Fits well, but you need to either be 1) fully Spanxed or 2) gifted with a flat stomach/no muffin top. The XL came just below my knee (at 6’) and allowed me to wear a bra. But I felt like the cut of it made my 36DD bust look matronly plus it’s fully lined, adding bulk when you don’t want it. But I can see why this sequin dress photographs nicely, and it might be better suited to a size 8 or thinner for a winter/cold evening cocktail party. Just not for me!

This was my backup dress for a 40th birthday party. I found it very pretty, but what the shots online don't show is that the gathering in the front is extremely bulky-- making you look PLUMP at the waist. Not a good look for me! I went with the backup, a Nicole Miller sheer paneled lace dress.

I rented this dress for a 40th birthday party in downtown NYC. Got the medium and the large delivered, and while the medium fit nicely (not too tight) the sheer panel underneath pinched at my shoulders because I'm long-waisted and tall (6'). So I went with the large and didn't have the same problem. Got compliments all night and felt comfortable too. Double winner!

Being 6', I was worried about the length on this dress. But it was a perfect knee-length, just as shown on the model. At the time of my rental, only the size 10 was available and I am always an 8. So I took a chance and just as others have said, it does run small fit like a glove and I'm glad I went a size larger! It fits very snugly in the ribcage area, so beware if you're considering this dress. I wore it to a chic private dinner in New York and every person commented on how beautiful it was, especially the fit. Thanks Rent the Runway and don't forget to keep adding some knee-length wear for those of us over 40! Loved this one.
