This dress is beautiful and well constructed- it feels solid and has just enough stretch to lay right. It does run very small though- I am normally a small or medium in dresses depending on how tight it falls at the hips, but needed the large for this one. Definitely size up.

Reviews said this ran big but I felt it was true to size. If you have hips definitely order your true size or else the dress won't fit right (there is no zipper so it just goes overhead). The material is woven so my only complaint is that despite the comfortable fit I still needed shapewear to not show every ripple. This dress has a lot of potential depending on how you accessorize it!

This dress is absolutely beautiful and I got compliments on it all night. It's solidly constructed and the ribbing/lace hide body imperfections. I paired it with the Kate Spade Chandelier Earrings which were a perfect match (I love red with gold accessories). Even though the back is partially open, it comes up high enough to hide back fat and shapewear (I wore Spanx and an adhesive bra underneath). My only complaint was that it bunched a little at the waist, but this is because I am short waisted so unless a dress is available in petites (which RTR does not currently offfer) I tend to have this problem. Also, one of the anchors for one of the hook and eye closures was missing, but I reported it to RTR and they will fix it before the next rental. Overall- this dress will make you feel fabulous, especially if you pair it with red soles :)

This is a beautifully designed and well constructed dress!! On the hanger it doesn't look like anything special, but when you put it on it comes alive- especially if you have curves!! The lace was thick, well constructed, and sewn onto the solid lining so it doesn't shift. AMAZING. The darker color and lace overlay hide body flaws pretty well, but I did pair it with Spanx to smooth everything out. I wore it with an adhesive bra as well to not have to deal with a traditional strapless (straps would be visible through the lace). If you are petite and/or pear shaped like me this is a great choice since the shift style does not have a defined waistline and there was plenty of room in the hips. I'm still in the process of losing the remaining baby weight and this dress was very forgiving while still looking sharp.

The dress itself is beautiful and well constructed. However, I was not happy with the fit because it was not "fit and flare" as described, at least not if you have hips! The skirt is not A line as it looks on the model- it is a sheath/straight fit through the hips. Had I known this, I would not have rented it because it also has a defined waistline (I am short-waisted so I typically avoid dresses with defined waistlines unless they come in petite as they otherwise don't align properly). I thought that if the skirt flared, it wouldn't matter if the waist fell correctly, but because the hips were actually fitted, the whole thing didn't sit right.

I originally tried this dress on last June at Rent the Runway's NYC showroom. I loved how flattering it was to my pear shape- forgiving in the hips and lower belly while drawing attention to the upper body and legs. Little did I know that by the time I'd wear it, I'd be 9 weeks pregnant and rocking some serious belly bloat. Despite the changes to my figure, this dress was still a knockout! Not only did I have plenty of room in the belly and hips, but the thicker sparkly material made the skin under my dress look smooth without Spanx. The keyhole back was sexy yet narrow/loose enough that it hid the back fat that also crept on with pregnancy. My only complaint was that since I'm short-waisted, the keyhole back didn't lay quite right, but I'm used to that unless dresses are available in petites. Going with this shift style is the best that a short-waisted pear shape can do! Overall, I can't praise this dress enough- a miracle worker and so much fun to wear! I got so many compliments and felt fabulous- a real accomplishment in the first trimester of pregnancy. I only wish RTR would start offering maternity wear; I've got a few more weddings coming up soon!

When I got called to interpret for the President, my first stop was to Rent the Runway. I needed a dress that would be conservative and appropriate, yet also allow me to feel beautiful and comfortable while standing next to the leader of the free world on a stage before hundreds of people. This dress delivered in every way! It felt true to fit and was very comfortable. I usually wear a 6 or an 8 in dresses; wore the 8 because while both zipped, the 6 was too snug in the hips.The dress was slightly shorter than expected considering I'm only 5'3", but still much longer than it appears on the model. It's rare I find a dress that's figure-flattering without alterations, so I highly recommend this one!

This was a beautiful dress and so much fun to wear. The loose bottom lets you forgo Spanx and was perfect for my pear shape. Unfortunately the dress that fit me had a few small stains; reported it to RTR and they've rectified the problem (I wore it anyway because the party I was attending was dimly lit). The top is very fitted so I think it only works on a small bust. My only complaint is that being short-waisted, the bodice did not line up right which is often the case when dresses aren't available in petites. I had ordered a smaller backup size based on the reviews, when in fact I would have benefited from a larger backup size to solve the waist issue.

This dress is a perfect choice for just about any occasion. It was my first Herve Leger rental and it certainly lived up to the hype! The bandage style smoothed everything out and defined my curves. The dress is well constructed and was comfortable to dance in all night! I paired it with black patent leather Louboutins and the contrast of black & white with the pop of red got me compliments all night. The dress is so striking you only need minimal hair/makeup/jewelry. I wore simple emerald drop earrings and natural makeup. I wore it with Spanx for extra support and a Nu Bra adhesive bra (though you could wear any strapless bra). I normally wear an 8/Medium in dresses but had to wear the Large in this dress because the Medium was too tight. Definitely size up for your backup dress.

I wore this dress to interpret for Michelle Obama. It was pretty, formal, and had it fit right, would be quite comfortable. With the low back and loose fit below the waist, you don't need Spanx (YAY) but have to wear a NuBra or other backless bra. Not an issue for someone small chested like me, but might be an issue for bustier girls. My only major issue with this dress is that because I'm short-waisted, the fitted waist on the dress did not line up with my natural waist so it felt a little snug and hung incorrectly. The backup size was too big and because the back is so open, I couldn't get away with wearing a too big size. I'd advise against renting this dress if you're short-waisted because it just doesn't work. I have had this issue with other dresses, but the bodice of this dress runs longer than others.

This was a really nice basic sheath dress that I chose for a formal work event. In person it looked very slimming and the scalloped detailing combined with thicker fabric helped hide body imperfections. My only complaint is that Roberto Rodriguez does not seem to believe in the existence of hips! I typically wear a 6 or 8 in dresses but had to size up to a 10 because the hips were cut so narrow. If you have an hourglass or pear-shaped figure, definitely size up!

I rented this as a backup dress for a wedding. It looks and feels beautiful- smoothes everything out and defines curves. The only reason I didn't wear it was because I liked my primary dress better. I would definitely rent this dress again for another occasion.
