Classy yet sexy.
For reference, I'm 5'1, 145 lbs, and typically a size 8-10. In higher end clothing I vary between an 8 and a 12 depending on the brand. So I think this dress ran true to size. The 10 fit great but it came damaged. The cape was torn where it met the shoulder of the dress. Rather than pay $25 to overnight another 10 I decided to go with the 12. It was fine. Notes: This dress is short. I'm pretty short and when I sat down I was very glad I wore tights with this dress and didn't go bare-legged as originally planned (thanks Florida for throwing us cold weather during Spring Break). It definitely crept up higher than mid thigh when I was sitting so if you prefer a more modest length skirt definitely pair this with tights or stockings. Speaking of, make sure if you DO wear some (because the skirt creeps up when you sit) try sitting down in your tights/hose before you go anywhere. If they have any reinforcement in the thigh area it may show when you sit. Because the weather turned out to be chillier than planned my choice of undergarments were my Spanx opaque tights. They're warm. Unfortunately they're also reinforced in the upper thigh. I had to yank them up higher to make sure that part didn't show. Be careful if you are a slip wearer. I am, and I couldn't wear one with this dress because it showed (even my short one). The lining tended to peek out when I sat down and I had to keep an eye on that. The straps to keep it on the hanger weren't too bad. I had my husband stick the back one down the back of my bra and it didn't come out all night. The front one got the same treatment and it kept trying to peek out but I kept it hidden. Tape would've helped. This dress has no give. If you're hippy definitely sit down for a bit before you choose which size you're going to wear. The 10 would've worked but I think I was more comfortable in the 12. We were at the bar before the ceremony and I was very glad of the little extra room in the hips while swinging up and down from a barstool. And getting in and out of the truck. This dress is definitely a show stopper. I received many compliments on it. My husband called it classy but sexy. But he wouldn't let me wear boots with it - he said it reminded him too much of Batgirl.

The dress was pretty but not for the busty girls.
It was a nice dress. Definitely would have worn if I was not blessed with a chest. When the other girls on here say it's not meant for a larger rack, they aren't joking. The fabric was nice, the color was beautiful. The strapless part was one of the saddest strapless bodices I've ever seen. No boning. No support. Nothing. So if you're busty and think, "Hmm... maybe it will work if I don't wear a bra." It won't. I'd even go so far to say that if it's COLD outside... People might know you're cold. That's how thin the bodice is. I typically wear an 8-10 (curvy figure) but I tried even a 12 in this dress and it wouldn't zip past the chest. I don't think the 14 would have, either - especially if I had to wear a strapless bra. I'm going out to buy a dress tonight for our event in two days. I didn't receive it before 3 to overnight a dress. I'd still recommend RTR but next time I will listen more closely to reviews.

Gorgeous dress for photos!
Rented this dress for engagement photos at Disney. Second RTR rental. Runs true to size, though I had to have help zipping it up because the zipper caught at the ruched waist. Because this dress fit so well and had the gathering in the front I didn't have to wear Spanx. Renting 8 of these next year for bridesmaid dresses! Cannot wait! It fits well, it's comfortable, and photographs beautifully!

Gorgeous, lighter-than-they-appear earrings.
I rented these and when I received them they were smaller than I'd thought. That was a good thing. I ended up not wearing them though because I felt the dress and purse was flashy enough. They were lighter than I thought they'd be, they look quite heavy and large. I'd definitely rent again.

Holds just enough.
I rented this for a formal event. I didn't think a big tote bag of a purse would match a cocktail dress, no matter how nice the purse was. I checked the measurements of this purse very carefully against the new iPhone 6 Plus and it fit just right (WITHOUT the case, though). It held my iPhone 6 Plus, my key fob for my car, $20, and a small lip gloss. My only complaint, and it wouldn't stop me from renting this purse again or even buying it, was that there was no zippered pocket. I'm hate putting my credit card and driver's license against my phone because I'm always scared they'll be demagnitized. I put those in a friend's wallet. I used this with the Shoshanna Daria dress (black lace) but I think it'd go with just about anything.

This dress can make anyone look fabulous!
Sizing: I think I'm on the larger end of the size 6-8 spectrum so I ordered a 6 and an 8. I tried on the 8 and it fit well, but I was worried about not being able to wear a bra (usually a 34D or 32DD) and it was a little loose. I'd read other reviews saying you didn't have to wear a bra. You really don't if the top is snug enough. I tried on the 6 and it was a little snug (more form fitting than tight) and it was perfect. There is boning inside the dress, but there are not underwire cups. Think of it like a corset - no support for the girls, but they'll be held in place. There is very little, if any, stretch in the dress. Keep that in mind. I'm pretty short so the placement of the waist was a concern but I'm so glad I took a chance on this dress. The waist hit where it was supposed to, and everything else just seemed to fit perfectly. You would've thought I'd spent $500+ on the dress and tailoring, it looked made for me. The length was fantastic - most short dresses hit my knees or below and this was above the knee like it should've been. Overall look: If I could afford this dress at retail price, I'd buy it. This dress can make anyone look stunning. It's sexy without being slutty. There is a lace overlay, it's not a lace-printed fabric, and that just makes the dress look that much more expensive. I rented it with a gold clutch and a pair of gold earrings (that I ended up not wearing because I felt it was too much with the dress - just my personal preference). You can't go wrong with this dress.
