Being 5' I don't have much torso or leg to work with but usually I don't have an issue with dresses on top. The opening in the back makes the sides flare unless you're trying to consciously keep them down. Maybe the flaring was also caused by the dress running too big. I size up when there is beading involved since there won't be any stretch in the dress. But the size I received fit like a tent. Even when the back wasn't flaring the dress was shapless despite the picture showing a slight A-line.

The dress is beautifully crafted but the dress is a lot longer in picture than it is in person. I'm only 5' and it was a good 4" above my knees. So sad this dress didn't work out because it was the perfect style for the wedding.

This was my second style dress, but my hubs seemed to love this dress when I was trying to decide that I went with it, and I'm glad I did. It turned out better than I could have hoped. I wore a size up because it was the only one I had ordered but it worked out fine. The material is comfortable and has a little stretch. You're able to wear a regular demi bra, so that was really nice. I was comfortable and happy in the dress all night! Got a ton of compliments all night too.

I ordered this dress as a backup because I had rented the blue one with no issues. It would have been perfect except the dress was too short. I'm 5' even so for anything to be too short is unheard of. If I had to order this, I would order the long just to account for length. Keep that in mind when ordering yours! Everything else fit great. There is some stretch to it, so I can wear the smaller of the two sizes I generally fit in. Spanx is a must.

The fabric is heavier than it looks and everything falls beautifully! I have a short torso so the lace on top was a bit loose, but nothing I not already used to adjusting for. I didn't need to wear a bra because of the boning in the bustier. It took some adjusting, but everything fit the way it was supposed to. I wasn't uncomfortable at all. It was definitely long, but being 5' that's to be expected. With 3.5" heels it was definitely not the longest dress I've received from RTR. I got SO many compliments all night long and would recommend this dress to anyone!

This was the backup dress I ordered and I'm glad I did. My first choice was the Thakook Let's Fly Away dress and the fabric on that dress was too stiff and uncomfortable to wear. Unfortunately the weather was not exactly cooperative the day I wore this for graduation festivities at West Point so I was stuck wearing it under a jacket most of the day. Other than that the dress was comfortable and easy to wear. The pockets were a nice surprise. The fabric wasn't stiff like the other dress I had rented. I just wish I could have worn it on a day with better weather!

I loved this dress. I finally made up a reason to rent it and dropped the $125 for it. I was so excited the day it came. The dress still looked great on the hanger. It still looked great when I was shimmying into it. Then as I stood there looking in the mirror, I was sorely disappointed. The fabric was so stiff that wearing it would have required constant attention to make sure that I wasn't accidentally sharing "the goods" with everyone. I tried to get it to settle properly, but once I got one side settled, the other one would look weird. I grabbed a part of the dress and lifted it up to let it fall into place, only it didn't fall. It just kind of floated there like an overstarched item of clothing. Because of the way the fabric fell (or didn't) it makes you look wider than you are. I had ordered a backup dress that ended up working out just fine. I am pretty upset that I essentially paid $125 to wear a $65 backup dress, but what can you do. Hopefully this review will help you avoid the same mistake I made.

The dress is stretchy and forgiving. It fits in all the right places! There wasn't a lot of support, so I felt the need to readjust a couple times. The straps were also a little long for my height, so I had to make a quick and removable adjustment to keep them in place. The length was perfect with 3" heels. If you're taller than 5', I would suggest getting a longer length.

The dress is forgiving, but definitely not for short people. At 5' even with 3" heels, I had about a foot of dress behind me. It also fits really, really big. I usually wear an 8, but I was swimming in it. The 6 was large too, but fit a little better. There is no support at all, so a good strapless bra is a must. The part that drapes over your shoulder is also really wide.

This dress is definitely made for tall and hip-less people. The 8 fit, but the tulip skirt super accentuated my hip area. If you look at the picture, the hip area is poofy on the model. If you are an hourglass or pear, this area looks even bigger. There is no give in the fabric, so if you are going to order this dress, definitely check the measurements.

I was drawn to this dress because of the color and it does not disappoint! The rich color on the jacquard fabric was beautiful! The pockets are awesome! The dress does run a bit small. There is no give in the fabric at all. I normally wear an 8 or 10. I have a smaller waist so I was able to fit in the 10. Just an inch more waistline and I would have had to wear the 12 though.

If you fit in between two sizes because of your breasts, go with the larger for this dress. There is no stretch in the fabric, and when I put it on, my chest looked like it was going to pour out of the slit that is in the front. You can't see it in the picture of the model, but it is definitely there. Also, the hidden zipper is a huge pain to zip due to how the fabric bunches around it. If I had a larger size, it would have been fabulous.

I have loved this dress since the first time I saw it on RTR. I read the reviews and adjusted accordingly. I usually wear an 8 or a 10 depending on the designer. Everyone said it was a little large so I ordered a 6. It was really loose. I could have probably worn a 4. Reviews all said it was really short, but at 5' even, I didn't think ordering a regular length would be an issue. It was REALLY short. I could have worn flats with this dress and it still wouldn't have touched the ground. A long probably would have been the right length. But RTR customer service is great as always and helped fix the situation.

I got the 8 and 10, but this is definitely not for someone who isn't tall or has hips. At 5' and hippy, not a great choice on my part. Also, there were rips in the dress by the zipper, so even if it did fit, I probably wouldn't have worn it. Once again, though, RTR customer service was great and extremely helpful with everything!

The only complaint I had was that in the picture where the model's right forearm is, the draping creates a little poof. If you're hippy it's extremely noticeable. Other than that, the dress was great!

I have been waiting to rent this dress forever! When it finally got here it was just way too small. I got an 8 and 10. I usually wear an 8 for Badgely Mischka, but even the 10 was way to tight. I know I have "birthing hips" (as my mom likes to call them), but there is no give at all in this dress. It's definitely for someone with more of a straight and narrow body shape. If I had gone any bigger, the neckline would have been off the shoulder.

I have a short torso and short legs. I'm only 5' after all. I also have "birthing hips" and thought that the bunching would work well. It did, but the top was wayyyy too loose for my short torso and the shoulders kept falling off. It's beautiful though, just not for shorties. :)

The dress fit great! I wish I had a smaller size, but I got another dress for another event and used my 2nd size with that one. I can see where everyone says they had issues with the length. I'm 5' and wore it with 3" heels, and it was the perfect length. The dress was comfortable and, with the weight of the material, it fell perfectly. I normally wear a size 8 for any of the dresses I rent from RTR. Based on customer reviews, I sized down and got a 6 for my backup dress. There is elastic smocking in the back that provides a lot of give and not a lot of support. The six didn't fit comfortably either. If I'm wearing a strapless, I need some support and I think if you try to wear this dress with a strapless bra it might become a bit bulky. RTR's customer service is amazing though and worked with me to find either a right fit for this dress or a dress that did fit. They sent a size 4, but still the elastic smocking in the back didn't work out.

The draping was perfect and the little capelette thingy in the back was beautiful. Definitely one of those dresses you need to wear the right undergarments with.
