Unlike all other Reformation dresses, runs VERY large

I was so disappointed with this dress! Everything about it was extremely large. The shoulders were too wide, the sleeves were much to large for my arms and awkwardly long, and the waist was easily 6" too big. Because of all of the fit issues (not limited to the waist, which I am used to), I didn't even bother trying to belt it. In comparison, I have rented the short mocked sleeve Reformation dress from RTR and that waist fits me perfectly.

Fun, summery colors + pockets!

I've rented this a few times this summer. The print and fabric are super cute in person! The weight of the fabric is light enough for a hot summer day. As normal with Marni, this is unlined which helps with the lightweight feel. The bodice of the dress was long on me (the waist of the dress hit me closer to my hips) and the waist itself was large. However, the larger sizing made it a bit more casual and swing-y.

Thick fabric, flattering draping, large waist/hips

Mid-knee length is nice (I'm 5'1). The size 0 waist is ~2" too large for me. The armholes are the perfect size to cover bra without choking the underarms and I love the neckline. Overall a fine work dress but I wouldn't rent it for one of those days where I need to feel perfect confidence.

Gorgeous fabric, just too big in the waist for me

I am really disappointed that I could not wear these! They were about 3 inches too large in the waist for me. The links perfectly hit me at the ankle and the navy fabric is stunning and soft.

Cute in theory but very large waist

Pros: length on 5'1" is perfect in flats (though you must have both hands free to hold all the fabric going up stairs); lightweight fabric is perfect for late summer weather; soft pleats aren't overaggressive with the pattern Cons: waist is EXTREMELY large - 3 safety pins were necessary to keep the pants on. I'm a 00/00P so I normally expect a waist gap, but these pants in size 0 felt much larger than the average 0.

Extremely revealing (not in a cute way)

I'm normally a 00, but had to try the 0R because that's the smallest size offered for this dress. It was very large! At 5'1", the back of the dress dragged on the ground so it was a true maxi on me. The underarm area was the worst. It had an uncomfortably low drop with way too much fabric across the chest area. When I tried to wear it with a strapless bra, 3-4" of the bra showed. I ended up wearing a bralette rather than going without a bra, because all of the extra fabric gaping showed my boobs if I moved/sat the wrong way.

Just "fine" work top

The fabric was pretty comfortable. The mock neck was a little loose but the rest of the top was very fitted. Didn't love where the sleeves hit me - right in the crevice of my elbow. Perfectly adequate for an average work day, but nothing special.

Slightly large waist. Gorgeous, light fabric

I normally wear 00P skirts, so I was really excited to see RTR offer this skirt in a 00! The waist was about 2" too large, but I was able to pin it. Perfect midi length. I loved the light, silky, pleated fabric! Just watch out for the wind - it is a wrap skirt and showed a lot of leg when I was walking to work.

Nearly worked, but pants looked like loose work slacks

Very heavy and thick, stretchy fabric. The top fit beautifully. The bottom was disappointing! The pant legs were very baggy and frumpy. Since I was looking for an outfit for a summer wedding, I chose not to wear this because of the poor fit and weight of the fabric.

Added to my work rotation, can't wait to rent again

This is a perfect work dress. It is large in the waist, which is why I added a belt. The shoulders fit perfectly and no gaping across the back of the neck. The hem (where the ruffle starts) hits just above my knee so my knees are covered by the ruffle. The fabric is a little scratchy on my chest but not a dealbreaker. Because this is made with a heavier fabric, I think it will be a perfect cold-weather option with tights.

Comfortable and conservative wrap dress

I normally avoid wrap dresses. They tend to expose too much of my chest for my comfort, and are hard to manage in an outside (read: windy) commute. This dress might have changed my outlook on the style. Highly recommend!! The dress hits just above my ankle, but I don't think it's awkward at all. The way that the top attaches to the belt and skirt is genius. Rather than having the top wrap all the way across, it naturally stops in the front of my ribs (hard to describe but you can see in the picture). The belt, attached to more skirt fabric, continues so that the wrap of the skirt aligns with the side of my body. I tied a bow in the back. On a day with 30 mph winds, this clever construction kept me from flashing the world.

Perfect form-fitting knit dress for petite girls

I am used to this brand running large on me, but I was hoping that this stretchy knit dress might fit - and it was perfect! An XS (the tag actually shows it as a size P) is wonderful. The fabric is thick without suffocating. I loved that my regular bra was fully covered (even in the underarm area). It was extremely fitted just past my waist. At 5'1", the hem hit near the top of my kneecap. I wore a long olive green cardigan over it most of the day and was extremely comfortable in the dress for 12+ hours. One of my favorite rentals to date!

Best RTR choice EVER! I was a floaty, comfy goddess all night

This dress was a legend. As expected, there is a TON of fabric. The pleats laid beautifully and did not wrinkle when I sat down. I loved the hidden slit on the far left side of the skirt - you can't see it when standing but it was helpful to cool down when I sat in between dances. I didn't use the pockets to hold any items but they were fun for pictures and dancing. A normal bra nearly worked, but I went with strapless so I didn't have to worry about a strap peeking out. The hem (on the XXS) hit right at my ankle. I wore the dress with both 5" wedges and 2.5" strappy heels, and thought the height of the wedges helped offset and enhance the trapeze effect. Overall, I can't wait to rent this again!!

The longer I wore this dress, the more I disliked it

Overall feelings: I heard a lot of cowboy jokes while wearing this dress. The fabric is lightweight but scratchy. I didn't love that the lining underneath the very sheer skirt didn't extend to the hem. The lining was also very wrinkly (maybe intended to help the full-skirt look?) and had a habit of bunching up underneath the sheer skirt layer and nearly exposing my undies. Also, beware the wind! Fit: Shoulders and arms fit very well. Waist was very large - there was a drawstring with red tassels to cinch (not shown in RTR images) that I hid inside of the dress because there was already too much going on with the dress. The skirt was short with a lot of fabric.

Slimming, curvy, and an off-shoulder look that stayed put!

I HIGHLY recommend this dress. I fully agree with other reviewers that it runs very small. The XSR fit me beautifully and I normally wear a 00P. There was very strong no-slip grip lining around the top off the dress. The fabric was extremely stretchy so I didn't feel like I couldn't raise my arms without having to readjust the entire dress (my biggest pet peeve with off-shoulder dresses). The dress was very slimming and really emphasized my curves. Even at 5'1", the length felt perfect with strappy heels. I'm glad I didn't take any pictures in the dress because I 100% plan to rent it again.

Wide neck showed bra straps, fabric was not as opaque as expected

Based on other reviews, I anticipated the length of the shirt was very long. But I found it to be overall very large - not just the length. The cut of the neckline was too wide for my shoulders and my bra straps were visible. There was a ton of extra fabric ballooning out over the stomach/back areas, so it was not a long but slimming look (which I think would be more flattering with this style of sleeve). The sleeves hit at the perfect length and puffed out really well. Had the rest of the shirt not looked like it was swallowing me in fabric, I would have kept it just for the sleeves! Also, the white fabric looked somewhat see-through on the hanger which made me a bit concerned for how it would look in the sunlight or the bright lights at work. Because I didn't wear it, I don't know if this was actually the case, but just something to be aware of.

Large in chest area, but gorgeous and slightly casual dress

I think this is a great dress. It was a little more open in the chest than I had expected, but I think a more padded bra + tape would have worked. I have a 23" waist and the 0R fit me comfortably. The length (and height of leg slit) was perfect for me in 3" heels. I ultimately decided no to keep the dress for an upcoming Miami wedding because another dress by this brand worked perfectly. But I will definitely rent this dress in the future!

Gorgeous color, Runs very large

I normally find that size 0 Elizabeth and James dresses fit me very well, even though I am a 00. I rented this in the smallest size (0R). It was gigantic! I loved the color - it is just as vibrant in person. But I would not recommend anyone under 5'6" rent this gown because of how long the sleeves and hem are.

Cute and casual, but not a showstopper

When I wasn't moving around a bunch and the straps laid flat, the shirt was cute. I like the length of the sleeves and the little ties. The black straps were annoying at times. The shirt was very loose, but the slightly nipped waist helped make the silhouette look intentional. I rated the shirt as "true to size" because I had expected it to be a little large on me (and it was).

Too large, awkward proportions, and teal (not blue)

I really wanted to like this dress! Unfortunately, it swallowed me up. Every measurable area was large and fell at awkward places on my body. The asymmetrical hem was the most awkward for me. There is a lot of fabric hidden on that side of the dress, and the bottom of the ruffle hit below mid-calf. I also think the color of the dress is much more teal (read - more green) in person than in the images. Not necessarily a bad color, but not what I was expecting.

Comfortable, but too long for me to wear

Consistent with how Elizabeth and James dresses tend to fit me, the chest and waist fit me. It was a bit large across the shoulders (I don't love when the zipper doesn't lay flat on my back). On me, the bottom was much more flared than I thought the pictures made it out to be - it kind of made me look like a triangle. The fabric is also pretty thick/heavy/structured, so I didn't have that nice "flows with each step" look. The straps were a bit more narrow than I expected, so I had to play around with a few different cardigans to find one that fully covered up skin gaps. All of this wouldn't have prevented me from wearing it to work - but the length on my 5'1" frame was much too long. The dress fell to an awkward place near my ankles.

Unexpectedly large from a brand that traditionally runs small

FYI - I have a 22.5" waist, so I tend to rent items from brands I know run small because size 0 items are normally large on me. Elizabeth and James size 0 dresses normally fit my waist very well. This was my first non-dress order from the brand. I was so disappointed at how large this shirt was! The fabric was substantial and heavy. The white silk you see peeking out from the ruffles underneath the sleeves and peplum bottom does not line the entire shirt (which was a good thing - didn't need even more fabric). Nearly every measure of this shirt was larger than I expected. The shoulders were too wide which made the chest fit awkwardly. The circumference of the arms was too large. The waist was 3-4" too large. Disappointing that I could not wear this.

Different than pictures, disappointed

I ordered this dress in the 0R but didn't end up wearing it. The pros: fabric was beautiful and not too heavy, the gunmetal color really stands out, fit my hips (33") comfortably, and the length was as expected. The cons: First, the torso was extremely long. For the banded waist to actually fit at my waist, there was a chunk of extra lace fabric that bubbled out between the covered check area and the waist. I experimented with my most padded bra to see if I could tighten the fit, but that didn't work. It looked fine from the front but I would've been uncomfortable taking any photos from an angle. Second, the sleeves were not fitted like they look on the model. My dress had a lot more fabric around the bottom of the sleeve and they flared out away from my arms. It was not as flattering or fancy as the pictures. Finally, my dress had a scraggly black velvet bow attached to front of the crew neck. The RTR pictures don't show this and only some of the reviewers pictures do - so this bow may not be on every dress. Overall, the concept of the dress is beautiful. If you have a larger upper-body, this may be perfect for you!

Beautiful draping, lightweight fabric

I love how effortless this shirt was. My normal size is 00P/xxs but I don't mind going a little larger with shirts. The 0 in this shirt fit so well. The fabric is very thin and susceptible to wrinkles, which took some time with a steamer to shake out (I didn't get all of them to disappear, but enough). I had hoped to wear the top with a pair of skinny pants one night and tucked into a long skirt/pants for the other. Just to note: the shape of the shirt "bells" out very wide at the bottom - which makes the shape really attractive to contrast with skinny pants underneath - but it didn't work tucked in.

Great color but too much fabric

The bright pinks/oranges really stand out. However, there was way too much fabric between the elastic waist and the top of the dress. It poofed out underneath the ruffle in an awkward way that was obvious from both the front and the side. I tend to wear XXS in Lilly dresses, so I had a friend who wears Lilly XS try it on - she also had the same problem.

Love the dark green, girly style

While the dress looked much larger on me than it does in this picture, I did end up wearing it because the cut didn't drown me (rare for dresses that are big on my frame). My normal size is a 00P/00, and the waist was ~5" too big. On my 5'1" frame, the dress grazed the floor on the sides because they are a big longer than the front, but was a good length to wear heels with.

Awkward fit and fabric, could be cute for more casual outfit after steaming

I rented this as a more conservative work too to wear with black pants or a skirt, so that I could forgo a jacket or sweater. The fabric was very casual and it didn't lay well with the wrinkles already in the sleeves. I like the length of the sleeve ruffles when my arms were extended but and bending would mess up the fabric. There are buttons down the bodice on the left side of the shirt which lent to the more casual feel. Maybe if I had intended to wear this with jeans and felt like putting in the effort to steam out all of the wrinkles, this would have been a cute option!

Eye-catching color that received compliments from all!

I typically wear (or have to get tailored) a 00. The 00 in this dress was fantastic, except for my normal "issue area"- the waist (I'm around 22-23"). It was slightly baggy where the low back and skirt fabric met for me, so I took a chance and threw on a skinny belt. I actually loved the dress even more so afterwards! I thought the break between colors really accentuated my figure. Worn with a bun, colorful long earrings, crystal bracelet, and bright blue Aldo pumps.
