Beautiful but either no bra or sticky cups needed

Unfortunately the photo shoot I rented this dress for was rescheduled due to weather so I only had the opportunity to try it on and not wear it out. The dress fit very well, though the strappy detailing in the back, once clasped, was a little tight. Also, you MUST either go bra less or wear sticky cups. The back detail is beautiful and the Navy color is deep and true. I can't really speak to the slit but this would have been a lot of fun to wear!

The top is big and the waist can be tight

Unfortunately the photo shoot I rented this for had to be rescheduled due to weather so I didn't get to wear this dress, though I did try it on. As other renters shared, the waist can be tight. This didn't bother me much as the 8R actually fit well from the waist down. However, the bust/top is most definitely meant for bustier women. If I had worn this I would have had to clamp the straps to tighten them and most likely still used tape to keep the sides from bowing out. The color, though, is truly stunning. I felt beautiful in it even with the above bust issues.

Dressed up or down, comfortable and stylish! And pockets!!!!

I rented this dress because I had a promo code and loved the idea of pockets on a dress I could wear to church. I was not disappointed! I only had one size in this dress as it was the second in a rental but, thanks to others' reviews, I picked the best size for me. My bust is smaller than my hips so finding a dress that doesn't gap or bunch on top can be difficult. This dress did bunch a little bit when I was sitting or slouching (but who takes pictures of that?) but was comfortable overall. It was a little bit tight once zipped but I also knew nothing was going to move. I wore a strapless bra and pulled the strap down below the back of the dress. I probably could have gone without a bra but since I was wearing this to church I couldn't bring myself to go without. The 10 might have been a little more comfortable in the midsection but I have a feeling the top would have been even larger and I would have opted to go with the 8 anyway. The pockets are great! And the bow/tie detail in the back is just fun. Conservative cut in the front was beautiful. I paired this with blue peep toe pumps and matching wrist-let for church and blue flats to just hang around in the rest of the day. Dark blue freshwater pearl earrings and necklace finished it out. I would definitely rent this again!

Beautiful dress but the waist-line was too tight.

I had my eye on this dress for months! I'm typically an 8 in dresses, mostly because my hips are bigger than my bust. I ordered the 8 and 10. Both fit to varying degrees. As most reviewers state: the midsection is tight, with the waist seam hitting either across my ribs or, if I hiked it up a little, snug against my bra band. Both the 8 and the 10 had extra material above the waist-seam, blousing the top more than I expected, both front and back. I was surprised by this, especially since there is no blousing whatsoever on the model pictures but I'm super thankful for the pictures by other reviewers to know I wasn't alone in this and that the dress would still look good even with the extra blousing. (Shout out to Adrienne who had a similar review; you looked beautiful in your picture!) The zipper was a bit harder to zip on the 8 than the 10. I didn't need to raise my arms much but did try since others stated there wasn't much room. It's true; you can't do the YMCA comfortably but you do have movement. The dress, though, is beautiful, relatively light and lined the full length. I rented this for my birthday; intending to wear it for dinner and a movie. I spent the day wearing the 8 around the house trying to decide weather a tighter midsection or an insanely bloused top (from the 10) would be better. I ended up wearing the 8. I wouldn't rent again, though, because the waist/midsection is just not right for my body type and I was disappointed with the blousing.

Three stars for Great Customer Service & lack of two for this being wrong for my body type.

I rented this on a whim for my birthday because it was different. Well, different turned out to be wrong for my body type. After reading reviews, I rented the M and the L since I'm usually an 8/10 in dresses. The black waist band felt exactly the same on both, the only exception being I could actually zip the L. My hips are larger than my bust but I thought that with a fitted natural waist this would be fine. The band was significantly higher than my natural waist and squeezed in all the wrong places. The best this dress looked was when my husband unzipped the large: everything laid beautifully! I would recommend this for more athletic/straight narrow body types or if you have a very very small waist. With no option for an XL (a size I don't wear unless it's a "Juniors" size dress/top), I contacted Customer Service via chat on the website. So helpful! My biggest advice to all those trying RTR: try your dress on as soon as you can once it arrives and if you aren't please/it doesn't fit, contact RTR immediately. They want you to be happy!

Tight in the hips but Stunningly gorgeous!

Overall, this dress was beautiful and a showstopper. I'm 5'6" and planned to wear 3.5-4" heels. I measured myself shoulder to floor and felt the Regular length would be fine. I ordered both 8R and 10R. If you don't want to show off your shoes and are 5'6" or taller, get the longer length. I didn't mind showing off my shoes (they were blue!) so I wasn't bothered that the front was a bit higher than the back. The back does have a little bit of a "train". I have a more pear shaped body, so my hips were going to be the deciding factor. If you have wider/larger hips, I definitely recommend sizing up on this dress. I ended up wearing the 10R and it was comfortably snug around the hips. The 8R would have been better up top but the 10R wasn't too large. The thin straps (which hold the dress on a hangar) kept popping out so I recommend pinning them down or using fashion tape to keep them in place. As others have mentioned, -the zipper can be a bear. So if you're by yourself, take a deep breathe, and be patient with the second half of the zipper. -the dress has MUCH more sparkle than the stock images and even the other customer photos show. This dress is not muted at all. But stunning and you won't be disappointed! -the color does have a champagne tinge depending on the lighting. I still wore silver jewelry and it looked fine. I wore this all night long and was pleasantly surprised how comfortable I was. And I got more comfortable as the night wore on. The fabric does make the dress a little heavy but since it fits so snugly I didn't feel it was overly heavy. If it's snug on your hips like it was for me, you might need to pull it up just a little bit to sit down and wiggle it back down when you stand up. I didn't do any dancing but this dress would've been perfectly comfortable and moved well!

Perfect for a 60's Cocktail Themed Charity Auction!

First and foremost, this dress is absolutely beautiful! I received compliments all night long. Fit: As other reviewers stated, the midsection is quite tight while the bust and top is loose. I'm a 36B and have a longer torso but there was still about an inch too much fabric in the top (seen as a little bit of bunching in the picture). I wore a strapless pushup because you could see the straps for my regular bra due to the looseness and to add a little bit. You really couldn't tell there was additional room up top unless I mentioned it so it ended up just fine! I absolutely loved the skirt. Perfect amount of flare but plenty of coverage. I'm 5'6" so it hit me like the model in the photos. The colors are fantastic! Beautiful deep blue and the gold pops without being too glittery. The fabric is thick without being hot, though I probably wouldn't recommend it in the dead of summer. Definitely felt gorgeous in this! Overall Fit: I chose "runs small" for two reasons. 1. The midsection is tight with a loose top but I would make the size up your back up size just in case. 2. As other reviewers have said, the RTR Italian to American conversions are off. I was originally going to rent the 46 with a 44 as a back up because that would have been an 8 and 6 according to RTR. Instead I checked conversion charts went with the 42 and the 44 (8 & 10 respectively). Granted, I had the 44 in my original order and would have been fine but by going with the 42 instead of the 46 I knew I wouldn't have wanted the larger size due to the amount of fabric up top. Seriously, though, I would rent this dress again! The pockets were great (can't believe I haven't mentioned them till now!) and made walking around to meet and greet and also take part in the charity auction much easier. And so many compliments! Just an overall good dress!

Comfortable, Classy, and Sparkly!

This dress is absolutely beautiful. I received so many compliments while wearing this dress! I'm self-conscious, tending to wear A-line dresses, but took a chance on this dress after reading reviews and looking at pictures. Glad I did! As other reviews have commented: the sequins do scratch your underarms. I wore my dress for 9+ hours and my arms had lots of tiny scratches visible the next morning. But there really wasn't any discomfort involved while wearing the dress. My advice with the zipper: Be patient, breathe, and call a friend if necessary. The first time I tried the dress on I couldn't get the zipper to budge the last 4 inches. I put the dress on an hour later and the zipper went right up. I did not have an issue with the liner coming up over the neckline. I chose not to wear a bra at all because when I bent forward you could see my strapless bra down the middle. I lost a little "perkiness" without the bra but no one noticed and I felt more comfortable. My one complaint is actually that I stepped on the train more than anything. I walk with confidence and purpose in heels and the train kept getting whipped underneath my feet. The straps were a tiny bit roomy but didn't fall or slouch. The dress feels heavy on the hanger but is easy to wear all night long. I wore the 8R (the 6R wouldn't fit at all) and it was a bit tight going over my hips.. I wore 2-2.5 inch heels and wouldn't have gone any higher. If I'd had 3+ inch heels I'd probably have needed the 8L. This dress is very sparkly but with my hair in an updo I paired it with a crystal statement necklace and matching earrings: a perfect match for the formal military ball I was attending.
