Very comfortable, nice to dress up a bit at the office again after a few years of casual attire. Waste band does not stretch much so that measurement will make or break the fit of this dress.
This dress is true to size, fitted (with stretch) from the waist up and has lots of room in the hips and skirt. This looks and feels like a high-quality garment. I wore it in cool weather, once with a silk button-down blouse underneath and once with a white sweatshirt over - I loved both looks. The fabric is lightweight but warm. Parts of the skirt are sheer but there is a knee-length lining layer underneath. The long lines of the dress give a flattering, slimming effect, and the fabric is substantial enough that it doesn't highlight flaws. I would love to buy this dress!
I rent this dress all the time for work, it’s incredibly flattering and the fabric is so thick and rich. 10/10 work dress
When I'm first got it, it looked a little basic, but when I put it on, it was obvious its well made and the tailoring is gorgeous. Will rent again come spring or summer
This is a nice dress. Arm holes ran a little large, wear a black brassiere and all works out well.
Based on review feedback I ordered down a size. It was snug on top but I think necessary for this style of dress. Very flattering and feminine fit. This dress moved really nicely and concealed the jiggle in my wiggle that accumulated below the waist (belly, hips lost their tone) during pandemic lockdown. ;0 There is a built-in slip that hits just above the knee so I did not feel like any other special undergarments were necessary. Really nice knit fabric and pleating.
Nice, heavy knit. Hangs beautifully. Def needs a jacket over it.. I went with denim. Super comfortable.
The material of this dress is nice and Gs more going on than you can really see in the pics. Nice texture and subtle differences in the stripes. The waist also has more definition than you might expect from this type of material. Also great movement.
This dress was so amazing, I would totally buy if it were not $900! It was so comfortable and flattering! I am 6ft tall and it was a perfect length. Definitely recommend!
This designed has been my favorite discover of RTR Unlimited. I wore this dress 3 times and would consider buying long term. Ladylike, edgy, versatile and comfortable.
great dress but armholes a bit large so had to wear t-shirt underneath. Nice weight fabric and very well-made. Length was perfect. Retail price a bit high, otherwise I would add it to my closet.
The chest and arms were a bit large; I wore a black jacket over the dress due to this issue. I don't think sizing down would have helped, as the fit in the waist was great. The photos don't show that the material between the knitting is sheer, so if you will be wearing this piece in bright light, a slip underneath is necessary.
I'm usually a size 2 and the XS fit perfectly. Great midi length. High quality. Would rent again.
Thick material on the top and breezy, light skirt made this dress work appropriate and lovely for summer. You will need to wear a cross back bra as the shoulders are a bit narrow.
Fit like a glove, very flattering and comfortable
The skirt is perfect. Mid calf length on my 5"6 frame. Beautiful green and yellow pattern. Fabric is not too heavy, what makes the skirt a bit see through, so I wore it to work only with a slip. Unfortunately armholes are just huge, what made it impossible to hide bra/ slip straps. Not only straps, but also side of the bra would show, so having strapless bra will not help. I wore this dress multiple times, but always with sweater/ jacket and very conscious that I can't take it off, what made it winter dress only. Were it not for the armholes, the dress would be perfect. I'm a bit conscious regarding my waist (being a mom...), but the cut of this dress hid any flaws in that area perfectly.
Was disappointed in this one. The M was too small in the waist / hips (it highlighted a small belly pooch), but the top was already running big on me in that size so I couldn't have gone up. The neckline is cut a little strange -- it has really wide underarm holes, which wasn't flattering on me and caused my bra to show: I suppose I could wear it under a jacket in the L, but didn't have any particular desire to rent again.
Received compliments at work. Wasn't sure if this dress would work on someone petite, but it was more slimming than I thought! Would rent again.
Great stripe
Very fashionable sweater dress in a nice fabric that hides flaws. The weight of the fabric is on the thicker side so it's best to wear this in the fall or spring or layered eith a jacket or sweater in the winter.
This dress was elegant but comfortable. I wore it with a denim jacket for the cold office and felt fabulous all day.
I wore this to a dinner party and just loved it. Flattering and comfortable.
It was tighter from the waist up than I felt comfortable wearing to a work event so I ended up not wearing it. Will definitely rent again! It is gorgeous!
Very substantial fabric, fit like a glove
Great fit! Loved it!
Cute dress, with a good fit but a little long for a petit frame. I got a number of compliments from co-workers.
I enjoyed this dress, wore multiple times
Love this dress! The top is thick stretch material that holds you in while the bottom is a loose, pretty knit. The fit is so flattering and this dress is so versatile - I wore it to work, to a school event, to a book party and to a meeting. Paired with a black leather jacket as the weather was chilly. One note - the top is quite tight and narrowly cut- if you have broad shoulders it may not work or your bra will show.
Love this high quality stylish knit dress. The small ran smaller than other PS dresses I've worn. It's really a 2-4 and not a 4-6. The fit is very flattering - the top is really defining for the upper body. I wore it on a cooler evening paired with a short black leather jacket and off white booties
great fabric and easy fit.
What a great dress. I was drooling over this piece at my favorite store but it was close to $1,000 which I could not afford. How awesome to find it on RTR.... As soon as I got it home I could feel the quality! Built in bust support so I could go braless (i am small chested) and just so well made. Wore with a jean jacket to keep it casual for daytime and then sandals with no jacket for dinner with friends. Would have loved to have kept it but will rent again!!!!
Great dress! Needs a belt. Easy to wear! I'd buy it if it weren't so expensive!
Fun twist on a LBD. I paired it with a jean jacket for work and a leather jacket for a night out. It's an easy but sophisticated look.
I loved that I could wear a regular bra and the length was perfect on my 5'3 frame. I wish I could buy it. I was comfortable all night and felt confident in it. Was a perfect rental for the occasion.
Really cute dress, very wearable and versatile. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the armholes are very wide and I can't go without a bra so I would need to wear a sweater or cami or some kind of top with this dress. But since it's black that's pretty easy. Things you should know - you'll probably want a spanx. The skirt is sheer in some of the knit areas. There is a slip but it barely goes to mid thigh. You could add a black slip for full coverage. Another reviewer said their dress must be worn out because the skirt had fraying. Actually it's a design element. There is a slightly frayed appearance but it is consistent in the whole skirt, not just in areas that would get more wear and it's done in a way to give texture. It does not look like it is overworn. Overall very cute and I plan to rent again so I can wear it too!
The top was too big, I should have ordered a small instead of a medium.
This was thinner than I expected and the material was not as soft as I wanted it to be. But I did like the colors and it fit well.
Dress was great for a work dinner. Very comfortable. A tad long in the torso, so I'd say best on someone 5'5" or taller, but fine on me (5'3"). I think the dress had likely been worn a lot so the knitting was frayed - not noticeable enough to keep me from wearing it though! I wore a racer back bra with the dress - it's cut in a bit at the arms.
I didn't wear as this piece was bit dressier than I expected or would wear to work simply due to the sheen of the material, however clearly well made, would hold shape and has nice lines and striking colors
