I really liked this dress - one of my favorites - it was very flattering on and very comfortable. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I struggled with the bustline. I used fashion tape - maybe I'm just not adept at sticking it in the right places - but it either looked too pasted on or was too loose. I think if you had the right breasts for it or were really good with the tape it would be fine... I could almost go tape free but any bending over or energetic dancing would have probably caused a wardrobe malfunction.

This was my backup dress and I didn't end up wearing it. It pretty much runs true to size, but order down for your second size. I'm generally a 4 and it was a little roomy (though I'm not sure how the 2 would have fit). There was just a lot of fabric to this dress and not much sexiness - but if you're going for a more demure, conservative look it could work. The color alone is beautiful, just not the most flattering fit in my opinion.

I ordered this as a backup dress for a wedding. It fit well and is flattering (my boyfriend liked it) but it's like a beachy jersey material with an evening gown cut and I could not reconcile the two, at all. Just like a short sleeved turtleneck sweater, it's hard to find the right occasion to wear this. Much too formal for brunch or day time running around in flip-flops, in my opinion, but the jersey material really seemed to preclude me from being able to wear it to a wedding. Also, when the dress came, it wasn't blue but bright purple. Not sure if that was a mistake on RTR part or if I missed something. However, the dress gets three stars because it fits really well, and truly is super flattering. So maybe we can look past the fabric for that reason... warning, there is a very high slit!

I wore this dress to a summer wedding and it was perfect. It's not too short, the color is gorgeous, and the cap sleeves were so beautiful and flattering. The fabric does not stretch at all and the cap sleeves are on the tighter side (couldn't easily move my arms up to dance) so while this dress is true to size, I would order up for the backup size. The top part of the dress is snugger than tha bottom half, so proportions are also something to consider. I wore it with nude heels which worked well.

This was a solid LBD and got the job done. I felt like it ran small - I'm usually a comfortable 4 or sometimes 2, and I had a fair amount of trouble zipping this up. It was shorter and tighter than I would have liked, I wish I had ordered the 6, but it worked. The fabric also doesn't stretch that much. Looking back at pictures, since many of them were from the waist up it looked like I was wearing a black tee shirt and I wished I had gone with something more colorful. But the dress is really cute and like I said, very solid LBD, though I think there are more interesting choices on RTR.

I made the mistake of being overly cautious when ordering sizes. I'm usually between a 2 and a 4 but I ordered a 4 and a 6 because it was for an office party and I thought better to big than too small. Really bad idea - the 6 was huge and the 4 was also too big. It made the dress seem longer than in the photo and overly-cinched. The fabric bulked a little awkwardly under the belt. That said, from the waist up it was great. The fabric is really nice, the shoulder detailing is beautiful. At first glance it appears all black though, the blue is quite dark - definitely less contrast than in the photo. I agree with the reviewer who said it fits snug in the chest - nothing terrible, but seems snugger up top than below. So in the end: get this dress, just order your backup size a size down.

Hot dress, though I thought it was a bit tighter than the previous Herve Leger I ordered. I ended up not wearing it b/c I was going to an office party and I thought it was too much. My boyfriend was begging me to wear it though.
