I'm not short, but this dress seemed made for someone MUCH taller. The waist hit 4 inches below mine and threw off the proportions. Too short to be drop-waisted; too long to be at the waist. The fabric is a heavy knit, so consider this for a cooler season.

I'm new to Women's sizing (W) usually wearing a standard 16, so I wore both 14W and 16W. The 14W was a smidge tight and showed more cleavage, including the center yoke of my bra when I moved a certain way, but was great for date night! The 16W was a smidge loose and was worn for a work event. Just the right amount of chest without adding a camisole and the right fit for running around all night.

This dress covered everything and was stretchy/cut roomy enough to skip the Spanx. The sleeves were long enough for my long-ish arms, but the wrists were too narrow to push-up. The sleeves aren't lined, so it keeps the dress from being too warm.
