More versatile than I expected. Loved it, too!
First, I ordered a size too big for a reason I can no longer remember. That was a mistake, as it was a little big on the top. But I loved the dress so I wore it anyway, and it was fine. I wore the dress just out to a nice dinner, with understated hair, jewelry and shoes, and I didn't feel overdressed. But with fancier styling it would do great at pretty much any event short of white tie. It is supremely comfortable, and feels well made. One of my favorite rentals. I would recommend it for hourglass or maybe straight & narrow shapes, but note that the white fabric folds stand up outside the black above the waistline, potentially adding some bulk.

Not a dress for the shy.
This dress attracts attention. It is of course completely form fitting, typical Leger. The hot pink is something else! There is no hiding. But b/c it's clearly well made, it's not tacky or attention-getting in an embarrassing way. My only fit quibble is that the neck opening is quite wide. I have broad shoulders and found myself pulling the strap back up on one side or the other periodically throughout the night. But it was fine, and I had fun with the dress. I was surprised how far below my knees this dress came, but it was quite flattering, which I would not have expected.

Not the dress for me.
Unlike another dress from the same label that I ultimately wore, this dress seemed to run large. My usual size was baggy. The orange detail on the hip wouldn't sit flat - it stood up like a ruffle. Not flattering given that it outlines one's rump or, I would imagine, emphasizes the lack of one. The material seemed stretchy, and I think it would work best on a taller woman (I am 5' 8"), assuming one could get the ruffle to lie flat (maybe fashion tape?).

Nice, versatile dress.
Nice stretchy fit, hugged and/or disguised all the appropriate areas. Conservative, but not boring, with the slightly asymmetrical neckline. Perfect for a nice dinner out, but would be appropriate for anything from the symphony to a cocktail party.

Versatile Dress
I found this dress to be a bit loose around the mid-back and hips, but it still had a nice shape, and I was very comfortable all night. I probably would have been fine going down a size, but for the shoulders. Mine are fairly broad and my arms are muscular, and they just fit comfortably in the size 8 sleeves. I'm sure they wouldn't have fit in a 6. Had the rest of the dress been any larger, or had it come down past just above my knees, it might have tipped into dowdy territory. But, all was fine. The dress seemed well-made. The material wasn't super-luxurious, but it definitely did the job.

Not the dress for me.
In retrospect, this was an odd choice for my occasion, which was a date with my husband. I would have worn this dress to work with a cardigan or blazer, but not to dinner. I think it would also be appropriate for a casual spring wedding as the fabric is lightweight and the pattern is...vibrant. I felt like like a walking Atari game, specifically Space Invaders.! My husband had the same thought. Also other reviewers mentioned the gold/clear logo things on the straps, which I could not really see in the pictures but felt like a giant Versace billboard on, which made me feel cheesy. Finally, while dresses have been running small on me recently :( the 46 I ordered was too big and the 48 I ordered as a backup was like a caftan. Wore the Leger I'd ordered as a backup, which was awesome.

I always order a Leger for backup and almost always end up wearing it!
I reliably wear size M in Leger, but this one seemed to run a teensy bit small. It took 2 of us to do up the side zip but once it was in place the dress was comfortable. It was quite short, too, so if you are squeamish about your mid-thighs, this might not be the dress for you. There was more beige than I'd expected around the right side and the back, but overall it was still a great dress that can be dressed up or down.

Wasn't quite the right fit, but it worked.
The description of this dress says it runs small. I found it was reasonably true to size - the length was about mid-thigh and there was plenty of room for my curvy hips. The challenge for me was that the arm holes are cut quite deep into the chest area, so while it fit fine (at least my A-cup size), I was self-conscious about my broad, muscular shoulders, and I ended up tossing a sweater over the dress so I didn't feel like a linebacker. It worked for my event, but I would not have been comfortable in a more formal setting. I usually like sleeveless dresses; this one was just not cut quite right on top for me. Also, I wore Spanx as suggested to smooth everything out, and the skirt kept slipping upward all night. The fabric was high quality and the dress itself well made, but it wasn't my most successful rental.

Nice dress, but didn't quite fit right.
The fabric of this dress is nice and thick, with a subtle diamond pattern that provided light texture. The collar made it a bit uncomfortable to sit, as it forced me to have excellent posture, and the back gaped a bit. My backup was a Leger, which fit like a dream, so I wore that instead, but with a few tiny tweaks I would have happily worn this dress. If I owned it I'd just have it tailored and I expect I'd wear it on many different occasions, as I can be dressed up or down (somewhat).

Amazing fit, as usual.
I think I should just give in and rent Leger dresses for every event. I've rented several now, usually as backups, and they always fit like a charm so I end up wearing them instead of my intended dress. This one even gave me honest-to-goodness cleavage, which is not something I get very often. No tugging, every bit stays in place. The color is a nice bright blue. Eye-catching, but not obnoxious.

Flattering, versatile, fun dress.
This dress fit me like a dream. I am 5'8", 36A but otherwise curvy, and I could have worn either the 6 or the 8. I opted for the 8 because the fabric does hug the body and I needed to walk a lot, which would have been less comfortable in the 6. No need for Spanx; the fabric is both shaping and forgiving. I would not recommend this dress for full-busted women as I was as close as I've ever come to popping out. Despite the sheen to the fabric, it can be dressed down with boots or a cardigan, though I opted for a little sparkle as my occasion was more formal. I am seriously considering purchasing this dress as I would wear it frequently.

Elegant, fun dress
This dress was wrong for me for so many reasons. Black usually makes me look washed out, I have tiny boobs and halter styles usually make my shoulders look like a linebacker's. Why did I pick this dress? For the fabulous leg slit, the draping of the top and the fact that it showed off my arms, directing attention away from the washout effect of the color. It was amazing. The draping in the front with the halter and the no-back style stayed in place - to my enormous surprise - and the slit came up quite high without flashing anyone. I was so comfortable all night long, even thought I ate a ton. I am usually between a 6 and an 8. I chose the 8 over the 6 because the fabric is quite tight across the hips but also the sides stayed in place on the 8 a lot more reliably; with the 6 I was worried about gaps. The draping in front was low enough to be sexy but again, there was no danger of a "wardrobe malfunction." If I had more occasions on which to wear it I would buy this dress! The style notes suggest Spanx, but I found that the cut of the dress prohibited any underwear at all. Instead, I opted for commando, and it was perfect.

Great dress for many occasions
I wore this dress for a nice, but not formal dinner. I typically fall between a 6 and an 8 and the medium was just right. It fit wonderfully - despite the very tight fit of Leger dresses the fabric is thick and stretchy so it hides what needs to be hidden and accents the right parts. Because I have small breasts the deep neckline allowed a little cleavage to show but I didn't feel at all indecent. The hem hit just about mid-thigh. I was comfortable all night and received lots of compliments.
