Short, structured, and saved by the pockets
This dress is cute. Genuinely, objectively cute. The texture is interesting, the color is a perfect blue, and when I put it on I felt like a person who has their life together and also good posture. Both impressions were temporary. First: it is short. Shorter than the photos suggest, shorter than work-appropriate, and shorter than I was prepared to defend in front of colleagues. Thankfully it was one of those Mondays where I was the only fool to come in. Second: the ribcage situation. The fabric is not interested in your inhales. It tolerates your exhales. Full diaphragmatic breathing is simply not on the menu with this look. Now, the save: pockets. Two of them, subtle enough that you wouldn’t notice from the outside, deep enough to matter. Phone on one side, flat wallet on the other — I was through the subway turnstile before anyone could question the hemline. A dress that accommodates the commute earns real loyalty. Fit note: size up if you breathe regularly or plan to sit down.

Oversized, optimistic, and slightly wearing me
There is a version of this blazer that works, and I have seen her. She lives in a Pinterest board titled something like “effortless French girl” and she is wearing this exact silhouette over a slip dress with messy hair and good bone structure. I tried to be her. The reality: this blazer is large. Not large in the intentional, fashion-forward, borrowed-from-the-boys way. Large in the way that raises genuine questions about whether you are inside the blazer or the blazer has simply agreed to carry you somewhere. The shoulders dropped. The sleeves staged their own adventure past my wrists. The overall effect was less “effortlessly oversized” and more “surprise promotion to mid-level manager at a company where nobody questions the dress code.” The color, however, is doing everything right. A warm, buttery yellow that reads as sophisticated in photos and earns you compliments from people who are looking at the color and not the fit. I appreciated their commitment. If you are taller, broader in the shoulder, or simply more blazer than I am, this could absolutely be the one. For the rest of us: size down, or prepare to make peace with the sleeves. My chihuahua also weighed in. He looked up at it, then walked away. He is very rarely wrong.

This dress is a study in contrasts. Outside: breezy, effortless, exactly right for the kind of humid almost-summer day that makes you feel like a person again after six months of layering. Inside: a restaurant with aggressive AC and a vent positioned directly above my chair like a personal weather event. The dress herself held up beautifully. Sleek, structured without being stiff, and the color photographs in that specific blue that makes it look like you tried without trying. Midi length, minimal details, she’s the kind of dress that lets you be the interesting one. Fit true to size. The silhouette skims where it should and does that thing where it looks deliberately minimal rather than accidentally boring. Bring a blazer. Or request a different table. Either way, rent this.

Loved the sweater. Distrusted the bows.
At first glance, this sweater is everything: warm, soft, not itchy, and genuinely cute. I felt confident adding it to my bag…then I met the back when it arrived. Silk bows. Yes, bows, more than one. Charming in theory, but deeply unserious in practice. They came undone almost immediately when I wore it on a Saturday. For work on Tuesday, I was layering defensively, just in case they staged a full revolt during the workday. It’s the kind of design choice that makes you feel like you’re responsible for garment maintenance when all you wanted was a sweater. That said, the front does all the heavy lifting, and the fit and feel are great. I loved it cautiously. Best for low-stakes outings or quick undressing!

Sized up, showed up, rang in the year as intended
I sized up because my usual size was out of stock and plot twist, it fit perfectly. Hugged in the right places, skimmed where it should, and made me feel unmistakably female in that quiet, confident way that doesn’t ask permission. This is a true New Year’s Eve dress: unapologetically sparkly, celebratory without being costume-y, and built for compliments from strangers. I got one from a woman on a bench outside the venue while frantically hunting down the valet, a moment of chaos softened by kindness. Later, a girl in the bathroom delivered the obligatory compliment, and I immediately scrambled to return one, even though she was wearing a simple black dress (as is tradition). The sparkle photographs beautifully and catches the light when you move, which makes you feel slightly famous, or at least like someone people might remember. I felt like a star: glowing and very ready for whatever the year had planned. Would rent again for any night that requires extra magic.

Soft, reassuring, and vaguely reminiscent of a cardigan a teacher might compliment you on. The pale yellow trim is gentle and optimistic, like a crayon labeled butter or sunshine, and somehow makes the whole thing feel sweeter without tipping into childish. The fabric is genuinely cozy (no itch, no stiffness) just quietly comforting. It’s the kind of piece that makes you sit up a little straighter and behave, even if you’re very much an adult with email problems. Would rent again for days when you want to feel put-together but emotionally soft.

A blouse for winter, wrists be damned
This shirt exists in the same liminal space as a New York winter day—chilly, overheated, and faintly adversarial. Ugly Top, Elevate with Sweater
When I tried it on the top made me feel like something I owned as a seven year-old. I paired it with a sweater and made the look so much better. The front and back ties are something, and the back opens up in such a way that would force you to go braless. It wasn't my favorite until I paired a sweater with it!

The top fit nicely, not too low cut for work, especially if you’re flat chested. I could have trimmed six inches off the side of the dress, and it would have been the right amount of excess fabric. Otherwise, felt like I was walking around in a tent all day.
