Holiday party sparkles
My volunteer group finally had our holiday party return after covid cancellations, so it was a fun occasion to dress up. The sequins of this dress were a fun addition to the festive atmosphere.

Flowy beauty for a hot wedding
The weather for this wedding was over 100 degrees, so we ventured out of the air conditioning sparingly! But, when we did briefly go outside for the wedding ceremony, the flowy length--enhanced by side slits--helped save me from the heat. Later on in the evening, I also slipped my arms out and let the sleeves hug my chest for more movement on the dance floor!

Rehearsal dinner comfy
At a Florida wedding rehearsal dinner, this dress was perfect for the "resort festive" dress code. After a hot afternoon, the flowy dress ensured I was cool, but I appreciated the length later in the evening when the bugs started coming out! Can always count on Lilly Pulitzer dresses.

Early May cocktail wedding
Like other reviews have mentioned, this dress runs LARGE. I typically wear an 8-10, but comfortably wore a 6. (I also feel like the sizing across this brand is highly inconsistent, so be sure to read the particular dress' review!) The material was a bit thicker--honestly, it felt a bit like a wetsuit?--but it wound up being comfortable on a chillier than usual May day. Classic silhouette!

March "Irish" wedding
I wore this for a friend's wedding the weekend after St. Patrick's Day...the green is a gorgeous color, but a bit tough to capture in some photos. I wound up wearing the 10--I felt it was a little tight/form-fitting on my hips, but the waist fit much better than the 12. Simple but classic dress!

Formal winter wedding
As others have mentioned, the pictures really don't do this dress justice. There is a faint gold threading around the lace that is really beautiful in person. Similar to others' comments, the liner is a bit short, and there is a lot of cleavage here...but I loved this dress and received many compliments! I'm 5'6" and had to wear heels in the regular dress...so be aware!

Wintery-Spring Colorado Wedding
I wore this to a wedding in Estes Park, CO. I loved the navy with florals--and think the weight of the dress would work great for a spring/summer wedding--I guess I was optimistic that late March was spring when I placed this order. Overall, this dress looked great and was fun to wear. I'm 5'6" and wore with 2-3" heels for the regular length--so keep that in mind if you're on the shorter side! Also be warned that there are slits up both sides of the dress, so the liner is very short. I would have preferred to wear the large simply for the slightly longer liner...but I don't think I've ever had a dress fit so differently in two different sizes! It appears that maybe the large top was damaged and then re-hemmed shorter? It hit at a super awkward spot--especially considering that the dark liner didn't go all the way to the top of the dress. So theoretically you could see the lower half of your bra without the double-layer going down to the elasticized band cinching in the dress. (The second picture is the large with the awkward top length...the 3rd picture is where the medium's top layer fell to.)

Office Christmas party
For my company's holiday party, I wore this wonderful high-low dress. The green is gorgeous in-person--I received many compliments on it. Also loved that I could easily wear tights and a normal bra with this dress! Made me extra comfortable when I had to pile on layers of jackets and scarves to battle the cold.

Downtown Chicago winter wedding
Wore this to a friend's December wedding. I loved having sleeves and easily pairing this dress with tights. While the dress photographed quite well, it looked a bit more casual than I expected when I pulled it out of the garment bag. Despite having a bit of a metallic look to the skirt, the material was much more cotton-like than I expected. Nevertheless, I was comfortable all evening wearing this!

Pittsburgh black tie wedding
Wore this to my friend's black tie wedding reception at the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer. I wore the 10R and found it true to size, or a little big--which was great for the cookie table! The color was beautiful, and having pockets was a wonderful benefit. I will say that I'm 5'6" and only wore 1.5" wedge heels and was quite comfortable with the length...so anyone taller should definitely order the long!

Office Christmas Party
This dress was very festive and comfortable to wear! I had ordered another dress by this designer and found that particular dress to run small, so I sized up for my backup size this time around. I wouldn't say that was entirely needed--the dress was pretty roomy, even for my larger chest. The lace detail at the top is a fun juxtaposition with the sparkly green bottom!

Downtown Chicago formal wedding
I received this dress overnight after renting another which did not work for me. Fortunately, having rented Badgley Mischka dresses of this style previously, I knew it would work! Because the dress comes in a bit at the straps, I wore a racerback in lieu of a regular-strap bra. I'm 5'6" and wore the 8R with 2" heels and it worked fine. I've also worn before with flats and while I had a bit more drag to the dress behind me, I didn't see my shoes every time I took a step. Overall, this dress is super classy and great for a formal affair!

Formal Wedding in Chicago
This dress was awful. Neither the size I ordered nor the back up size would have been appropriate to wear to a family wedding. On the model, the dress appears to have a bit of cling at the hips, but then drapes nicely. However on me (more of an athletic build than truly "curvy"), the dress hugged EVERY INCH through my mid-thighs. Exchanged for another dress that worked MUCH better!

Perfect floral floor-length for a formal summer wedding
This dress was gorgeous. Numerous compliments! Despite the heat and humidity, the flowiness of this dress made the late afternoon more enjoyable, and quite comfortable as the evening cooled down. (If only it had automatically repelled all of the mosquitoes away from me!) I've lost a bit of weight recently so I took the risk of ordering a size 8R as my backup size for a 10R. I ended up going with the 8R because I was able to comfortably fit the zipper, and the length of the dress was a bit more appropriate than the 10R. I wore Jack Rogers sandals since the entire wedding was outdoors. While I did have to grab my dress while walking up and down stairs, it didn't hinder my night! Overall it could have been 0.5-1" shorter for me to comfortably wear with flat sandals (I'm 5'6"), but if you're wearing for an event where shorter heels or wedges are appropriate you should be fine!

Summery bridal shower
Wore this for a bridal shower with my future in laws. It was a pleasantly warm day--but with how thick this dress was (in my opinion, deceptively so!), I was thankful for a strong breeze. The dress looks gorgeous on, and it was perfect for the duration of the party. However once the party was over, I was happy to change out as it started to feel a bit like a heavy table cloth!

Wore this for a day out in Sonoma! I feel like I'm a disproportionate size--short legs, but long torso. I ordered the medium petite, but in hindsight, I should have ordered the regular medium for the length alone. The dress otherwise fit my body! Fortunately, the straps are a bit adjustable in the back so I was able to fake the length a bit...and I didn't trip on my hemline, so that's a plus!

First bridal shower
This dress was great for a bridal shower! Depending on the lighting, it either looked entirely white, or very noticeable with the white lace over the blush underneath. But regardless, very appropriate for a shower. Other reviewers commented that the arms ran on the tight side. I do think they were snug, but I have some more athletic arms and didn't find the need to size up.

Stunning wedding rehearsal
I ordered the size 8 and 10 in this dress, not knowing which might look more flattering, although I tend to wear a size 10 more often. For this dress, I tried the 8 on at first. I had read certain reviews indicating that the clasps at the bust were either problematic or missing, so I was excited to find that I had two functional clasps. However, I did not realize that in addition to the wrap ties, there were two snap buttons near each of the ties. I have a long torso, so these did not hit me at my waist, but rather pretty far up on my torso. While I could button them, I was uncomfortable, so I tried the 10. Unfortunately, while the snap buttons of the 10 worked, there were NO clasps at the bust, which made me uneasy. Ultimately, I went with the 8, forgoing the snap buttons, and praying that the ties alone would suffice. I don't think it looks terrible in the picture, but I was definitely nervous wearing this dress.

Friend's beautiful wedding!
I was a bit nervous when the 10 was not available in this dress, but I loved it so much, I took the plunge with the 8 instead. And I'm very glad that I did! The dress could be too short for some, but with my short legs, I didn't think it was inappropriate. Looking forward to my next Lilly rental!
