Cute and classy!

This dress was sent overnight because my first choice didn't fit. Fortunately, this dress arrived just in time for my event! It was perfect for a bridal shower, and I got many compliments. Majority of the women there had never heard of RTR, and by the end of the party I felt like a spokesperson for the company, haha. I ordered a size 4 and 6. I tried on the 4 first and it fit pretty perfectly. I didn't even need to wear spanx with it. It was definitely form fitting, but not to where I was uncomfortable. The only thing that was a little bothersome was the boning in the sides. When I sat in the car, it dug into my back a little. There was also a pink stain on one side of the rope that went around my neck, but if I straightened it out a certain way it didn't show. After the party, I tried on the 6 out of curiosity and it fit much more comfortably; however, the part around my chest and under my armpits was very wide and sticking out. So, I stuck with the 4 again and wore it to dinner. Overall, it's a great dress and I enjoyed my experience.

Very sophisticated, but runs small

The exterior of the dress is very thick; my boyfriend poked fun saying that it reminded him of a curtain. The blue color was very faded looking, but the print wasn't too wild or abstract. I rented this dress for a Saturday bridal shower and made sure that I received it a few days in advance in case it didn't fit. I am so glad that I did because, unfortunately, it did not fit. I am usually a 2, so I got the 2 and 4. But, I couldn't even zip the 4 all the way up. It stopped right at my natural waistline. Other than it not zipping up, it felt very comfortable, the length wasn't too short, and I loved the pockets! The size 6 wasn't available to send, but, luckily, RTR was able to send me another style in two different sizes overnight on Friday. The shower was at 2 p.m. and the dresses arrived at 10 a.m.! I was very pleased because I was doubtful they would arrive in time, and I didn't have to wear something else I wasn't interested in. So, keep in mind, it is very fitted in the waistline! I would suggest disregarding your usual size and order up for the first dress, and order up two sizes in the second.

I felt sexy and classy!

The dress is definitely true to size. I would go with your usual dress size and one up. The fit is very flattering and snug, yet comfortable. After a long dinner and two hour Cirque show, I was still comfortable in it! I never once needed to lift my arms up, but I can see how the thick straps can rise up. Fortunately, they stayed in place all night. The dress does bunch up a little while walking, but that's typical with this type of material. I personally don't think you can wear a strapless bra with it. The openings under the arms are quite large, so you could totally see a bra, and just very very minor side boob. I chose to wear a seamless adhesive bra, similar to the Nubra, but I got mine at Target for much less, and it looked great. I was also able to wear my higher power Spanx with no detection because the dress was long enough. I would highly recommend this dress!

Beautiful, classy dress

The dress does run large. I'm very glad I went with the 2 and 0, instead of the 4 and 2. I would definitely suggest going down a size as your second pick. It is long, the lace overlay went to my shins. However, the black "slip" only went to my knees, which still looked fine. I had to be careful when I pulled the dress down after sitting to not expose my strapless bra. A lot of skin up top was showing, but, luckily, the lace covers plenty. Depending on your bust size, and if you're comfortable with it, you could probably go with out wearing a bra. Even though the lace covers plenty of skin, I personally don't like to see bra straps. While sitting, it did bunch up and stick out at my upper back, but with my hair down it wasn't noticeable. I think that's normal for most dresses, unless it's tailored to your body. Also, as the night went on, the slit in the back bunched up where the black "slip" and lace attach. But, people told me it wasn't noticeable. I always notice the little things that ONLY bother me! Haha :) Overall, it is beautiful and well made. Paired up with leather round toe platform pumps and a black satin clutch, I felt very elegant, and you will too!
