What a great LBD! I have worn it with bare legs and heels for a more classic look; I've also worn it with fishnets, military-style boots, and a motorcycle jacket for a more edgy look. But...don't eat too much before (or while) you wear it if you're on the upper end of an XL like I am. I find that I only feel like I can wear it if I've been doing a lot of yoga and not eating a lot. :-) Pros: Solid construction in a fabric heavy enough to suck you in without Spanx; flattering neckline; great length. Cons: Hard to get a bra under it; end of zipper is a little rough on your skin.

I've been cycling through a bunch of formal dresses trying to pick one for a wedding at the end of January. Pros: Glitzy, but not too over-the-top. Slit is not too high, and the deep V is very flattering. Cons: This was very big in the bust and rib cage for me, but it fit my hips, so I doubt the 14 would have been any better. I'd recommend this dress for someone who is more proportionate (busty with big hips, or hips small enough to go down a size to match the smaller bust).

I was really disappointed this dress didn't work out. I still gave it four stars because the overall fit of the dress is lovely. It fit like a glove...until the bust/shoulder area. Maybe I'm just not built for off-the-shoulder looks like this, but I seriously would have needed breasts twice the size of what I have to keep that dress up. ,The shoulders would not stay up, and when I leaned over, the girls almost fell out. Even more confusing is all of the straps Black Halo added for hanging the dress up. They weren't useful for keeping the dress on, but yet they didn't tuck away when you put the dress on, either.

I'm usually a 14-16, depending on the cut and the designer. 16 seems to be the right thing for me for Black Halo's neoprene styles. The dress fit beautifully and I loved the asymmetrical neckline. The fabric is fairly heavy and not very breathable, so if you plan to wear this at an event where you will be dancing a lot, I'd advise you to reconsider this one.
