Nice dress alternative for a prohibition themed party
I rented this romper for a prohibition speakeasy negligee themed party. The print and loser fit made the outfit very fitting to the occasion. It was very comfortable and perfect for this party, but I wouldn't recommend renting it for a regular event. The fit is my biggest issue with it: it was quite lose on the top but much tighter (and shorter) on the bottom, so I could imagine that it would tend to look pretty inappropriate for anything other than a lingerie-inspired party.

Nice dress for a shower, christening or other day-time event.
This dress looked nicer in person than it did in photos. It's a nice crisp white and it has a nice sheer overlay with watercolor looking flowers on the top layer. The check pattern also adds an interesting element. Nice, quality dress. Doesn't photograph great.

Nice, but very flimsy and lighter than picture.
I rented this to accessorize an engagement shoot. As others have said, the clutch is very flimsy. I actually wound up putting several pieces of cardboard inside to give it the look in the picture. Since that probably can't be done if you actually plan on using it, keep that in mind. The color is also a little lighter than it is online. It is nice and big, so would definitely be able to hold a fair amount.

Makes a statement!
I rented this for an engagement photo shoot and it made just the right statement. That said, I was glad I was wearing it for a photo shoot and not for an actual event: I needed to pin the dress to make it just right, and I was stepping on it and pulling it up the whole time. I ordered an 8 and a 10 (right now I'm typically wearing 6's and 8's) because others said it ran so small. The 8 was so small I wasn't even close to having it zip. The 10 was so big I had to pin it to "take it in" about 2 inches. But worse than the differential in size between the two was the inconsistency between the way the two dresses looked. You can even tell this a little bit by flipping through all the user photos--the 10 was long and flowy, but the 8 was very short, more like a tutu! Very bizarre... It was definitely not a normal gradient between sizes. That said, it worked out perfectly for me and I was glad I rented it.

Beautiful, high quality dress.
I rented this dress for an engagement shoot. I wanted a "professional" type look that was still sexy and a nice bright color. This definitely would have fit the bill, but the dress unfortunately wasn't available in my size and the 10 was too large to wear. As others have mentioned, it is quite a bit larger in the top and a little long, so while it was pretty fitted through my hips, there was no way to make this larger size work. I would say that I found the dress a bit more conservative looking than in the photo, though maybe that was just because of the fit. The material was a nice thick, high-quality one and the color was beautiful. Wish it could have worked!

Comfortable and stylish!
I wore this to an outdoor barn wedding. The dress was very comfortable (and even had pockets, which was convenient) and flattering. It's also unique looking and has the interesting neckline with the sheer straps. I would be a bit weary if you have a large bust--the top seems like it could be a little constricting/awkward fitting with a bigger bust. Otherwise, would definitely recommend!

Most wonderful dress!
This may have been my favorite RTR dress of all. It's gorgeous, unique, and comfortable to boot. I would suggest sizing down. I am usually a 10 and wore an 8 and it was still pretty loose. It worked out fine because of the sheath-y design, but a 6 probably would have skimmed the figure a little better. I wore this to an outdoor "formal garden party" wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion. And the "cape" is just so much fun. Rent this dress!!

LOVE!
One of my favorite RTR dresses! It's sexy and classy at the same time. It's made of a nice thicker material and is very modern with the longer length and cutouts. I'm 5'7" though and I could see this being too long for someone much shorter... Overall, an excellent rental!!

Good for a formal work event if you'e working behind the scenes
I had to work a black-tie through my job and wore this dress for the event. I wanted something that wasn't overly fancy or fussy as I needed to be running around. I thought the laser-cut detailing and length made it a bit fancier, which I supplemented with updo, makeup, and big earrings. While this dress worked well for my occasion, I wouldn't say that there is anything particularly stand-out about it, and wouldn't recommend it if you're hoping to do just that.

Good for a daytime event
This dress was a very good fit for a daytime, spring wedding I attended. The material is very stretchy (I wish a 12 had been available so it wasn't quite so clingy)--which can be a good thing or a bad thing. The open back is a nice touch and the color definitely pops in pictures. The dress was good, but I don't know that I'd rent it again.

Beautiful color, strange fit and material
This dress is a beautiful color, but it was probably one of my least favorite rent the runway selections. The material was quite strange (and it came verrrrry wrinkled) and the fit wasn't great. Still worked out well enough though and better than purchasing a dress in the same price range.

Great for New Years and Costume Parties
I wore this dress for a great gatsby themed wedding party. It worked well as I wasn't sure about how into the theme others would be getting and the dress wasn't overly costume-y, but still fit the bill perfectly (with an added accessory or two). The dress is definitely attention-getter--would probably also work well for New Years!

Very beautiful
These earrings were very beautiful and perfect for the formal affair I wore them to. They were a little smaller than I expected (you can see how they look from further away in the second picture), but since I didn't want to make it too glam (the event was on a political event on a Monday evening) it wound up better that they were a little more understated. I found these earrings to be very lightweight and comfortable. I would definitely recommend wearing hair up (or at least behind your ears) if you want these earrings to be seen. For the price, they are a steal.

Stopped by several strangers on the street saying how gorgeous this dress was!
I wore this dress to a black tie political fundraiser and let me just say, WOW! I wear an 8 in regular clothing, but a 10 in formal gowns is pretty typical, so I would definitely say this dress runs pretty true to size. I am 5'7" and wore the long with about a 4 inch heel and it was the perfect length. The dress is a nice rich, thick material with some ruching across the middle, so perfect for hiding any tummy flaws. It has a straight-across neckline that is well crafted and does not cause any "muffin-topping" effects. The dress also has a little train (you can see it best in the second picture), so take note if you're going to be somewhere crowded (I was and people were stepping on it all night, but the look was worth this small sacrifice). The color is stunning and stand-out. I paired the dress with a gold-plated belt I found on amazon for about $5 (Lupita Nyong'o wore a similar dress for BAFTA paired with a gold-plated belt-- look for less!) as well as the gold Southern Plantation Earrings, rented from RTR for $5 and a gold cuff I had at home. I rent from RTR pretty frequently, and this may have been my favorite rental of all! My boyfriend bragged about how 'stunning' I looked.. made it worth the price itself!

Unique dress formal a dressy event
This dress was unique and the material was very luxurious. The back has a little cape like effect under the bow, and it's not the most flattering (since it kind of just lays flat across your backside) and not great if you're looking for a sexier look in the back. The front fit nicely, but I would definitely put this dress in the classy (rather than sexy) category. Very good choice for a day to evening wedding (appropriate for the church to the after party).

Beautiful, standout dress; Many compliments at an affair full of beautiful women.
This dress is great for a formal holiday affair where you really want to stand out (it's gold; it's long; it's sparkly). I think it fits a little snug (I usually wear a 6 or an 8 and this was a little tight); by the end of the night it was digging into my ribs and scratching a bit. I wore the 8R with a kitten (1") heel and it probably had an extra inch on the ground, but was not a problem. Lastly, since I think the waste was a little snug, with the sequence and the way they reflected light, the dress could tend to make you look bigger than you actually are (see the 3rd picture). Overall all though, this dress is very fancy and really makes a statement. Love RTR!

Did not fit the way I expected based on reviews; had to return :(
I read every review before choosing a size for a rental. I wanted to wear a kitten heel (1") to this event so I would be comfortable, so I figured I should order the regular length (based on several reviews that said girls who were 5'6" and wore 3" heel thought the regular length was perfect. Unfortunately, with my 1" kitten heel this dress was nearly 2" off the ground. Aside from that, I usually wear between a 6 and an 8, so wanted to order those two sizes. RTR was out of the 8, but I read several reviews that said the dress was so stretchy, that it was better to size down so that it fit nicely. The 6 fit, but looked terrible because it was stretched tight right across my stomach and with the sequence it just was not flattering. Also, this dress made my small chest look even smaller. Haha, soo, overall, not the dress for someone with my body type. However, I wound up returning the dress to the NYC showroom and getting a dress that I liked much better (see my review for the Badgley Mischka Screen Siren Gown). The go-to-girls were super friendly and helpful (as usual)!

Stunning dress makes just the right statement!
I wore this dress to a black-tie optional wedding. There wound up being many varying levels of formality at the wedding, and this dress was perfect. It was short and not super embellished, which kept it from being too formal, but the shiny silver/gold embroidery made it fancier than your run of the mill cocktail dress. It is also an extremely flattering cut, creating an hour-glass illusion for even the smallest girl. Would definitely recommend!

'Best dress of the night!'

'Smoke shop HOT!'--Boyfriend (whatever that means.. haha)
Wore this dress for my cousin's afternoon/evening december wedding-- it was perfect! Everyone loved the dress; especially my boyfriend! He was dishing out compliments all night! I am usually a 6, but since most people said the dress runs small, I also ordered an 8. Tried the 8 on first and it fit perfectly, so didn't even try on the 6. The dress was a little scratchy under the arms, and the sequence could get stuck and pull the dress itself, but neither of these issues were hugely problematic. Overall, an amazing experience!
