Summer fun
Drop waists are fairly hit or miss on me. This one was a total hit. This dress DOES run a tish bit large. I should have sized down to an XS as I think that would have solved the issue of it gaping under the armpits. the length was perfectly fine on my 5'2" frame. The material was nice - not too thick and not too thin. I went braless and the world did not end. I paired it with d'orsay flats in a nude blush (with metallic heel) and the Kate Spade ice cream truck purse. Truly was such a fun dress that I would certainly rent again. #Sweeps Entry but the opinions in my review are my own honest views.

Truly beautiful
This necklace is absolutely stunning. I wound up ordering it from another site as it went on sale while I still had this in my possession and I was so smitten with it. The details on this necklace are phenomenal. The quality is great as well. It IS heavy, no doubt... but my goodness does it complete a button-up shirt well. I wore it with the button-up Kate Spade striped dress that's also available on RTR and this was what made the outfit. Pairs beautifully with Kate Spade Necklace
This dress runs large. Period. I ordered the small as the XS was not available and I was swimming in it - even when I cinched the waist tightly with the sash Oddly enough, my dress came with two sashes. I wound up using them both to create a larger bow. I paired this with the Kate Spade necklace that's also available and got way more compliments on the necklace. The dress itself is pretty simple. Length is as featured, based on the inevitable height difference between me and the model (I am 5'3"). It's sweet, but again... Quirky and Whimsical on a spring day
I ordered this before Summer had truly come... but luckily for me a wonderful day of summer occurred in Spring. This purse truly is whimsical in the best of ways. Little girls stopped me. Adult women stopped me. Everyone would smile as I walked by. Perfect for getting ice cream or taking a stroll. Colors are as depicted. Size is as shown in my photo. My purse was missing a rhinestone when it arrived, but you couldn't tell unless you were truly looking. The size meant my wallet could not fit inside (I have a larger wallet), but everything inside my wallet that I needed certainly could. Adorable. Not for my body type
As other reviewers have said, the fasteners on this dress do not stay in place. I had read those reviews prior to selecting this, so my stars were not impacted by this issue. First let's talk the fabric. I was not anticipating this garment to be made from fabric this thick. My goodness is it thick. It instantly adds bulk to the body beyond what the silhouette does. This silhouette is not my normal. At all. However, I do love a feminine take on a masculine piece, so used my Unlimited to try something outside of my normal. I tried EVERYTHING to make this work, but was never successful. I have hips and a smaller waist... and am only 5'2" (5'3" - I'm not sure which) and this dress needs someone a bit more straight due to the fit. I think had I sized up and it was looser and I paired it with a buttonup underneath I might have been more successful.. but in my size (which fit similar to the photo) this was a no go... I didn't even feel I could snap a photo in it

Tulle with a twist
I own several Bailey44 tulle skirts. The waistband on this one appears to be a bit smaller. It fit my waist just fine, but pulling it over my hips I could notice the size difference. The length is also a by longer than some of Bailey44's skirts. Despite being short, I don't mind the length. I paired it with a cropped top from BHLDN. What else? The tulle is incredibly soft. I wound up purchasing from Anthropologie after renting (via Unlimited) as I fell in love with it. #Sweeps Entry but the opinions in my review are my own honest views.

Goods and bads
This dress has good and bad qualities that make average at the end of the day. This dress is TWO separate pieces, which means more outfits. I paired the top with jeans and with a black skater skirt... and also as intended with the dress portion. The dress part underneath has little to no structure and is incredibly long on a shorter frame. Prohibit-ably so. Also a few feathers were lost, which meant I would never buy this in the future (or any of tibi's other feathered tops). So all in all, the top this comes with is lovely... the dress underneath? not so much. Oh and if you're large chested, I don't imagine this working well for you do to the way the top is cut.

Fine Gauge with Twirlability
This fits true to size to even a bit large. I would recommend sizing down unless you would feel uncomfortable with the slip/lining underneath being tight (it's not visible at all). I actually was tempted to buy this dress. Anthropologie has it for $198 right now (for a reason unbeknownst to me as every other retailer has it for $298). This dress hit me right above the knee on my 5'3" self. I paired it with patterned black tights, Jeffrey Campbell Skate wedges in camel, and layered necklaces. Wore my hair in a high ponytail with a nude headband. SO many people asked me where I got this dress. Great movement. Super comfortable. A fine gauge knit rather than chiffon, so infinitely more wearable.

The subtle details
One of the best lines of Clueless was when Cher is describing someone as a full-on Monet. This dress is the opposite. This dress looks pretty from far away, but the closer you get the more beautiful this dress is. This dress features lots of lace and semi-hidden sequins that blend right in. The lace is high quality and looks luxe. It also feels that way. The sheer waist is barely there, keeping it elegant. That portion, even on my 5'3" self did not venture down toward belly button territory. It was also a good length. My only issue with this dress was with the zipper. This dress was too large on me (my traditional zero left a few extra inches of fabric around the waist) , yet the zipper was hard to do up.

Beautiful small details.
I paired this dress with a black knit button-up, headband, tights, nd cobalt blue flats channeling my inner Blair Waldorf. This fit quite true to size in my opinion, maybe a tish bit roomy... but I wouldn't have wanted to size down. The length was great on my 5'3" frame. The small details of this dress definitely made it for me. Especially those sleeves. Two things of note: I found the black strip at the bottom of the cutout in the back to resemble the back of a bra from faraway. This is one of the reasons that I paired it with a black button-down. two: the hook/eye on the back came undone MULTIPLE times during the day as I wore this. Forgivable since the dress is so beautiful, but maybe check to make sure yours' is pinched better than mine clearly was... Oh and the material is definitely thinner than I was expecting... Though maybe it shouldn't have been as I own quite a few Shoshanna pieces and while they're never see through, they do all tend to be lightweight.

This jacket helped to make the Marchesa Notte dress more casual.
I know some said this jacket runs small, but the waist ties cinch SO incredibly much. If you loosen them, you'll find it fits pretty much TTS. I left mine cinched quite a bit as I wanted to define the waist. I buttoned the top button of the jacket as well, so it worked wonderfully over the dress. The stars on mine were a bit faded in spots. I don't know if it's meant to be like that or if it was a flaw in the garment itself. SO many people on my instagram page asked me where they could buy this piece.

Beautiful detail work.
This definitely runs large, in my opinion. I had room to spare around the waist and room to spare in the bust. I can't imagine it working so well on a taller person due to the proportions. The detailing is wonderful and over the top, but since the colors are muted it works quite well. It arrived in good shape and I sent it back today with two other pieces. I will say I found the top portion to itch ever so slightly.
