Roaring 20s Perfection

I wore this dress to a "Roaring 20s" NYE party--and it was stellar! I'm sad I don't have a better photo to show how lovely it looked. I wore the size 4. The 6 was my backup, but would've been too big. The fit of the size 4 was still roomy, so it was very comfortable (no spanx needed!). The beading does make it a bit heavier than most dresses, but nothing outrageous. Recommend!

All around, a fun dress to wear.

It definitely runs short, hitting at the upper thigh, something to think about if you plan on dancing. The back does shift around a bit (some suggest fashion tape) but the size 4 fit me pretty well and this helped keep the dress in place. Fabric is stretchy, easy to wear. A great dress for the price.

Being able to skip the mall on a holiday week!

This dress was great, in theory. Some issues once it was on: The material is beautiful, but it has a fair amount of stretch in it, and so I think it would have fit better had I gotten a smaller size. I am usually a size 4, which is what I ordered, but I think tighter fit would have been more flattering...as it was the looser fit of the 4 sometimes made some weird bunching in the middle of the dress. This would also be a better fit on someone with a longer torso--I think I'm pretty average torso-length wise (I'm 5'3), and I found I had to do some temporary adjusting at the shoulder (fabric tape) and still had to keep tugging it down throughout the night. Shorter girls be aware: on the model, the hem seems to hit mid-thigh, on me it hit at just above the knee. Finally, the dress looked pretty good in person, but in photographs the reflective nature of the fabric made for some weird, unflattering photos...especially with flash. The dress itself is beautiful and well made, and I think would be very flattering--on the right body type. Also of note: The dress in the photograph looks like it has a a slit up the see-through back panel, with two small buttons bringing the back panels together in the middle. In reality, the dress just has a full zipper up the back, no button/clasp.
