So beautiful... and comfortable!
I ordered the XL, because I thought that's what I got last time, but because it's so flowy it needs to fit correctly in the shoulders to be very flattering.

So flowy and fun!
Loved the way the flowed and looked great over the hips! The colors aren't really great for me, though!

I choose something else, but it was a strong runner-up!
This dress is great for large busts who want to try the bias-cut-look (common in slip dresses) that is really popular right now. Often that style doesn't define the waist enough for it to be very flattering (especially if you have wider hips). However, this dress is cut so that it nips in at the waist, while still falling very subtly over the hips. Don't be scared by the detail at the neckline if you have a large bust! That being said, it would work best with an hourglass figure to balance the look out on the bottom, because if you have more of a heart shape (top heavy) silhouette, the bias-cut of the skirt wouldn't provide the necessary fullness to complement the detail.

Twisted Asymmetrical Neckline Dress
3.1 Phillip Lim
Size Worn: 10R
Usual Size: 12

Bust: 34G
It was perfect for going to a talk about jazz age music, without being too costumey
I wore the 10 and when I rent this again, I would probably try the 8. This is not because it runs large, necessarily, but because there was plenty of room in the bust and hips so I would go for the size you desire for your waist. However, this dress is not just good for hourglass figures, it drapes so beautifully in the bust and hips that it would also work for pears, and the waist is constructed so that if you are more of an oval shape, it would create a waist. The only thing is that I wouldn't suggest it for petites.

I ended up wearing something else.
So fun! This looked really cute with a simple pink tank top, letting the skirt shine. I ended up wearing something else to the party, but I will definitely think of this skirt for another time. I will warn that for those who worry about looking wider in the hips, this skirt won't help with that, but the waist does nip in really nicely so that it accentuates a small waist to balance the hips.

It is so floaty and romantic. It moves so well with the circle-cut skirt.
I have a large bust and a small waist (Bust of a size 10, waist of a size 8, hips of a size 12) and this dress fit my waist almost perfectly so if you find that your midsection is often what makes a shirtdress pull, then I would size up. There was a little bit of pulling on the bust but nothing that a little fashion tape didn't fix. I vacillate between a 10 and 12, depending on the brand and since the 12 was slightly tight in the bust, I would definitely size up in this if you have a large bust (maybe even size up 2). It was also great length for me, but I imagine it would be very overwhelming for anyone shorter than 5'7".
