kind of bulky, but interesting
it is kind of boxy, and something you can't see in the photos is that like 1/3 of the bottom hem on the sides is a wide elastic cinched waistband. so you kind of want it to lay straight on your hips but it balloons out a little, kind of like a letterman jacket or something. wore with a skims bodysuit underneath

one of my fave rentals
rented for work, and loved this way more than i thought i would. the cinch hit me in a really flattering spot and the slit was perfect. like all of the philip lim pieces i've ordered, the material is thick and heavy; the dress takes some acrobatics to get in, kinda. but will def rent again for a special day at work.

cute, got a lot of compliments when i wore to the office. the tie kept coming undone and i found it a little hard to know what to wear with it--you kind of have to go with a tight camisole or similar. like but not love.

bright and soft sweater
i feel like i've rented some really scratchy sweaters lately but this was not that--very soft and cozy, almost felt like a sweatshirt. fit was sort of boxy but not oversized, just what i want in a sweater. bright fun pattern. if i wasn't swimming in statement sweaters i might have purchased.

statement cozy coat
essentially a large blanket, so you just tie yourself into it. nice big pockets and great length. lots of other reviewers noted the sleeve length--bear that in mind depending on your temperature; i tried to wear sweaters or shirts underneath that kinda went with the pattern. RE styling, i really feel like what you wear this with makes a difference. if i was picking up my kids in birks and sweatpants the overall feel was more ebeneezer scrooge in his pajama jacket and not chic lady. but with jeans and boots it felt luxe. i think if it were made of puffy coat material/something with a slight sheen, that would help--it is normal dull cotton.

i LOVED this dress. wore to the eras tour as an homage to taylor's streetwear velvet outfit and felt super cute, and very different from all the sequins out there. the boning made it so i didn't need a bra, but by the end of the night it was getting a little pokey. super luxe material, very soft.

interesting details!
i love this dress! it is made of a super thick material and had way more detailing on it than you can see in the photos - some interesting buttoning and pleating that gave it something extra. the belt is completely adjustable so i cinched it tight and was flattering. i might have been able to go down a size; arm holes were slightly big. i wore to a happy hour but could definitely be work appropriate. really interesting dress.

amazing dress for fall wedding - tons of compliments
maybe my favorite rental ever. the length and fit in the front were perfect for the semi-formal wedding we went to, but the cutout back detail is showy enough to make it more exciting and cool. got compliments all night. fit was spot on--i probably could have used the size down just because i'm pretty flat chested but it was nice that the cutout didn't dig into my skin--it hit at the exact right smallest point of my waist. was sad to give it back and that i didn't take more photos!
