Wore the XL for roomy fit. Wore with flats, which is my shoe preference always (5'7"). Slit side is fun for dancing but high enough to reveal spanx if you wear them. I am not the svelte body type, but I felt comfortable and confident in this dress. Cool fall night called for a shawl but the decorated neck and simple style kept me feeling as close to elegant as I could be.
