The fit was true to size. It is a little stretchy so it is not too uncomfortable. It really is beautiful dress and I wore it during my husband's military ball. It is especially scratchy in the arm pit area, with that I mean it is a little uncomfortable under my arm but it was worth it. I received quite a few comments on the dress and how it looked on me. I am 5'6" and was debating on ordering an 8 long but since my heels of my shoes were not that high at all, I was glad that I did not order the dress in an 8L would look like high water to me. I ordered a size 8R and it fit great.
