Jaws dropped. Fabric was fantastic. The color in person was stunning and rich. For fit: The bottom of the stress has some stretch. I’m 5’ 8” (with longer legs and short torso) and the long was a perfect length. I’m also large chested, and I felt very supported with just a SKIMS-type strapless body suit, though as the night went on, I felt like the top had some slight stretch, and I could’ve used a strapless bra.

Great for a summer wedding
Another Elizabeth and James favorite. This was perfect for a summer wedding. As with all E&J dresses, you want it to be fitted, so I recommend considering that as you determine your sizes for ordering. The fabric does have a bit of give, but plan on it fitting tightly. Colors were very rich and photographed well!

The perfect bachelorette dress
I rented this directly for the Las Vegas showroom. When the stylist brought it into the fitting room, I immediately stopped and stared and prayed it fit. (Thank goodness it did!) I didn't want the night to end, not only because it was a great night with friends, but because I didn't want to have to take the dress off. It provides the perfect amount of "wow" for Vegas or a party where you want to stand out, but not scream out.

Fabulous color and cut!
I thought the other reviews saying to up a size were being dramatic ("it's a shift dress, isn't it?!"), but I heeded their warning just to be safe ("it's okay if it's a bit baggy"). Thank goodness, I did! I wouldn't have wanted to go any smaller and risk having the dress pull around the hips. As long as you accommodate for that in your ordering, you'll love this dress. Extremely flattering and beautiful color!

Great color and easy fit!
I had this dress overnighted after my original dresses weren't long enough. I rented this dress in red for a previous wedding, so I knew this would be plenty long. I'm 5'8" and wore ~3" heels, and it just grazed the floor perfectly. The last time I rented this dress, I wore the 4L, and this time I could barely tell a difference between the 4L and 6L but ended up going with the 6L simply because I liked the way it fell around my hips better. It really is a dress that looks great on multiple body types and the green color looks stunning in person.

Not long enough - even in L sizing
I wanted to love this dress. In fact, this is the first dress from RTR that I have ever just not worn. The bodice fit was fantastic, and it felt great - until I looked down at my feet. I ordered both the 6L and the 8L to size up based on other reviews and neither even touched the floor! I'm tall (5' 8"), but not so tall that I would expect a long to not even touch the floor. I was positive there was no way these could be long sizes, so RTR overnighted me another 8L. It did have an extra inch - enough that I could pull off a pair of kitten heels, if needed. But who wants to wear kitten heels? ;-) With the slit, this dress is made to show off a pair of your fabulous heels. I ended up wearing another dress option I had overnighted for the black tie wedding.

My favorite RTR dress yet!
My only regret about this dress - that I didn't get any pictures in it during the night. The only pictures I have were from when I initially tried it on at home. It was amazing! I've never received so many compliments on a dress. The color is beautiful, the fit is wonderful, and BONUS when the bachelor finale aired two days after I wore it and I saw Lauren rocking it in blue. Re: sizing, I ended up ordering a size down for my backup size based on reviews, and it was perfect. I could've been okay with my normal size, but the down size was necessary if you have an hourglass shape to cinch you in at the waist.

Another Elizabeth and James favorite
I've worn several other Elizabeth and James dresses with this similar cut, so sizing was easy because of that consistency. It's true to size with some stretch so the dress can hug your curves. Love this understated red that was perfect for an evening event and was a great color for that transition time during fall or early spring!

Classic dress
It definitely fits tighter in the hips, but I was still able to wear my usual size. Agree that you should size up though for your back-up. It's a classic dress that doesn't come across as too light for a wedding guest.

Perfect for the bride, not for the guest!
I rented this dress for my engagement photos, since I knew I love the way these Elizabeth and James style dresses fit. They really do look/feel best when they hug your curves. I'll admit the cut outs gave me a bit of pause, but ended up looking understated from the front, while adding a slight edge to the dress from the back. I know there have been previous questions on here about whether this would be appropriate to wear as a wedding guest. My opinion: definitely not. While it is a blush color, it is much lighter in person, and you can tell it nearly looks white in photos.

Great birthday dress!
Took advantage of my PRO free birthday dress since it was on the same night as a friend's wedding rehearsal dinner. I've rented the orange version of the dress, so I was comfortable knowing the sizing was a relaxed fit and true to size. Love that you can wear a normal bra with it (take advantage of the snaps to keep your straps in place) and the color is wonderful for spring! Pair with some strappy, nude heels and you're good to go. Such an easy, fun pick that I would recommend for most body types. My only critique is that it came with a small black mark on the bottom that didn't really come out when I tried to scrub it with water on my own. It was really a speck, so it wasn't a deal breaker, but a slight blemish on an otherwise perfect dress.

Great color for a winter wedding!
I kept reading conflicting reviews on here about how long the dress was (some saying even the R was plenty long), so I ordered the 4L and 6R. I'm between 5'8" and 5"9 and the L was definitely necessary if you want to wear heels (I had on ~4" heels). I could have worn either the 4 or 6. The 4 looked a bit better in the way the bottom draped, but the 6 was a bit more comfortable. I ended up wearing for 4 for the style and the length. Overall, the dress was wonderful. The zipper tends to get stuck, but don't fret. Just be patient, squeeze the zipper, and it'll work itself out.

Tasteful cocktail attire
I rented this for a party but ended up going with my backup dress simply because the other had a better "wow" factor. I definitely recommend sizing down, as my usual size left too much room right underneath the bust and didn't fit snugly around the waist. This tasteful dress is a great way to look elegant and bright among a conservative crowd. The only reason for the four is simply because it wasn't one of the many RTR dresses I've rented that I didn't want to take off. It was just "nice."

This Elizabeth and James style is my a stunner
After renting the Purple Bardot Elizabeth and James dress, I rented this thinking it looked like it had a similar fit and shape (with the major difference being the cut outs). It's nice feeling confident ordering the similar styles knowing what size you need, as this dress/style fits true to size and fits best when it can fit snugly around the waist and hips. I was apprehensive wearing this version around a conservative crowd because of the cut outs, so I played it safe with a blazer during the event's cocktail hour, but dropped the blazer for the rest of the night and didn't feel too exposed. It's a fabulous dress that will make you feel like a million bucks!

The dress is a stunner, and my fiance was showering me with compliments all night. It fits extremely snug and doesn't have tons of give in the fabric, but while you may want to size up for your back-up size, the dress really does "wow" when it fits snugly and made me feel comfortable that everything is in place all day :-). While the dress may be form fitting, the length is long enough (even on a taller person) to feel perfectly appropriate. I had so much fun wearing this dress and wish I had another event coming up soon for another excuse to rent it!

Pop of Color
I rented this dress after visiting the Henri Bendel showroom during my first trip to NYC (What a fun experience!). The dress is extremely flattering, as is falls loosely around the hips but leaves a defined waist. The sleeve flutter details add the necessary something extra to the dress, and the color is a standout. The pictures really don't do it justice. I would highly recommend this dress for your next summer soiree.

A great LBD!
Such a great fabric and fit. Since you don't have to worry about the dress fitting in the hips, I recommend sizing down for your back up size. That option felt a bit better in the in the ribs and bust for me. The dress itself adds a bit of fun flare to the simple black dress and is a great opportunity to add flair with jewelry. Also, the online product photo makes it look like the back is a different fabric, perhaps even sheer, but it is actually the same fabric as the front/rest of the dress.

Great color. Somewhat odd fit.
The color of this dress is absolutely stunning, and I was complimented by the first person I said hello to at the reception! Still, I felt like this dress was a bit awkward for the hourglass shape, as you need bigger hips to fill out the bottom, but then you risk busting out of the top if your hip/bust ratio is proportional. I ordered the 4 and 6, since the 4's fit perfectly from both of my two previous Rachel Roy rentals. While it didn't fit nearly as well as the previous two, I ended up going with the 4 again, as the 6 looked way too baggy around the hips and stomach and the dress stretches out a bit after sitting down during a wedding ceremony and reception (even wore it around my apartment the night before to speed that process along). I wouldn't recommend this dress for anyone above a small C, as I felt self conscious dancing throughout the night that I was showing too much cleavage.

After renting a different Rachel Roy dress (the Good Karma Sheath) and falling in love with the way it fit and flattered my body type, I called RTR to change my dress for another upcoming rental to this Rachel Roy. I could not be happier with my gut check reaction. Her dresses are prefect for an hourglass shape. And just as the last dress I rented, while the 6 (my usual size) fit and looked fine, the 4 fit like a glove and really showed off how beautiful the dress was. The vibrant orange color was perfect for a summer wedding (it even earned a compliment from one of the female bartenders at the wedding), and the Kendra Scott Emerald earrings were a great color combination along with a gold bracelet and nude pumps. The length is also perfect and appropriate for a wedding. My only complaint is that I wish RTR carried even more Rachel Roy dresses!

A good back up
I rented this as my back-up dress, and would say it just felt "ok" on. This dress looked fine, and I probably would have worn if my first choice didn't work out so well (The Rachel Roy Good Karma Sheath), but this actually made my bottom half look bigger, which I wasn't expecting with the looser fit. I actually asked two men for their opinion and they gave the, "It's okay"/didn't seem that impressed response. Dressed up with heels and jewelry, though, and it could have worked.

A fun classic
I wish I had a full length photo to better show how amazing the dress looked. I ordered a size down for my back up size and am very glad I did. This dress looks its best when it cinches you in at the waist and shows off your curves. I was able to wear a regular bra with it (just had a friend on watch to make sure it stayed beneath the main strap). The material does have some stretch to it. By the end of an outdoor summer wedding, it had actually stretched out quite a bit around the hips that I was dancing to "Shout" without any problems! This is a great selection for a wedding. You'll look classy and still feel gorgeous showing off your curves.

It's impossible to not get noticed in this dress. Heeded other renters' warnings however about the tight fit in the hips and ordered a size up. Don't hesitate to do the same, as the extra room in the hips is necessary if you don't want it riding up all night.

Great sparkle
The picture doesn't do these justice. Their sparkle in person was even more eye-catching and added the picture touch to my black cocktail dress. The only drawback was that a few of the stones in the smaller bracelets were missing. However, you wouldn't notice unless you were looking closely.

The perfect dress!
Another perfect experience from RTR. After reading other comments and pictures, I actually began to question my sizes and considered going up another size. Thank goodness I didn't! When I first tried on my larger size, I thought it fit and looked fine, then just tried the smaller to see the difference. What a difference it made. You really do want this dress to fit snugly so it pulls in at the bust and cinches you in at the hips. The difference between the 6 and 8 for me was the dress looking like a nice to dress to feeling like a million bucks. The dress itself is the perfect balance of elegance and sex appeal with the back detail. I ended up wearing a nu bra with this dress, but if you have a strapless with a low back extender, that would work as well. I also didn't have an issue with the condition of the dress like some previous users. The 6 actually still had the tag on when it arrived. I wish I didn't have to send this dress back!

The compliments were amazing! Two servers at the reception actually stopped me to ask where I got the dress, and after the wedding I checked my phone to find a text from a friend who had already seen uploaded pictures and was asking the same question!
After reading previous reviews and seeing the multiple warnings for those of us with curves, I actually ordered a size up for my first size and ordered two sizes up for my second. Thank goodness! While there was plenty of room in the bust, the dress runs tight through the hips for those who are curvier, and I had to end up wearing my back up size, which was still a little snug around the hips. The dress itself was absolutely wonderful in person and perfect for summer!
