Sort of large around the arms - should of ordered a Medium - feathers were fun but fell out a little....

Because this dress arrived too late for my event, I only tried it on to get an idea of fit, so this review doesn't cover a whole evening's experience. First off, I expected the top to be itchy because of the silver thread, but it was really soft and the feathers were gorgeous.  However, I believe I would have worn the medium back up size based on how the large fit. It gapped at the underarms showing my bra, and the body fit was looser and straighter than I prefer. That being said, I'm sure if I had gone to the party in the large the only person who would have noticed the bagginess was me because it still looked stunning on!  I would definitely find an excuse to order this one again and try it out for the night!

The dress fit perfectly. I had lots of comments. The feathers did shed everywhere.

Really comfortable and stretchy. Would have worn the smaller size but it was missing too many feathers along the front. Did lose quite a few myself so I understand why.

Rented this dress for a Gatsby themed Casino night. Dress was comfortable and fit well. Got compliments on it and felt fab! There was a section of missing feathers but only I noticed it. Would def rent this dress again! 

As others have mentioned, if you're under 5'8" it will definitely not sit the same as on the model. Thick material was great for a winter event and the dress was very comfortable. Everyone's dresses were molting, so I didn't notice it. :)

This dress is very flattering.  It's comfortable with stretchy sweater-like material. Unlike some other dresses, the sparkles aren't scratchy at all. Overall the dress fit as expected, although it was very long. I liked that though, much more true to a 20s look. You can wear regular under garments, no problem. There's no zipper, so it needs to go over your hair so plan ahead. 

I rented this for a Gatsby themed event. It was super comfortable and fit very well. I got lots of compliments, and it fit right into the theme.

The skirt shed a bit, but nothing crazy. I would have preferred a heel, but I had a just-healed broken foot so I went with flats. I overall, I would rent again!

Very comfortable dress. The top is more like a sweater material. Wasn't clingy but also wasn't over the top flattering either. 

This dress was so much fun - especially for our Gatsby Gala!  I am almost 4 months pregnant and this dress was SO comfortable and hugged all he right places!  I thought I would need a large but the medium fit perfectly!  Plus being able to wear a regular bra was a plus.  It's true, feathers do fall out but somehow it's not noticeable on the dress.  Yet another amazing RTR experience!

This is my 2nd rental and both have been perfect!!! This is the way to go when you have a special occasion!!! Rented this dress for a 20's themed fundraiser!!!  Get many comments on how nice I looked. After reading the review I do need to agree that dress runs big. I wear a 2 in dress and the XS and it was still I bit lose. 

This dress was long enough to look like a drop waist which is what I was hoping for. I received so many compliments and it was ridiculously comfortable! The top is a sweater like material so although it was a little big it didn't matter because it was heavy enough with the feathers on the bottom to keep it from looking bulky. It really was a perfect dress for this wedding!

The dress definitely runs big. I ordered the Medium since that's my normal size and Small as a back up based on reviews and ended up wearing the Small. The Small was a big snug around the hips but it was fine. The medium was really baggy and felt more like a sweater dress. Keep in mind that you would need to be pretty tall for the dress to be short like it's shown in the picture. I'm 5'7'' and it hit me right at the knees. 

A very fun dress for a Gatsby theme party!  Hint: the dress is a sweater material so plan what you wear under it.  As many have said, the dress loses feather.  I would definitely recommend this dress for a Roaring 20's party!

I LOVED the dress. It was perfect for my Gatsby Themed work party. I got a small and it fit okay but it was a little baggy. A tighter fit would have made this dress a 10. This is my first time renting and I can't wait to do it more!!

I wore this for a 1920s murder mystery party. It shed some feathers but it was super comfortable and flattering. I am pear shaped and the medium fit better. The feathers did not have much give but the rest was stretchy. I would definitely recommend! 

This dress runs large.  For it to really look nice on an hour glass it needs to hug the body and the XS didn't do that on me.

It fit good, comfortable, ran long, did lose some feathers.

This dress was absolutely perfect for a 1920's party. The dress is curve hugging and super flattering. The bottom feathers are super fun! Only downside is the feathers would shed off the dress, so I'd leave a trail of feathers.

Super stretchy material made the dress incredibly comfortable. I was going to wear the XS but it was a little tight around the thighs because of the band that holds the feathers in place, so I opted for small even though it was bigger on the shoulders. This dress was perfect for the Gatsby event and I highly recommend it. The feathers added the perfect touch. I usually wear 4 or 6, so I would go with your size and one smaller. 

The dress stretches quite a bit.  Normally I would wear a medium and I wore a small for this.  The feathers on the bottom were fun and I only lost a couple throughout the night.    Received a lot of compliments at my Gatsby themed event.

I wore this for my sister's 40th birthday party that had a Great Gatsby theme.  The dress worked great and hugged me in all the right places!  My only complaint is the feathers which fell off quite easily.  I was worried there wouldn't be any left by the end of the night!  Otherwise a great choice!

I am pretty tall and I wore the small. The only thing I would complain about would be the feathers on the dress as several chunks were missing (worn too much before I got it). The dress was like a sweater material but it looked great. The picture doesn't do it justice either 

I rented this dress for a Great Gatsby themed bridal shower. I ordered a small and medium, but should have ordered an XS. I am not sure if it is because I am losing weight, or if the dress runs big...it is a bit longer than on the model, but still a great dress for a party!

I wore this dress for NYC's Jazz Age Lawn Party. It was hot as heck outside and this dress is made of something  like sweater fabric, so perhaps not ideal for summer parties, but I survived. And the fact that I looked on point made it worth it! A stranger even asked to take my picture! I'm quite curvy, busty, and short and usually have a hard time with fit, but this dress really worked. It also makes your butt look great! This was my first Rent the Runway experience and I'll definitely do it again. 

The dress itself is a soft sweatery material. Feathers tend to trap heat and molt but still a lovely look for a gatsby party. I thought it would cling unflatteringly to my belly but it looked nice on. The XS definitively felt a little loose and was longer than expected. Went down to my knees and I'm 5'6 but it still looked nice. 

I wore this dress for my company's 1920s-themed holiday party! The dress is pretty and comfortable. It's form-fitting, so I'd recommend wearing shapewear underneath. 

This dress is incredibly flattering, especially on the rear!  The feathers are super fun and it was the perfect dress for a 1930s theme night we had while going to see Cabaret, the Musical!  

Great dress for a roaring twenties or Gatsby party. The fabric is almost like a sweater, so it's warmish and it the detail is silver. A few feathers fell off but not too many. The armholes were too low for me and the top of my bra was showing but I found a solid black bra and that worked okay. Easy to wear and comfy stretch fabric.

This dress is fun and fits true to size. It's a pretty thick material and it will leave feathers all around. It was cute and comfortable. I'm a little heavier than I normally am right now and work spanx underneath and it worked well.

This was my back up dress for a roaring 20s birthday party we were invited too. I was so much fun and received tons of compliments all night. The feathers along the bottom were definitely sparse and continued to leave a trail everywhere I went. But it fit great and I'm so glad that I ordered it as a back up! Only gave it 4 stars because of the feathers falling out all night and noticeable thinning spots. Other than that the dress was perfect! 

Loved the dress especially the stretch of the material. The only thing to watch out for is the feathers shedding. Otherwise, awesome dress!

Fit perfect! I had read that it ran big so I ordered a size down. I'm glad I did!

The dress was perfect. I am almost 5'5 and 125 pounds. I have a bit of a belly after having kids and the dress did highlight that a bit. The size small may have been better for the tummy issue, but the xs fit in the chest and booty much better.  I bet a nice corset or spanx would do the trick. A normal bra can be worn underneath which is a plus. The feathers did fall off from time to time, but that comes with the territory. I felt beautiful and had a great time at the party! Thanks RTR for another beautiful dress. 

This was my first RTR experience. I knew the dress was going to be long on my 5'2" frame based on the reviews & pictures, but I loved it so much that had to try to make it work.  Due to the fact that the top part is a soft knit, I was able to simply fold it over to make the dress the length that I wanted.  Not a perfect fit, but I made it work!  I got lots of compliments on the dress and felt like a dream wearing it!

Pros: The dress is comfortable, unique, and easy to dance in. I loved how different my dress was compared to everyone else at the 20's party.
Con: Absolutely- the 20's style dress is great for a 20's themed party! But, the material is stretchy and the bottom is a little puffy from the feathers. So, the dress looks a bit too boxy and made me look a lot wider than I am. I wish it would be a little tighter in the mid-section to help balance the stretchy material and heavy feather bottom. 
Recommendation: Order a size down since the dress is very stretchy, perhaps the style will look more flattering. 

The dress fit much better than I expected from the reviews. Which was great since there was no backup size available. The dress was long, much longer length than I would normally wear, but because of the feathers, the length was not a focus. The rest of the dress fit very well. The material is stretchy, so it was comfortable. You can wear a regular bra with the dress, but I had to wear black since it showed slightly under the arms. Like others said in their reviews, the feathers do shed everywhere. My biggest complaint was that the dress showed up a day late. (Friend in the photo is also in a RTR dress)
