Based on review feedback I ordered down a size. It was snug on top but I think necessary for this style of dress. Very flattering and feminine fit. This dress moved really nicely and concealed the jiggle in my wiggle that accumulated below the waist (belly, hips lost their tone) during pandemic lockdown. ;0 There is a built-in slip that hits just above the knee so I did not feel like any other special undergarments were necessary. Really nice knit fabric and pleating.

Fun top to wear for a more casual evening dinner on the patio. Bow tying required some fussing but once in place it stayed put. Also, bow/tie fabric required ironing to make it look like it did on the model. This could be a fun maternity top too, but maybe not during the third trimester. I am normally a size 4. If you are into dowdy old looking yellowed table cloth lace then this is the dress for you. Otherwise skip! Did not end up wearing - not sure I could ever feel good in this dress. Believe the reviewer who said the it is far too matronly. As for fit… I am usually a size 4 and the XS did fit nicely - just couldn't go for the look, cheap old fabric. Unfortunately the dress also arrived with a tear in the back slit and zipper was too hard to pull up. Bummer! But the good news is this is the only total flop I have ever received from RTR.

Fun shirt – wore for a casual lunch with the girls. Although the cut is boxy, fabric has a nice drape and there was a hint waistline wearing this shirt. A little tight across the shoulders for me so I wore open with cami underneath. Added bonus… a little pleating on the shoulder/sleeve gives shirt an extra little feminine edge. Good selection for summer. I am normally a size 4. Size 1 in this shirt worked best for me. (My measurements 34 bust 27 waist.)

Wore this to a special charity event outdoor on lawn, afternoon into evening. Bright, cheery, lots of compliments. Rented as back up. Glad I did! I usually wear a size 4. This was a perfect fit... like a glove but could still breath. I had rented a different style Vone dress before, size 6, which fit right so was unsure about the 4 in this one but glad I chose the right size. A 6 in this style would not have fit me well or have been flattering. Reviews are accurate - harder to move around in this dress but since I was mainly standing on lawn and seated at a dinner, it was a perfect choice.

I love Marchesa and normally fit a size 4. The embroidery on this dress was beautiful. The only downside is unlike most Marchesa dresses this one did not accentuate my positives. I am smaller on top and tend to carry extra weight in my belly. Dress didn't do me any favors. It made me look even smaller on top and bigger in the belly. Also, wish the cut of the dress was more fitted in the waist. If so it might have been more flattering on. Was able to wear a clear strapped bra underneath and it did not show beneath the embroidery/mesh. Regardless of the issues I had with fit, you are sure to get compliments in this one.

Felt really good in this dress! I originally ordered the extra small but it was way too snug for my comfort or to be tasteful. The small fit perfectly and I loved that it hit below the knee. I am 50 and flawed but the cut of this dress was so good that it camouflaged everything! The fabric and lining is a good quality and has nice stretch and give so it won't end up being too clingy if you get the right size but will still look nicely tailored and fitted. I am smaller on top and tend to carry extra weight in my belly but no matter this dress made me look perfect! A good push-up bra and a pair of spanx is all you need. Wore this to what I thought was a dinner party but ended up being a surprise birthday party for me! So… It's great to feel good in a pretty party dress!

Flattering, feminine, sophisticated! Great structure and fabric - thick with give. Lots of compliments and felt really good in it. Order down a size if you'd like it fitted. I'm normally a 4 but it was too large on me - needed the 2. If you tend to carry extra weight between breast and belly your regular size may work well and camouflage.

Major wow factor! Got this one as a back up and ended up absolutely loving it! Used a tiny tack stitch to keep the sleeves up in place. Preferred that look over the drop sleeve. Either way you'll get lots of compliments. (High-quality thick fabric will camouflage flaws but make sure you've got a pair of spanx for this one.)

Rented this for a cocktail party… Thought it looked a little cheap/chintzy on the hanger but looked better on. Ended up wearing a back up dress because I felt over all it was just too revealing for a mature women. Hard to tell on the model but the slit goes up rather high and there was just too much bare leg exposed under the lace and mid drift for my taste. Did not feel sophisticated enough in it. I am normally a size 4 but the 6 fit me just right so you might order up a size.
