I got plenty of compliments that night. Additionally, the fabric is thicker than it looks in the pictures and works WELL in the chilly winter. The color is a lovely pink and works well for all skin tones. Only con with this dress is the way the sequins rub against the arms. Other than that though, the dress is a winner.

Wore the dress for a beach wedding in Mexico. The color, style and fit were super flattering.
Loved, loved loved this dress and it was an incredibly great first experience with Rent the Runway. I had a wedding date in Cancun and wanted to wear a piece that stood out, but not in a revealing, exhibitionist way. This dress was long enough to be classy, with the right amount of swoosh for great dancing at the reception and the color is to DIE for. The picture, taken right at sunset in Isla Mujera, says it all. My only gripe is the chest section - it was bunchy. While it stood up well when standing, it crumbled on itself whenever I sat down, and while I'm small-chested, I'm not THAT small-chested for a size 0/2. Overall, great dress, great experience. Thanks Rent the Runway!
