The dress fit perfect!! Was very comfotable and the length was perfect, didnt need a very high heel. The dress is so flattering for my body type, felt like a movie star in this dress!!! 

Fit was perfect!  A tad long in the back I had to pick it up a few times but wasn't a problem to do so!  I received so many compliments!  Spanx were not needed...and it was absolutely glamorous for my work Christmas ball!

I ordered this dress as a back up to another and I was glad the original worked.  Although this dress is lovely, it definitely looks better on someone slimmer.  I thought that all the ruching would help to "hide" flaws but I felt that there was too much of it thus causing an emphasis on the tummy area.  Also, the sequins were very itchy under my arms even when I was trying it on so I couldn't imagine wearing it for an entire evening of dancing although if you are someone who doesn't have "extra padding" under your arms like I do, you might be fine!  Now if I lost that 50 lbs that I have been wanting to, I might try it again...lol

I was super worried about the reviews of the sequins bothering under my arms but I was lucky not to have that problem. I did get a little disappointed about the color not being gold when I opened the package but the fit was so great that I didn't care anymore.

I ordered a size 6R and 4R. The dress is true to size and the 4 fit perfectly. Th length was perfect and looked great with silver heels. It is stunning and I highly recommend it. #bridesmaid  

I've lost weight and can wear a 12 but due to my curves and bust, the 14 was needed. The pros...The rouching made my mid section look flawless, the fit curved and accentuated my body perfectly and the flow of the bottom part of the dress looked beautiful when we danced. It was very flowing. Also, many people work dark colors so my shimmery gold dress was truly unique. I wore about 2.5-3 inch heels and I'm 5'6". The cons...Any shorter heels would have gotten caught in the hem and I could feel the sequins scratching the inside of my arm but got used to it. I wore the dress 7 hours and would definitely wear it again! 

This dress was extremely comfortable. I was 5 months pregnant and a bridesmaid. I received so many compliments and felt great. My only con is that sometimes the fabric would wrinkle because the mini sequins would get caught on each other, but it was minor nuisance. 

I wear a 10 but that wasn't available so I got the 8L.  It was snug but fit.  The reviews said to go a size smaller but I think a 10 would have been perfect.  I went with the long as some of the reviews said the regular was short with heals.  I wore 5 inch heals and it was perfect.

Im usually either a 6 or 8 but got a 4 and 6 since the reviews said it runs big. I couldn't zip the 4 but the 6 was snug and perfect. I'm very short and the 6R was just the right length for 3.5" heels. Sequins under the arms are irritating, but no other real cons. Great dress for my anniversary! 

There was a little play room so it was super comfortable to wear ALL night long.  If I got the 2L, it wasn't available, it wouldn't been a bit tighter and probably fit right on point but this was perfect. A ton of compliments. This is a great dress and I got a ton of compliments.  I wore the 2 long, and it was a little short in the front with flats on, but it still looked great (it's slightly longer in the back). It's more of a champagne than the gold that it appears on the website.  The sequins did scratch near my armpits, but I got over it.  Overall, I would definitely recommend this dress.

Fit was perfect although the 2R was a little short, even for my 5'3" frame.  With heels, I opted for the 2L and I was glad I did.  The dress is covered in sequins so it can be a little itchy under the arms but overall s really comfortable dress.  I got so many compliments!!  


This was my first experience with Rent the Runway. I did not want to buy another dress which would just sit in the closet. All the choices were overwhelming and I had saved about 20 favorites. Out of those 20, my husband picked this dress. I received so many complements and the dress felt great on.  

I planned to order an 8, but I waited too long to place my order. So, I went with the 10R (they were out of 8R, 8L and 10L). But, it fit great. My only complaint At 5'4" - this dress was too short for me in a Regular. I prefer the length of a formal dress to be right at the floor. So, I did have to wear flats, but I am not complaining. The night was great and the dress was awesome. 

Looking forward to ordering again.

My only con on the dress would be that the sequins rub under your arm throughout the night, but nothing too irritating. The dress runs short so I recommend getting a long if you're someone who likes to wear high shoes. I'm 5'3 and wore 4 inch heals with the 2L and it was perfect.

My first experience with RTR. I ordered 2 dresses. My biggest concern was that the dress was going to look and smell worn. They did not. The dresses were very nice. I ordered a blue sequins Nicole Miller and this beige Carmen Marc Valvo. This was my second choice but it looked awesome and fit the theme of the 1920's. I wear a 6 and have an hour glass figure. It fit perfect. It was very comfortable, I did not find  the sequins scratchy under or around the arm as others have said. I am 5'4 and the length with heels was perfect enough not to trip over the dress or have to hold it up when walking.  Another plus was that I didn't have to wear spanx with this dress. 

I rented this dress for our cocktail reception wedding and it was perfect!  The size 8 was returned damaged, but the rtr team had great customer service, and thankfully the size 6 fit like a glove. I'm usually a size 6-8 in regular dresses but this dress in a size 6 was perfect! I love that you can wear a regular bra and there was no need for spanx since the ruching/sweeping pleats was very forgiving in the problem areas. I'm 5'3" and I wore nude kitten heals which worked out well length wise and were very comfortable. Overall an amazing dress and I would definitely rent it again! 

I had a hard time deciding what to wear for my event. At 36 I was the oldest model in a runway show showcasing a new jewelry line. We needed something formal for the after party. I am SO HAPPY with the dress, earrings and bag I rented from Rent the Runway. Their customer service was amazing.  This dress fit pretty true to size. I ordered a 12L as my backup size and couldn't zip it shut. :S  The 14L was perfect for my height and was just long enough with my heels (probably about 3in or so?) Never stepped on the dress. The lace and sequins did stick together at times, but I didn't care. In a sea of black mini dresses- this dress stood out. I only wish I could have worn it longer! I will certainly be ordering again. 

Also - in the picture I rented the Nicole Miller Teardrop Pearl earrings and the Lauren Merkin Diana Snake Clutch. The clutch was a bit "gold" for my tastes but it all went together perfectly!!! 

This dress was perfect for a black tie wedding & soooo comfortable.   It is true to size (6R) and the length was perfect.   There is a bit of stretch to the fabric & the ruching is very forgiving.   This was my first experience with RTR and it won't be my last...my only complaint is that I had to return this beautiful dress!

The dress ran a little short. I'm 5'5 and wore a regular. I ended up being barefoot for most of our engagement session because it was too short. And the sequins were really itchy along the armpit part. But other than that, wonderful. 

It fit perfectly.  Uncomfortable under the arms, but worth it.

I wore this dress to a fall wedding and absolutely loved it. I did notice some irritation in the under arm area like most women mentioned but it did not bother me too much.

I am usually a size 6 and found the 8 to fit perfectly. It is a very flattering dress and I would definitely wear it again!! 

I am 5'4", 120-122 pounds, and wear a 32DD bra size. I find it hard to find clothes that look nice but also aren't too revealing and can cover a full-support bra. But this dress did everything and then some. I ordered a 6R and a 4R. I ended up wearing the 4R, although both fit. The 6R looked like it had been worn many more times than the 4R, so I'm not sure if that's why it didn't look quite as nice on or if it was the size difference. Either way, I was very comfortable as the material has quite a bit of "give" to it, so it was easy to sit, move around, dance, and eat (even in the size 4!).  

I had expected the beads under the arms to rub much more so than they did, or maybe because I expected it I wasn't surprised. It may have been the tighter fit of the 4 that helped this, as it didn't really rub much at all when I had to situated right. That part didn't bother me at all, but I was aware of it.

I wore a 2.5" heel, dark brown strappy pair of shoes with some sparkly things on the top. They looked great with the dress -- don't know if you can see them in the photo.

I LOVED this dress and was blown away with RTR. This was my first rental and I will most definitely be a return customer.

Some reviewers said the sequins on this dress scratched their arms but I didn't experience that. I felt beautiful wearing it. Perfect dress!

The rouching was very strategically placed! The fishtail bottom was perfect! However, I'm 5'7.5" and the 2L and 4L were both not long enough. The pictures show the dress WITHOUT heels. I had to rush to look for very short heels to wear. This dress would be great for someone 5'5" to 5'6" if you don't want to wear flats...

This dress looks completely different on the hanger vs on!! Don't set it aside until you try it on! It is so classy & beautiful!! The sequins around the arm area ARE scratchy, but I knew that based on other reviews.. Still totally worth renting! I am an E cup (thanks to being a nursing mamma :-) but a 25-26" waist so I was worried on if it would zip at the bust or not & if I would be able to wear a regular bra with it (which I could-yeah!) While I could have worn a 4 in every area BUT the chest, the 6 fit perfect & gave me a little extra room in the tummy. I was really worried at first renting w/o trying on, but it worked out amazingly!! I opted to not wear a necklace as the picture shows,and instead paired it with some really pretty gold & diamond rhinestone long earrings, a couple gold & diamond rhinestone bracelets & a gold clutch with diamond rhinestones accents all from Charming Charlie's! I got soooo many compliments & felt like a princess!

Fit like a glove! The dress is very stretchy  where it hits the hips / thighs. The bust  has no stretch though, and a zipper up the side.  For size comparison -- exactly the same fit as a size 4 with BCBG.  The dress looks short in my photos, but that's probably because I'm 5'11" and felt the need to wear 4" heels... my bad... lol!  Definitely recommend this dress, it looks amazing when light catches the sequins.



This dress looked absolutely perfect on one of my bridesmaids. The only issue she had was the material rubbed her skin raw around the arms. She looked beautiful and got compliments all night long. Perfect bridesmaid dress. 

Fits perfectly. Glides over curves and flatters. My mother felt like a queen. Had her red carpet moment.

This dress was a very flattering fit for a curvy body! My mother wore this gown and turned many heads at the wedding! For women with hips like ours finding dresses that fit are a hassle but this dress is perfect!!! Would recommend a million times over!!


I used the reviews from other women who were my age and body type and was very pleased with how sexy and glamorous I felt in this gown.  I wasn't exactly sure what color sandals to wear and had purchased two different colors (from Payless!) and thought the silver 3-inch heel worked well.  I think I would have been alright with the regular length dress instead of the long and gone with a lower heel.
The dress is "forgiving" of a tummy-pooch, but still accents all of your curves.  
I was very impressed with the service from Rent the Runway and will certainly do business with them in the future!

It fits like a gloveee. Honestly, pulling the dress out of the bag..it doesn't look as flashy as the pictures. But when light hits it, the shine and sparkle is never ending. I will make you look and FEEL like a million bucks. 

The positive response I got from how I looked in this dress was overwhelming, both the night of the event and from pictures afterward.  I loved it the moment I opened the box and glad everyone else loved it on me!  This was my first RTR experience and I cannot express in words how positive it was!
Only con, and I hate to say it, but, the sequins rubbed around my shoulder...totally with the discomfort, though!

This is a beautiful sequined lace dress. The fit was perfect, although I could have squeezed into the 10. The length was perfect for me and it enhanced my shape. I wore gold sandals and rented the Kate Spade necklace which was amazing with the dress. I wore large stud "diamond" earrings and a gold and rhinestone bracelet. The dress was exceptionally comfortable and flattering and I was happy with the wonderful compliments I received. I would defintely rent this dress again.

The only thing I will say is the material is alittle scratchy around the arm area.  It's the sequence that poke out.  Also, the bottom sometimes folded over and would catch as you walk, but all and all I was given so many compliments.  I felt confident and sexy!  I will def use renttherunway again! 

I am seriously considering this dress for my husbands Army Ball and was thinking about a pearly necklace like that from RTR. Did you rent that one here?

This dress was very easy to wear and true to size! It hugged in all of the right places and the rouching throughout the mid section made me feel comfortable. I loved everything about it. The lace and sequin fabric was beautiful. 

The dress did get a little irritating by the end of the night on the inside of my arms. I was able to wear a regular bra (huge plus because I am a 32F)

I am 5ft3 in tall. I was worried the dress would be too long. I wore it with 3 in heels, could have gotten away with 2 inch heels. The R size may not work for anyone 5 ft 4 and above. The fit is perfect and the dress was very comfortable. 

Pretty true to size but runs slightly small. I am 5'6'' 120lbs and it was an inch off the ground so it was slightly short. If you want to show off your shoes / not have the dress drag then it will work well. I also felt a little constricted - tight in the armpits.

I had many compliments for this dress. It looks prettier under the party lights and in the photos.

The dress had obviously been worn before and was obviously used but you could only tell if you were super close to me.  Luckily, my fiance (now husband) was the only person who was close enough to see the wear and tear on the dress. 

Loved this dress! The sequins were occasionally itchy but for the most part I was very comfortable in this dress. A little long, but I don't like wearing more than 2.5 inch heels, so if you're 5'2" or shorter might need some high heels. 

This dress was very comfortable in the inside, but the outside of the dress is quite itchy due to the amount of sequins. RTR sent the wrong size, and I ended up wearing a 4R instead of 4L, with the exception of length, the dress fit true to size. The rental I wore was tattered at the floor edge, but no one noticed. The fabric color was more taupe than beige, but champagne colored shoes and clutch ended up working with it. This was sent as an emergency style after one other style was stretched out and another too short. I was disappointed that RTR sent the wrong length after a desperate call to address the fit issues with the original selections,but that aside, the dress is lovely.

Fit great, beautiful for a bridesmaid dress. I recommend getting a Long if you are wearing heels. The bottom fabric was slightly longer than the sequined fabric which I did not like. Right shoulder has a clasp which is obvious unless you wear your hair down so it covers it. 

This is a beautiful dress and fit like a glove, but the sequins scratched the heck out of my skin. I wore this dress for about five minutes and still have red marks around my arms three days later. Also, a bit short. I'm 5'6" and the skirt fell just below mid-calf - not what I was expecting.

This was my first tine using RTR and from start to finish the experience was great.  We were invited to a special event in NYC for New Years Eve.  I received so many compliments on the dress.  The area under the arms can rub a little.    You will feel like a princess wearing this gown!

I am a size 8 or 10 depending on the brand and cut of the dress I was surprised how well the 10 fit!

One thing is that because of the wear on the dress, the lining on the upper back crept up a little and was visible. I tried taping it down inside, which didn't work and ultimately let it go. I think RTR needs to mend it for the next person.

This dress fit my 5"3' frame great.  It was slightly snug under the right arm (same side that has button closure over the shoulder).   Wore 3" heels and the length was perfect.  The dress showed slight signs of use:  button closure had been stretched and was visible, the nude colored lining in the back of the dress at the neckline would not lay flat and was visible, and there were 2 small pulls in the lace.  Still, it was a beautiful dress and I received many compliments.  

This dress was perfect for the DC Chamber of Commerce's Annual Gala where everyone dresses to the NINES.  I felt glam without being over-the-top and I got compliments all night.   (Also, the dress was somewhat forgiving of my extra lbs in the mid-section.  Gotta work on that!)

I rented this dress for a bridesmaid dress in a friends wedding. The dress looked amazing in pics! I read previous reviews about the itching underarm, I was concerned about this as we dressed at 2pm and the wedding was not ending until 1 am. Yet I did not experience any itching or  discomfort. Dress was so comfortable, the length was a little bit short in front but not enough to be noticeable. Size ran small go a size up and it will fit perfect!

Fit well.  Was a little tight in the chest, but I always have this issue as my chest measurement puts me up a size or two from my hips.   It is very scratchy around the arms, but got so many compliments to was worth it.  It is more sheer than I realized so if want to wear Spanx with it need high cut ones and not the ones that go down your thigh.   The regular was too short for me to wear the normal high heels that I would wear, so I wish I had gotten the long.  I am 5'7". 

I tend to run in between dress sizes 8 and 10 but definitely needed the 10 in this dress. It's a totally beautiful dress, the sequins under the arms scratched a bit but overall I loved the experience.

I originally ordered a 2R and the 4P as a backup (at no extra charge which was very nice). I am 5'3", 123lbs and athletic build. The 2R fit me well except I couldn't get it zipped over my lats (my upper back is a bit thick). I ended up wearing the 4P even though it was a little roomier in the body, but it zipped up all the way. This dress was comfortable and fun to wear. It stood out from the black dresses. I am pleased with my first experience with RTR and I'll use them again for my next event.

Wore this to a Mardi Gras ball. I am 122 lbs and 5'6''. The dress was snug but fit well. It was not very stretchy. The length with heels was good except the back of the dress kept getting caught on my heels just from walking (even though the dress didn't touch the ground). Where the dress touched my arms (arm pits and back of arms) was extremely scratchy (almost painful by the end of the night). The dress is not as gold as it looks in the photo, rather more nude colored with a shininess from the sequins. 

I usually wear a 4 and the 4L fit perfectly.  The dress arrived on time and the packaging made the return super easy.  Will definitely use Rent the Runway for my next special occasion.

Worn to ball. Loved how I stood out in this dress, yet had my boobs covered up and could wear a regular bra! Tight under the arms. I would wear again, but only if the event was under 3 hours because the armpits definitely started to hurt!

I am 5'3" and should have worn petite, even in heels I would the catch the dress on my heels. 

The fit of this dress was perfect! It was light and comfortable for a full day of wedding festivities. The bottom part of the dress is a little more see-through but this design is what totally makes the dress.  Color - Light nude, full of sequins.

This dress was definitely flattering to my post baby body.  I loved the color and the overall style.  I had many people come up to me and say how much they loved the dress.   It was perfect for a black tie event.
The dress did look a bit worn.  Sequins missing and fabric frayed.  The buttons at the top are barely on.  And as other reviewers mentioned the sequins really did hurt my arms.

The sequins were scratchy so I wouldn't recommend it for something lasting longer than a few hours. The particular dress I received looked to be "well loved"- it may have seen its better days, several strings, loose sequins, etc. But I received several compliments on the dress and I think it was very pretty! I will definitely rent again, but will probably avoid sequins in the future :)

I rented this dress for my mom for my wedding and she looked fabulous, even better though - she felt fabulous! The dress is tight but she said she was comfortable all night none the less. Couldn't recommend this dress enough, especially if you're wanting to look radiant at a formal affair regardless of age! 

I got this dress the last min because the original brides maid dress I had didn't fit well after I lost some weight. It was WAAAAAYYY better than the original! It was gorgeous and accented the bride perfectly. The dress fit perfectly in all the right spots (besides the armpits) I didn't wear a bra and I have fairly large breasts and I didn't worry once!! The only issue I had however was the armholes were a little small and throughout the evening the sequins began to rub on my skin and was quite bothersome. Other then that small issue... I got so many compliments on this dress! I am super happy with my decision 

I wore this gown to a black tie wedding at the Four Seasons, and it was the perfect dress for the occasion! I'm 18 weeks pregnant, so it flattered my mini growing baby bump very nicely (material in waist is stretchy). It was very comfortable and glamorous! I received tons of compliments throughout the night. :-)

I wore this to my daughter's daytime wedding. I received so many compliments!!  I felt great wearing this dress. The diagonal rouching in the front and back helped camouflage any lumps and bumps. I did not have any irritation from the sequence under my arms like other ladies mentioned. I wear between an 8 to a 10. The size 8 fit perfectly! I also wore it with gold sparkly shoes and it looked beautiful together. I would wear this dress again in a heart beat!

I am typically 2-4 dress size and 5'7... The 4L fit perfectly with 2 inch heels. Stunning dress, tight fitting, shows curves, easy to move in. A tad scratchy because of the material but hey, it was worth it. Got tons of compliments :) and tons of press for RTR. 

This dress was exactly what I wanted!  I had a baby just over a month prior to the event.  I thought the material would be a great "hide" for the baby tummy.  And it sure was!  I'd say the only con for this dress was the arm hole, the edges of lace and beads were a little itchy/scratchy. Other then that I love the dress.  Oh the weight on my profile says 114 (pre baby), I'd say I was around 125 for this picture. I know weight can help others determine the right size.   

This dress fit true to size. It was stretchy around the middle and very comfortable. Mid thigh to floor is a bit sheer, but added to the drama of it without showing to much. My 3" heel was the perfect height, letting the pretty shoes show just a bit.  Comes out of the bag requiring no ironing/ steaming.  Loved it and would rent it again. 

This dress was gorgeous! It hugs all the right curves and gets heads turning all night. Only con was the sequins rubbing against my underarms but it was well worth it to look so good. Would recommend
