Fabric is thick velvet, luxurious feeling and very forgiving and smoothing! Flattering but could also be too formal or too plain/boring in certain contexts. From the back (I didn't fasten it fully at the neck in my pic) it is a bit plain and reminds me of middle school choir dresses. Feels expensive and nice though. My major con was the Asian detailing which I was into at first (and why I chose the dress) but didn't want to wear for this particular event context (I would have been the only Asian person present and felt weird about it) I would definitely rent this again in the future! It's definitely worth it and very flattering. Glad I got to explore this designer too as now I want to see their other stuff! CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW: a few days before my order shipped I got an email saying they couldn't fulfill the backup size "because it was returned late by the previous customer or did not pass our quality assurance check." HOWEVER, customer service was awesome and super responsive and quick to help me find a backup in a different style (this one) that was also included in the same order which arrived on time still! I actually ended up wearing neither dress as this dress wasn't fitting the vibes of the wedding but I plan on ordering that one again in the future! Customer service was awesome and refunded me store credit.

The fabric felt nice and expensive but also thin and kinda clingy and felt like it showed EVERYTHING (measurements are 35-38-36) I originally picked it because I thought it would be super flattering and emphasize my curves similar to how the Skims ribbed lounge dress does, but in a more expensive, formal way. However my major qualms were that the straps were a little weaker and more "forward", the cowl neck sat awkward on me, and overall the fabric felt not very forgiving. It showed my belly and was not flattering as I expected for my hip dips and really emphasized them in a straight down way from my hip downward. There's a world in which a similar dress looks better on me but unfortunately its not this one. I facetimed a friend to help and she said "it's not bad but it doesn't scream damn you look hot" which I think sums up how I feel about this dress. I really wanted to love it! But for me, it was Not It. I also felt that it made me look bigger and broad backed than I actually am due to how the straps sit/are cut. Also felt that my boobs would fall out if I leaned forward. CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW: This was my top choice out of a lot of different options but I was worried about the length as I was unable to get the longer length due to availability. Loved the fit of this dress and the length was perfect! I wore block heels with it and the length worked great for me (I'm 5'6.5" without heels and long legs). The slit wasn't super high, kinda wished it was higher but it was very tasteful and classy. There is an extra slip-like lining under the dress that ends at the slit.The fit was great but I did wear spanx with it and high waisted underwear to help suck in my stomach and I did have to suck in for photos. I wore sticky boobs from Target (my fave is Fashion Forms Women's Superlite Adhesive Strapless Backless Bra) and no lines, no issues with the bra showing! The only thing I think was annoying for the dress was that the straps kept sliding down on me (only when bending or sitting so I just readjusted them) and also the front neckline tends to roll outwards like a lip so you can see the lining a little. Other than that it was a perfect dress for a surprisingly chilly spring wedding! It just feels luxurious to wear and makes you look luxurious af. Would definitely rent again! I wanted to buy this but was unable to sadly For reference, I am a 32C and usually wear a 4 in almost everything, jean size 27. My measurements are roughly 35-27-37.
